Short-listing criteria of IIMs The expected number of CAT takers would be somewhere around 1.75 L and around 7500 students are expected to receive GD-PI calls for the 3000 odd IIM seats. This translates to roughly 4-5 percent of the total test-taking population. Considering that equal competence across sections is emphasised by the IIMs and some weightage is also assigned to academic background and work experience, we expect the IIM cut-offs this year to be lower than that of last year.
