To facilitate bearing removal without the chance of damage, a new compressor rear bearing is released to all Series I AND engines. The new bearing is the same as

superseded bearing except that it two small transverse slots in the OD of its outer ring for engaging with a two finger puller tool. Rework serviceable P/N 6851430, 6887189, 6870834 and 6874884 Compressor Rear Diffuser Assemblies to utilize the puller feature of new P/N 6889093 Compressor Rear (No. 2) Ball Bearing as follows: A, Add two equally-spaced, 0.220 in. wide slots in the wall of the diffuser bearing bore to the depth established by the 0.390 - 0,380 in, dimension. (See Figure 1.) Reidentify reworked rear diffuser assemblies by adding the following change letter after the existing part number per AS478-2Dl or 2E.
