A Miner Miracle
A Miner Miracle is a San Francisco-based non-profit organization that provides professional clothing and image counseling to low-income men, women, and young adults seeking employment. The purpose of the program is to help disadvantaged people enter the workplace by educating them to present themselves well and with pride. The program -- from providing work-appropriate clothing and grooming services to enhancing presentation skills -- not only improves employment potential but helps build self-esteem. Since its inception in 1995, A Miner Miracle has been steadfast to the dignity and empowerment of the clients that it serves. The program has served more than 13,000 disadvantaged people. Its work has been recognized locally, Jefferson Awards, and nationally, including the Oprah Angel Network Award and a feature in LIFE Magazine.
