To the Buddha of Medicine, King of Lapis Lazuli Light, I bow down.

Let the yogin who would put this into practice sit up straight in meditation posture upon a

taking refuge and generating enlightenment mind...

On a lion throne, lotus and lunar disc

RANG SEM HUNG T'ING 'TRO 'DU LE
Is my own mind in the form of the deep blue HUNGsyllable, and, by the radiation and
absorption of light rays from this,

DAG NYI CHOM DN MN LA'I KU
I myself appear in the bodily form of Victorious Lord, the Buddha of Medicine,

Deep blue in colour and perfect in the ornaments of the enlightened dimension of the
enjoyment of qualities.

CH'AG YN LHUNG ZE MN KANG NAM
His left hand holds a begging bowl filled with medicinal nectar,

YE PE SA NN T'EB SIN GYI
While the fingers of the right, in earthtouching gesture,
i3- o=-(/- :V?- =- :.2- :6/
NAM GYL MN 'DRE LO 'DAB 'DZIN
Hold the alltriumphant medicinal fruit along with its leaves.

He has silken robes and a necklace of precious jewels,

CHU LA NYA DANG TA BUR SL
And is to be visualised as (suddenly present) like a fish leaping out of water.

NYING K'AR A WA DHU TI NANG
In the avadhuti nerve in his heartcentre,

TSIT TA PE MA 'DAB GYE
In the centre of the eight petals of his mind (citta),

NAM SHE TING 'DZIN SEM PA' HUNG
Is his awareness, the being of profound meditative concentration, in the form of the syllable
HUNG,

YE SHE NGA DN RANG ' 'KYIL
Swirling with the fivecoloured light of its inherent radiance.

DE T'AR RANG NGAG TR'ENG WE KOR
Around this spins the garland of his personal mantra,

Radiating light, making offerings to the Victorious Ones, and dispelling

SHI GYA TSA SHI NE NAM SL
The four hundred and four illnesses of living beings,

And overthrowing the torments of illnesses related to bodily heat and cold.

With a sentiment of lovingkindness for living beings, recite the mantra:

My body dissolves upwards, from the edges in,

The expanse of space beyond all mental elaboration is the enlightened dimension of absolute
reality,

This concise daily practice of the Medicine Buddha was composed by the tantric priest,
