Clinton Community College, a co-educational institution chartered by the Clinton County Board of Supervisors in 1966, first opened its doors in September 1969. Operating under the approval of the Board of Trustees of the State University of New York, it is one of 30 locally sponsored community colleges in New York State. Spring 2012 student enrollment was 1,912 students. The college, known for its commitment to students, enrolled 1,125 full-time and 787 part-time students. The average age of our students is 23. Class size generally ranges from 18 - 30 students with an average class size of approximately 17. The college also enrolls approximately 3,246 students each year in workshops, seminars, and conferences. The college had 57 full-time and 95 part-time faculty for the 2012 Spring semester. The academic organization of the college is divided into 10 Department Chairs and a Director of Nursing as shown below. Each Department Chair is responsible to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Cheryl A. Reagan. Part-Time Faculty Application Procedure All part-time faculty teaching candidates must submit to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the following information and items: 1. Letter of application indicating area(s) interested in teaching, availability as to day/evening. 2. Candidates applying to teach English must provide a brief personal philosophy statement on how they teach writing. 3. Complete unofficial transcripts of your college degree(s) and other significant course work. Official transcripts are required upon appointment. 4. Resume including the names, addresses and telephone numbers of three current references. 5. Clinton Community College Employment Application (on our website http://www.clinton.edu/Information/ProAppRevJune03.pdf) Applications are reviewed by the appropriate Department Chair of the Discipline(s) the candidate is interested in teaching. Candidates who meet the requirements specified are interviewed by the appropriate Department Chair as openings for additional part-time faculty occur. Part-Time Teaching Opportunities

1. Part-Time Faculty teach days and evenings. 2. Part-Time Faculty may teach one, two or three courses not to exceed 11.99 credit hours per semester. 3. Day classes usually meet on the hour MWF and 8:00, 9:30, 11:00, 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30 on TTH. Labs usually run for two consecutive hours on various days of the week. 4. Most evening classes run from 6:00-8:45 pm. Statement of Mission (Adopted November, 1988) Clinton Community College is a "community college" committed to enhancing the well-being of each individual by providing access to a college educational experience which promotes the intellectual, social and personal development of all who wish to, and demonstrate the ability to, benefit. The college assumes a responsibility for the improvement of the quality of life within Clinton County and seeks to link its programs of study to the needs of individuals, businesses, organizations and the community. To fulfill the mission, the college will offer and continue to develop university parallel programs, terminal associate degree programs and other appropriate career programs. The college is also committed to a wide range of courses, workshops and seminars appropriate for job skills development, leisure time activities and healthful living, as well as to provide opportunities for community enrichment. Goals (Adopted May, 1991) 1. To promote excellence in teaching and learning. 2. To provide associate degree programs which enable graduates to transfer into and complete (a) bachelor's degree programs, (b) associate degree and certificate programs in career fields which will prepare students for successful employment in those fields, and (c) courses which will allow students to meet their individual educational goals. 3. To set standards that assure our students in academic programs demonstrate competency in written communication, quantitative analysis and critical reasoning. 4. To recognize and encourage diversity in our college community by (a) creating opportunities which will challenge the most prepared and assist the less well prepared students, (b) reaching out to non-traditional student populations and expanding their opportunities for higher education, and (c) providing courses, programs, scheduling, activities, and services which respond to various interests and needs. 5. To provide and encourage cultural, intellectual, and recreational activities for students outside the classroom, and to extend these opportunities to the community. 6. To promote an environment that encourages personal success by enhancing student's sense of self-esteem and selfconfidence. 7. To encourage an understanding of other cultures and of global interdependencies. 8. To provide resources to support our programs, while maintaining tuition and fees at a level which will allow all capable and motivated students the opportunity to attend the college. 9. To serve the community by providing opportunities for (a) life-long learning, (b) work force development, and (c) cultural enrichment; and by making available college facilities, staff, resources, and programs. 10.
