All 250-B17 Engine Assemblies prior to S/N CAE 870060. All 250-B17B Engine Assemblies prior to S/N CAE 880190. NOTE: REASON: Applies to Bendix and/or CECO fuel systems.
The check valve will increase the back pressure on the CECO fuel control system to prevent the pressurizing valve in the CECO fuel control from oscillating under certain altitude conditions and will improve starting at altitude. Also, its cracking pressure, 22-28 psi, will prevent seepage through the V-slot fuel nozzle if the fuel control cutoff valve of Bendix or CECC fuel system is left open.
DESCRIPTION:
Part No. 6895171 Check Valve Assembly replaces the AN 832-4 Bulkhead Union where the fuel line to the nozzle passes through the horizontal fire-shield aft flange. The existing 7/16-20 jam nut and two washers which secure the union to the flange are also used to secure the check valve to the flange. Revision NO. 1 November 5, 1977

Install P/N 6895171 Check Valve where the fuel line to nozzle passes through the horizontal fireshield aft flange as follows: CAUTION Use containers and rags as necessary to minimize fuel spillage in the engine compartment when removing lines which contain fuel. Also, use care to prevent foreign materials from entering the lines. A. B. C. D. E. Disconnect fuel supply hose from the bulkhead union at fireshield aft flange (see Figure 1). Disconnect fuel control to fireshield head union. tube assembly from bulk-
Remove AN924-4C, -45, or -4K Nut, two AN960-716 Washers, and AN832-4C, -45, or -4K Union from fireshield aft flange. Install P/N 6895171 Check Valve using two AN960-716 Washers and AN924-4C, -45, or -4K Nut. Tighten jam nut 55-80 lb. in. Connect fuel control to fireshield tube assembly and fuel supply hose assembly to check valve. Tighten fuel tube coupling to 150-200 lb. in. and fuel supply hose coupling .to 89-120 lb. in. Check run the engine after check valve installation.
