Hands On Business
1.1 OVER THE SHOULDER: Shot of Antonio loading the dough mixer. I chose to shoot this over his shoulder from an elevated position. This allowed me to capture the full scene within the very limited space of the room, and also allows a view of the inside of the mixer, which would not be present from other angles. 1.2 WIDE: Antonio was our rst interviewee, and as we had already decided to try and lm our subjects within their workplace, we decided to shoot him over the counter where he serves customers. This location and shot worked pretty well, with nice natural light and interesting, relevant material in the background. 1.3 WIDE: We maintained the usage of the wide shot for all the interviews to lend them similarity, and it again worked well whilst interviewing Rosie. This setup is almost identical to Antonios and again is bolstered by the natural light coming in from the right of the frame and the interesting backdrop, which includes a map of chelsea road.

1.4 WIDE: When interviewing Gary, we came across a bit of a problem in that the ofce that we were allowed to use for lming was pretty bare. I tried to set this up as similar to the other three interviews as possible and the basic elements are there, the wide coverage of the workplace, the light coming in from the side (albiet the left in this instance). But in the end the lack of interesting backdrop lets the shot down.

1.5 WIDE: For Fionas interview, we used the same setup as the others, and there is a fairly interesting display in the backdrop.

1.6 MEDIUM CLOSE UP: a close up of the front door of Antonios pizzarella, also incorporating the adjacent road. The way the sign and building t into the frame works really well whilst still allowing space to show Chelsea Road.

1.7 EXTREME CLOSE UP: Extreme Close of of Antonios dough mixer at work. I tried a few different takes of this shot, focusing in and zooming, but I found just the straight close up to be the best.

1.8 WIDE: Low angle shot of the spar sign. This was taken early in the morning, in low light so the aperture and shutter speed were set accordingly. This shot was taken as an establishing shot.

1.9 MEDIUM CLOSE UP: Close up of Antonio working with the dough. I shot this low and handheld and was very happy with how it turned out.

1.10 MEDIUM CLOSE UP: Shot of peoples feet walking into the Spar, shot handheld.

1.11 EXTREME CLOSE UP: Shot of Antonio shaping the dough. This shot works very well.

1.12 MEDIUM: Shot of Antonio weighing the dough from a reverse angle to all the other footage of him making pizza.

1.13 MEDIUM: Dough going through the nal stages. I decided to focus on the hands and actions for these shots.

1.14 MEDIUM: Shot of Antonio ipping the pizza. I decided to try and follow the pizza through the air with the lens and managed to get a couple of good shots of it.

1.15 OVER THE SHOULDER: Another reverse angle shot of antonio topping the pizzas.

1.16 OVER THE SHOULDER: Antonio loading the pizzas into the oven. The particularly bright light from the windows was a slight issue here, but does not distract from the scene too much.

1.17 WIDE: The next series of shots come from our shoot of the spars early morning deliveries. As it was dark whilst we were lming, I worked at a higher shutter speed to capture more of the image. I set up the shot primarily to show the rear of the truck and the unloading process but in doing that was able to provide a sort of symmetary with the parallel lines running through the image and the pavement and buildings on either side of the road allowed me to posistion the truck in the middle third of the screen.

1.18 MEDIUM: for the rest of the shots in the dark, I continued to lm on a high shutter speed to bring things out in the low light. This shot is of products being unloaded from the truck and wheeled offscreen to the left.

1.19 PAN: Pan following the delivery down the pavement and into the shop doorway.

1.20 WIDE: Reverse angle of deliveries entering the shop.

1.21 WIDE: Shot of the truck of the street, another that could be used as an establishing shot for the spar as in includes both the previously seen trucks and the sign together on Chelsea road. I think this shot in particular is one of the best in the lm, the lighting and the skyline in the background make it very interesting to look at.

1.22 MEDIUM CLOSE UP: Close up of a hand taking a product off a shelf inside Spar, shot on handheld, as was most of the interior stuff in spar due to space constraints.

1.23 MEDIUM: employee working the till. This was one of the earliest planned shots for the lm and I took it with the camera on my shoulder just behind the checkout.

1.24 PAN: Clsoe-up pan of the map on the wall in Rosies ofce, panning from bath city centre to chelsea road. Several takes were made of this, and I do think it's a really good shot. But I'm not sure it will t into the pace of the nal edit.

1.25 MEDIUM: shot of rosie working at her keyboard and answering the phone.

1.26 WIDE: alternate angle of Rosie working and answering the phone, not a bad shot but possibly too similar to the angle of the interview.

1.27 MEDIUM CLOSE UP: establishing shot of the estate agent sign above the door.

1.28 WIDE: second angle on the establishing shot for the estate agent sign.

1.29 MEDIUM: Shot from a very high angle covering the process of the nail treatment.
