Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) is a member driven professional body of banks, financial institutions and their employees in India. Established in 1928 IIBF has during its 83 years of existence emerged as a premier institute for banking and finance education to those who employed and for those aiming for employment in banks and financial institution. IIBF is the only Bankers Institution in India formed by the bankers and for the bankers/financial Institution. The governing body of IIBF consists of CMDs of various public and private sector banks. Currently Shri K R Kamath, CMD of Punjab National Bank is the president of IIBF. IIBF offers, to the college students, a Diploma Course in Banking and Finance (DB&F) which is equivalent to the industry recognized JAIIB qualification provided to the bankers. DB&F is an entry point qualification for jobs which is recognized by Indian Bankers Association. Banks and financial Institutions gives preference to those candidates who have completed DB&F course of IIBF for employment. Students who have completed 12th std. as well as final year graduate/post graduate students in any discipline and aspire for a career in banking and finance can take up this course. The syllabus, registration/ examination form etc. are available on our website www.iibf.org.in. Eligibility: Minimum 12th passed Subjects of Examination: 1. Principles & Practices of Banking 2. Accounting & Finance for Bankers 3. Legal & Regulatory Aspects of Banking Examination: Offline and Online mode Papers with Multiple Choice Questions Exam held twice a year May & November Educational Support Courseware, Web classes, Contact Classes (At selected centers), E-Learning etc. Tutorial classes arranged through accredited Institute. Examination fees: Block I (2 attempts) : Rs. 3596/- (Rs.3200/- + Service Tax 12.36% =395.52) Block II (2 attempts) : Rs. 2697/- (Rs.2400/- + Service Tax 12.36% =296.64) DB&F has a core banking e-learning Medium of Examination: The examination will be conducted in English medium only. Passing Criteria: Candidate has to clear all the three subjects within four consecutive attempts with 50% marks. Time Limit: Candidate is required to pass the examination within a time limit of 2 years (i.e. 4 consecutive attempts). Candidate has to pay the fees block wise. Procedure to apply for the Examination: From May 2013 examination, a candidate has to Register/Enroll online for examination through our website www.iibf.org.in No hard copy (paper) of application will be accepted by the Institute. Registration will be open from last week of January2013. Study material/Work book The institute has published study books to facilitate study and they will be available at outlets/ showrooms/ distributors of M/s. Macmillan India Ltd./ Taxmann Publication Pvt. Ltd as under: Name of the Book Publisher Study books in English Medium Macmillan India Ltd. Work Book in English Medium Taxmann Publication Pvt. Ltd. Candidates may purchase the courseware directly from outlets/ showrooms/ distributors of the above Publishers. Candidates who purchase books directly from outlets of publishers will be offered discount of 20% on the cost price of the book. Candidates desirous of purchasing books by post will not be offered any discount. However the postage will be borne by the publishers. Candidates would be required to send their indent to publishers outlet along with a Demand Draft for the cost of book/s. the Demand Draft should be drawn in favor of M/s. Taxman Publication Pvt Ltd. and or M/s Macmillan India Ltd. as the case may be. (No Cheques will be accepted). Candidates are requested not to send any request for the purchase of books to the Institutes Zonal Office/ Corporate Office. Other Features: DB&F is a distance education program and equivalent to JAIIB (an industry recognized professional qualification in banks) DB&F will impart banking knowledge and skills together with technology familiarity and customer orientation. Indian Bank Association has approved DB&F as a desirable qualification along with other prescribed entry level qualification for recruitment in officer cadre.

Support by IIBF: Resume of successful candidates shall be hosted on IIBFs website and made available to its member Banks / Financial Institutions. The next DB&F examination will be held on 12, 19 and 26th May 2013. Registration/Enrollment of Examination will be available on web site in last week of January 2013.
