HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 4-6; Mark 8 Monday, March 4 John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. Fairest Lord Jesus: Sometimes I am so afraid to open my mouth for you, and yet you are the greatest drawing card ever seen. What drew me to Christ? Wasnt it simply you who drew me to yourself? And if it was, then why should I be afraid of failure, rejection, or maltreatment if I talk about you to others? You will always draw others, just like you drew me (the faults and frailty of the messenger notwithstanding). If people are drawn to Harvest church by anything else, they will soon be drawn away. But whosoever you draw Jesus, you hold onto, yourself. Help me Lord, to not doubt your power to draw! I do that when I hold my peace and keep the word of the gospel to myself. I want to go today sharing the name of Jesuseven to those who have until now been stubborn, like __________ and __________and trust you to draw them according to your will. No one is beyond your power to draw because no one is beyond your ability to save! Anyone can feel the magnetic force of grace. Draw them by your Spirit today by making me more evangelistic. A soulwinner knows Logic will not draw like grace will draw Eloquence will not draw like grace will draw Argument and debate will not draw like grace will draw Jesus, draw men and women to yourself through me! I dont need any other gimmick. Help me as a worker of the word to work your way, and to draw with the cords of Christ. Because I know if I draw to Christ, and I draw by Christ, then Christ will draw through me. I ask it in Jesus blessed name. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 13-15; Mark 10:1-26 Thursday, March 7 John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 7-9; Mark 9:1-25 Tuesday, March 5 Luke 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Good Master: Fulfill my hearts desire and lay your cross on my shoulder even now. I should not wear it if I will not bear it. Prepare me for the height of blessing you call me to this week, and let me receive gratefully the painful preparation necessary to receive your highest good. Teach me how high things need deep foundations, and it takes a long time to excavate a human soul so deep it will be ready for a palace in eternity. Advancement in grace can only come by affliction. You are the all-sufficient Helper. If severe trials are ordained for me today, then strengthen me in my infirmity and enable me to rest in your love. Help me realize always that I am never out of reach of your everlasting arms. Surround me this day with a sense of your boundless love and infinite wisdom. Father, I thirst to be like Christ, to bring glory to his sacred name! I praise you for the awesome stoop of your condescending grace. You only are worthy of all my love. Cause me to not only know your precious word, but to retain it in my heart so it might fuel the fires of affection and kindle a lively, fervent faith. Help my imagination extend my vision, so from this high place of hallowed outlook in prayer, there will arise a new determination to plant the seed of the gospel in souls who are lost. Give me, through the living Spirit of God, a greater likeness to Christ for their sake. Increase my thankfulness for your providence, because grace always strikes the bell when the best moment arrives. You bless me by temporary delays as well as by prompt replies. Make the time of the promise correspond with the needs I have today. For so I ask it in Jesus powerful name and to his glory. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 16-18; Mark 10:27-52 Friday, March 8 1 Chron. 4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! Loving Lord, three simple prayers as we set-up for Easter: 1. For the unsaved who are searching for peace in their souls, Lord lead them to us and us to them 2. For those who are saved and in wrong churches, Lord lead them to us and us to them 3. For those who are saved and not going to church, Lord lead them to us and us to them Enlarge the borders of our congregation and our ministries! Use us to spread the gospel among those who live in our city. Use us to make the name and the deeds of Christ known both here and abroad. Bless us in our activities of the spring. Give us souls as we operate our outreach. Call-in the remainder of the fullness of the Gentiles you seek (Rom. 11:25). Pour out a more abundant measure of your own Spirit to carry out your work through us, for this cannot be done by man. Let your Spirit descend and be diffused in the midst of our church to the glory of your grace! God, establish grace and peace and give us liberty to preach. We pray for righteous politicians to rule over us. We pray for those in places of supreme and subordinate authority. Give them wisdom and faithfulness from heaven to manage the affairs of this life you have entrusted them with on earth. God, deliver our friends and those near to us from all the evils they feel or fear. Bestow on them all the good we wish for ourselves, both here and hereafter. For we ask it in Jesus precious name and to his honor. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 10-12; Mark 9:26-50 Wednesday, March 6 Rom. 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. O Lord God: I beg you to listen favorably to the prayers of your people so we, who are rightly punished for our sins, can be mercifully delivered by your goodness, to the glory of your Name, through Jesus Christ our Savior. You see how I put no trust in anything I do, but I only trust in you. Mercifully grant that I can be defended today by your power against all adversity and every enemy of my soul. Rom. 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. You teach me that all my activity without charity is worth nothing. Without love, whoever lives is counted as dead before you. Without love, whatever is done is counted as dung before you. Send the Holy Ghost, and pour into my heart that most excellent gift of charity, the very bond of peace and root of all the other virtues. Grant me this kind of revival for your only Son Jesus sake! You hate nothing you made, and you freely forgive the sins of all who repent. Create and make in me a new and contrite heart so I, while I lament my sins and acknowledge my wickedness before you, can by that confession and repentance obtain from you all mercy, perfect remission, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ the Lord. For our sake he fasted forty days and forty nights. Give me grace to use such abstinence myself so, with my flesh being subdued to the Spirit, I can ever obey your godly movements toward righteousness and true holiness. Oh my Father! You see how I have no power within myself to help myself. Guard me both outwardly in my body, and inwardly in my soul, so I can be defended from all trials that come to my body, and from all temptations that assault my mind today. Do it through the power of the cross of Jesus Christ and for his sake. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 19-21; Mark 11 Saturday, March 9 Psa. 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto childrens children; Merciful Lord and Master: I thank you for that contrasting conjunction between my frame of dust and your everlasting goodness: But! How wonderful is your mercy, which links my frailty with your eternality and makes me everlasting too! Thank you for choosing me to become a partaker of your grace. And since you are Jehovah the LORD, you do not change. That means I can give you an extended praise that your mercy is endless. Those who fear you find that neither their needs nor their sins have exhausted your grace. Hallelujah, what a Savior! The past commands my praise and the future invites it. Let me sing this Sunday so other generations can hear what you have done! I pray you would grant us a godly seed, and give us a spiritual legacy through discipleship. Just like the sweet Psalmist David hymned the various attributes of your nature, grace, and providence, so must I. Gather my energy this Sunday for a grand outburst of adoration in which all the subjects of the Great King can unite their life, their lips, their loyalty and allegiance. You call on angels to sing your praise. They dwell nearer your throne than I am allowed to climb. I am jealous, because they get to see the glory I want to adore. But then I am not jealous, because I get to adore that glory by faith before I ever see it. Give us a great weekend in your house. Have everybody there just to unite together in giving you thanksgiving. You deserve our best, our most, our highest, and you deserve that consistently and continually from my heart. Amen.

WHAT a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer. Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms Hell take and shield you; you will find a solace there. Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer. Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there. Joseph M. Scriven, 1855

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

MARCH 15-16

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
