Prerequisites
Here is a listing of the technical requirements SAP NetWeaver usage type BI Java ECC 6 APPL 606 Portal SAP GUI 720 or higher with patchlevel higher than 4 including Business Explorer (BW-BEX)

SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise In case you want to publish the dashboards in the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE) you will need to set up and connect to BOE (optional) Install SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 (SP3) or higher. Install SAP BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions.

SAP Business Object Xcelcius In case you want to change the delivered dashboards you will need to set up Install SAP Business Object Xcelcius clients (optional) Install SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius 2008 (SP3) or higher.

Business Explorer (BW-BEX) In order to display analytic queries with BEx Web Analyzer, you have to Install BEx Web Application Designer BEx Web Application Designer is part of the Business Explorer (BW-BEX) installation. Install SAP GUI 7.20 or higher, including Business Explorer (BW-BEX).

ODP Basic Customizing The following steps are essential to activate the ODP functionality for operational analytics in ECC Customizing. Step 1 Assign User Roles In Transaction SU01 assign the user the following role SAP_ESH_LOCAL_ADMIN. This role contains the authorizations required to configure and manage the embedded search and operational data provisioning Step 2 Activate Web Dynpro Services In Transaction SICF activate the following Web Dynpro Services: default_host > sap > bc > bsp > sap > esh_sap_link default_host > sap > bc > webdynpro > sap > ESH_ADMIN_UI_COMPONENT default_host > sap > bc > webdynpro > sap > esh_eng_modelling default_host > sap > bc > webdynpro > sap > esh_eng_wizard default_host > sap > bc > webdynpro > sap > esh_search_results_ui default_host > sap > bc > webdynpro > sap > wdhc_help_center default_host > sap > es > cockpit default_host > sap > es > saplink default_host > sap > es > search

Step 3 Specify the RFC Destination In Transaction ESH_ADM_TREX_DEST you need to specify a TREX destination. Operational Data Providers can only be activated if you enter "NO TREX" under RFC Destination of TREX. This steps is necessary even if are not using a SAP NetWeaver BWA.

Step 4 Basic Configuration for Operational Analytics In Transaction RSRTS_ACTIVATE_R3IS assign Logical System to Client. At the start of the report, you need to enter the BW client on which you want to perform the basic configuration. This allows you to use operational data provisioning and Classic InfoSets in BI tools. Select the BW client and execute Please check if the following customizing is already set in your system: 1. As a rule, system changes are not permitted in production systems. However, the steps that are carried out during the operational analytics basic configuration imply changes to the system. Therefore, you should make the following settings, to ensure that the changes required for the basic configuration are permitted on the relevant clients. Go to IMG Logistics General Product Data Replication Application Link Enabling (ALE) open the Assign Logical System to Client customizing setting Select the relevant client and choose Goto Details. In the Cross-Client Object Changes field, chooseNo Changes to Cross-Client Customizing Objects. This setting allows you to maintain cross-client objects from the SAP repository. 2. Changes in the BW namespaces In transaction SE03 under Objects Namespace Information System the name space s /BIC/ and /BI0/ must be flagged as changeable.

Step 5 Determine the Modeling Client In Transaction RODPS_ODP_IMG specify the modeling client that you want to use as the client for ODP metadata access. This specifies the RFC destination that is used to read the ODP modeling. This allows you to run the Query from other clients as well.

Sales and Distribution ODP Customizing


These steps are necessary to activate the logistic specific standard reports delivered by SAP which can be directly used once the customizing of LOG_SD_ANALYTICS_01 business function are accomplished.

Step 7 Activate the Necessary Data Sources In Transaction LBWE the Logistics Customizing Cockpit the SAP ERP system uses the Data Sources pointed out in the step before. These Data Sources are to be activated.

Step 8 Define F4 Help and Hierarchies for Time Characteristics In customizing under IMG SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Settings for Reporting and Analysis General Settings for Reporting and Analysis Set F4 Help and Hierarchies for Time Characteristics/OLAP Settings an activate the following under Tab Virtual Time Hierarchies by double clicking them.

Step 9 Activate the Business Function Sales and Distribution In the SAP ERP system, call Transaction SFW5 and activate the business function Sales and Distribution, Analytics 01 (LOG_SD_ANALYTICS_01).

Step 10 Activate the BI Reporting Bundle for Sales and Distribution In Transaction BSANLY_BI_ACTIVATION select business category 03(business function) select the BI Content LOG_SD_ANALYTICS_01 for Sales Analytics and activate it.

Executing the Activated Bex Queries and Dashboards


Now you must be good to go with executing the Queries. The delivered queries and dashboards are assigned to a role named Internal Sales Representative SAP_SR_INT_SALES_REP_5. This role is to be assigned to your user. In order to execute the queries and the dashboards in ECC you also need the role SAP_QAP_BW_DASHBOARDS and the profile T-Q3970370 assigned to your user. Furthermore, you need to have a portal user created for your user. The portal in ECC needs to have a BI-JAVA. If ECC has its own BI JAVA then you are fine, otherwise if your ECCs portal uses another ECCs BI JAVA, then in that ECC you need to have a user as well. Execute the Transaction NWBC Select the role SAP_SR_INT_SALES_REP_5 Select Search and Analytics from the left
