18" Doll Cardigan in Merino 5

Materials 2 - 50 gr balls Crystal Palace Merino 5 for doll? sweater #9816 s "dogwood pinks" Size 5 and 8, 16" CPY Bamboo circular knitting needles Size 7 - 26" CPY Bamboo circular needle for yoke 8 Stitch markers 3 Buttons Gauge: 20 sts = 4" in stockinette st Abbreviations: Beg - beginning; pm - place marker; rs - right side; ws - wrong side; Sk2p - sl 1, K2 tog, psso; St st - stockinette stitch; Instructions Work the pieces in the following order, ending by purling them onto the circular needle to continue working yoke in one piece. Left Front - Using smaller needles, cast on 17 sts. Beginning with a purl st, work 3 rows P1-K1 ribbing. Change to larger needle and continue in st st until piece measures 3", ending by working a rs row. Purl the left front onto the size 7 circular needle and cut yarn, leaving 12" tail. Left Sleeve - Using smaller needle, cast on 21 sts. Work ribbing as for left front. Change to larger needle and K, increasing 6 sts evenly spaced across row. Continue in st st until sleeve measures 3.5". End by working a rs row. Purl the sleeve onto the circular needle; cut yarn. Back - Using smaller needle, cast on 35 sts. Work ribbing as for left front. Change to larger needle and K one row. Work in st st until piece measures 3". Ending by working a rs row. Purl the back onto the circular needle; cut yarn. Right Sleeve - work as for left sleeve and purl onto circular needle; cut yarn.

Right front - Work as for left front and purl onto circular needle 123 sts. Do not cut yarn. Joining Row - With rs facing, knit across right front to 1 st before end of front, place marker, knit next st together with first st of sleeve, place marker, work across sleeve to last st, place marler and K this st together with first st of back, place marker. Continue in this manner to end of row - 119 sts. Knit one row on ws, then knit 1 row and purl 1 row. Decrease row: K to 2 sts before marker, K2 tog, sl marker, K1, sl marker, SSK. Continue in this manner across row, decreasing before and after each marker - 111 sts. K one row on wrong side, removing markers. Begin eyelet pattern: 12345678K1, P1, *K3, P5* to last 5 sts, K3, P1, K1 - 111 sts. K the K sts, P the P sts K1, P1, *sl 1, K2, psso, P5* to last 5 sts, sl 1, K2, psso, P1, K1. P1, K1, *P1, yo, P1, K5* to last 4 sts, P1, yo, P1, K1, P1. K1, P1, P1, K1, K1, P1, P1, K1, *K3, P3, P2 tog* to last 5 sts, K3, P1, K1 - 98 sts *P3, K4* to last 5 sts, P3, K1, P1. *sl 1, K2, psso, P4* to last 5 sts, sl 1, K2, psso, P1, K1. *P1, yo, P1, K4* to last 4 sts, P1, yo, P1, K1, P1.

9- K1, P1, *K3, P2, P2 tog* to last 5 sts, K3, P1, K1 - 85 sts 10- P1, K1, *P3, K3* to last 5 sts, P3, K1, P1. 11- K1, P1, *sl 1, K2, psso, P3* to last 5 sts, sl 1, K2, psso, P1, K1. 12- P1, K1, *P1, yo, P1, K3* to last 4 sts, P1, yo, P1, K1, P1. 131415161718K1, P1, *K3, P1, P2 tog* to last 5 sts, K3, P1, K1 - 72 sts P1, K1, *P3, K2* to last 5 sts, P3, K1, P1. Change to smaller needles and work 4 rows K1-P1 ribbing. Bind off in ribbing, using tip of larger needle. Buttonhole Band: Using smaller needle and with right side facing, pick up and knit 1 st in ea row across bottom ribbing, *pick up and knit 1 st In end of next 3 rows, skip 1 row* to neck ribbing, pick up 1 st in end of ea row. Work 3 rows K1-P1 ribbing. Buttonholes: Rib to garter ridge at beg of yoke ending with a K st, yo, K2 tog, Make 2 more buttonholes evenly spaced. Work 3 more rows K1-P1 ribbing, Bind off.

Pick up for button band in same manner and work 7 rows in K1-P1 ribbing. Sew on buttons. Work left front band to match right front band, eliminating buttonholes. Sew underarm and side seams. Attach 3 buttons.
