The Taholah School District will address several conditions that affect the health and
safety of students and staff in the Taholah School, which enrolls 230 children of the
Quinault Nation in grades K through 12. The project will repair the building’s failing roof,
replace and upgrade the fire safety system, correct electrical system deficiencies, and
replace the facility’s heating system.

The Browning Elementary School District will build a new elementary school facility to
replace the Babb Elementary School, which currently enrolls 34 children of the Blackfeet
Reservation in grades K through 6. The existing Babb School, built in 1903, suffers from
a series of emergency conditions including an inadequate sewage system, failure to
meet handicapped accessibility requirements, failure to meet electrical and plumbing
codes, and a condemned basement and foundation in the main building.

The Bering Strait School District will replace the Brevig Mission School, which currently
enrolls 114 Alaska Native students in grades K through 12. Extreme overcrowding in the
current school and the use of modular classrooms physically separated from the main
building causes serious health, hygiene and safety issues for students and staff during
extreme winter weather conditions.

The Wyola Elementary School District will correct two emergency conditions in the
Wyola Elementary School, which enrolls 49 children of the Crow Indian Reservation in
grades K through 8. The projects will replace a faulty fire safety system and eliminate
degraded asbestos floor tiles in the gymnasium.

The Rocky Boy Elementary School District will address health and safety deficiencies in
the Rocky Boy Elementary School, which enrolls 339 children of the Rocky Boy Indian

The Zuni Public Schools will address multiple emergency repair needs in the Zuni Middle
School, which enrolls 387 children of the Zuni Reservation. The project will install a new
fire alarm and suppression system and improve the heating, ventilation, and cooling
system to address health issues that result from inadequate heating and cooling. The
project will also repair a portion of the facility’s roof.

handicapped accessibility requirements.

The Hays/Lodge Pole School District will complete construction of a replacement

elementary school. The existing facility, Lodge Pole Elementary School, enrolls 127
children from the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation and has many health and safety
issues including inadequate sewer and plumbing systems, faulty electrical wiring, and a
failing roof and heating, ventilation, and cooling system.

The Crown Charter School will acquire and install modular restroom facilities that will
permit the school to provide sufficient safely accessible restrooms for its students.
Currently, 130 students attend the Crown Charter School; many of these children are
dependents of military personnel posted at Luke Air Force Base.
