Senior Needling Lab (TCM)


Senior students evolve their needling skills via this primarily hands-on course. Students are guided by faculty, to needle numerous combinations of acupuncture points. Remedial Exercise 1 (RMT)
The theory and practice of remedial exercise assessment, plan development, implementation and evaluation. Range of motion and stretching is also presented. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Advanced Techniques 1-4 & Myology 1 Tuesdays 8:30 -10:30am April 2 to June 18

Integrative Studies (All)

A study of provincial and federal law, as it applies to registered massage therapists. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 3:15pm 5:15pm April 2 to June 18

Meridian Theory (NHSc/TCM)


This subject explores energetic pathways and their functions. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 6:00 - 8:00pm April 9 to June 25

Reflexology 1 (NHSc/SPA)
Learn the principles, theory & practice of Reflexology. Learn zones of the foot & specific reflexes for the major organs & glands. Hands-on experience. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 6:00 9:00pm April 16 to June 4

Point Location 1 (TCM)


Students learn the location of approximately 50% of the bodys acupuncture points. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Tuesdays 8:00pm - 10:00pm April 9 to June 25

Anatomy 7 (RMT/TCM)

Physiology 6 (RMT/TCM)
A deeper study of energy formation in the cell, the nervous system and metabolism. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Physiology 5 Wednesdays 8:30 10:30am April 3 to June 19

Modern Physical Diseases (TCM)


Learn acupuncture/acupressure & Chinese herbal treatments for modern disorders such as Carpal Tunnel, TMJ, IBS, Herpes and more. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis Wednesdays 8:30 -10:30am April 3 to June 19

Point Combinations 1 (TCM)


Learn how the individual acupuncture points can be combined to treat many disorders. (24 hrs 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Acupuncture Point Location 1, 2 & TCM Diagnosis Wednesdays 10:30am 12:30pm April 3 to June 19

Physiology 7 (TCM/RMT)
Students continue to study the finer aspects of the nervous system. This course also takes an in-depth look into the muscular system, including a study of skeletal and smooth muscle, and the cardiovascular system. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Physiology 6 Wednesdays 10:30am 12:30pm April 3 to June 19

Communications & the Healthcare Professional (ALL)


Learn the key characteristics for day-to-day communications with clients and understand the personal and client needs. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite Wednesdays 10:30am - 12:30pm April 3 to June 19

Off-Sites (IAM)
Practice massage skills, acquired in-class, in a variety of public settings. Some off-sites are available for other therapists please enquire. (48 hrs 2 units) Pre-requisite: Massage 4 & Anatomy/Physiology 4 Wednesdays 1:15pm 5:15pm April 3 to June 19

Client Assessment 1 (RMT)

This dynamic ride of your life course guides you towards taking a positive approach to daily food requirements. Evolve your understanding of pH balance, food and non-fanatical healthy living. Learn the Chinese herbal treatments and acupuncture points for pregnancy, infertility, post-partum and female ailments. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: TCM Diagnosis Thursdays 9:30am 12:30pm April 25 to June 13

Hydrotherapy 2 (RMT/SPA)

Acupuncture Without Needles (NHSc/TCM/All)


Learn acupuncture point stimulation methods, that do not puncture the skin. Methods include various techniques. (12 hrs unit) Pre-requisite: Point Location 1 & 2 Saturdays 9:00am 4:00pm April 13, 20

Cranio-Sacral Therapy (NHSc)


Students will be introduced to the structure and function of the cranio-sacral system. Learn how to palpate the cerebrospinal fluid movement within that system, to assess and treat, using the 10-step protocol developed by Dr. John Upledger. (24 hours 1 unit) No pre-requisite April 13, 14, 27, 28

Massage 1 (NHSc/RMT/SPA)
Introduction to basic theory & practice of body massage. (24 hrs - 1 unit) No pre-requisite April 13, 14, 20, 21

Herb Walk (NHSc)


Identify and learn the uses of common local herbs. Bring good walking shoes & explore a nearby lake area. At noon, return to the Academy for a pot-luck lunch. Then discuss your discoveries. Come and enjoy! (5 hrs) No pre-requisite Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm Fee $35 per person April 27

Practical training in head-to-toe relaxation techniques. Full body massage. (24 hrs - 1 unit) Pre-requisite: Massage 1 May 4, 5, 11, 12
