Printing Applications

KIP Request is an easy-to-use application that provides remote users with an efficient method of printing single documents or collated sets through the network. KIP PrintNet is a web browser based printing utility compatible with standard web browsers which shares a uniform interface with KIP Request software. KIP AutoCAD drivers enable printing directly from AutoCAD technical design applications. The KIP Windows driver enables printing directly from all types of Windows based applications. Standard TCP/IP connectivity ensures easy integration with UNIX based software applications.

Feature / Function Select the preferred print language. Select portrait or landscape document direction. Designate the percentage of desired enlargement or reduction. Selects the total number of prints. Selects the output media type. Select from standard pre-set paper sizes. In addition, users have the ability to create custom page sizes. Designate dpi of the printed image to match the KIP printer. Control greyscale colour range including brightness and contrast. Allows accounting to be used from Windows applications. Places document identification text in the margin of a printed document. Users may designate the size and location of the header. For use with KIPFold systems. Assigns folding instructions to a document. Documents print as a mirror image of the native data. Reverse the print order of a multi-page document - last page first, first page last.

On the left side of the main screen are buttons to allow advanced settings and configuration of prints. Manage: Manage the print queue Pen configuration: Control pen widths, dither patterns and raster density Force Size: Enlargement/reduction of image and page size Stamp: Create and apply text and/or image watermarks Fold: Assigns folding instructions to documents Header: Places document identification text in the margin of a printed document. Mirror: Mirrors the print data Invert: Reverses the image View: Activate or deactivate print preview capability

Stamp Pen Advanced Settings Retrieve Scanned Images using KIP Request*
Scanned Images may be retrieved by navigating to the KIP mailbox in the Folder Selection area of KIP Request. The names and locations of image mailboxes are configured at the KIP 3000 operator panel. Select the mailbox containing the desired scanned images. Images may be previewed and printed before transmission by following the standard method of print preview in KIP Request. After preview, simply right click on mailbox and select "Transfer current scan directory" to transfer the image files to a local drive or other networked storage location.

Feature / Function Users may send prints to multiple locations by clicking the printer name to scroll through available KIP printers. Provides access to advanced features and configuration information. Utilises standard Microsoft Windows functionality for browsing, including subfolders. Displays the contents of a designated folder. Users may select files to print from within this Window. Select to send files to the KIP printer. Apply settings related to pen tables, media, stamping, folding, copy count and print/image size. In addition, password protected fields allow for job accounting including user name, job number and description. Any file in the file window may be instantly previewed. After selecting a file, click the preview window to view. Displays current printer status, installed media and meter info via network connection. Real Time information is automatically updated. Displays print order and settings applied to each file. Provides "drag and drop" file selection capability from Windows Explorer for user convenience. Provides easy access to advanced features including pen tables, enlargement/reduction, stamp, fold, mirror, invert, etc.

Feature / Function Configures printer status and accounting preferences to match the settings applied in KIP Request software. Provides media and advanced pen controls to override the default print settings. Adjustment for raster embedded images including gamma and density controls. Line merge and colour overlay control. Ensure maximum image quality by selecting preset dot patterns. Users can designate individual settings for Raster and Vector data. Provides line thickness settings to override the default print settings. Allows users to select desired media type, fold parameters (if applicable), auto-rotation (paper save) and header information. Used for accounting / job tracking and header information. Preset stamps from KIP Request may also be selected. Displays current printer status via network connection. Status information includes installed media type, roll size and meter counts. Displays currently selected KIP printer.

Requires an access password before use. Terminate the current KIP PrintNet session. Users may control administrative features and manage the print queue. In addition, password protected fields allow for job accounting including user name, job number and description. Restores KIP PrintNet to default settings for new print job creation. Allows users to build print jobs by adding or removing files and displays the name and print order of selected files. Browse to select the file(s) for printing from the PC / LAN. Places document identification text in the margin of a printed document. Users may designate the size and location of the header. Allows users to mirror, invert and collate documents. Electronic job receipt is sent to the email address provided by the user. Select to send files to the KIP printer. Allows users to delete print jobs and view real-time system status, including roll sizes and media types.
