Assemblies
Reason: To increase the clamping torque and eliminate loss of torque on the torquemeter shaft rear nut. Loose torquemeter nuts can result in oil leaks, bore wear in the gearbox cover and cracked covers.

Descriotion: The torquemeter shaft support is,reworked to accept a larger cross-section index pin to withstand increased nut assembly torque. The gearbox cover is reworked~to accept press fit pins to restrain the new cupwasher and prevent damage to the magnesium cover from increased nut torque. (Formerly, a key washer was used.) At assembly, the spanner nut is torqued to 390-400 lb. in. instead of 275-300 lb. in. formerly specified. The lip of the cupwasher is crimped into a nut slot. Following reidentified. rework,

Refer to Figure 3. At assembly, replace P/N 6820765 Headed Pin with new P/N 6886436 Headed Pin and P/N 6841690 Key Washer with new P/N 6886435 Cupwasher. Apply a light coat of anti-seize compound (never-seeze nickel special) to the threads of the torquemeter shaft support and to the spanner nut face and threads. Torque P/N 6810434 Spanner Nut to 390-400 lb. in. and deform lip of P/N 6886435 Cupwasher into a nut slot. Record compliance with 250 CEB-157 (C18), 250 CEB-1046 (C20), 250 TP CEB-10 (B15G) or 250 TP CEB-1029 (817) in the Gearbox Assembly (yellow pages) Modification Record, Part III of the Engine Log Book.
