to km/h. As a high-revving engine, the M TwinPower Turbo -cylinder
petrol powerplant in the all new BMW M makes a singularly forceful
statement when it comes to performance and acceleration. The combined
forces of M-typical linear delivery and enormous thrust from the double
turbocharger fully exploit the superb pulling power of the high-performance
engine. The generous dimensions of the intercoolers and the patented
TwinScroll charging concept ensure extraordinary responsiveness. Huge
torque is available across a wide engine speed range with emphatic forward
thrust on tapfromjust over idle right through to high revs. Thanks to Valvetronic
and High Precision Injection, the engine also sets benchmarks when it comes
to the performance to fuel consumption ratio. In combination with BMW
EfcientDynamics features, such as the Auto Start/Stop function and Brake
Energy Regeneration, the result is average consumption of just .
litres.
High torque is available across an extremely broad range of engine speeds: from
,, or little more than idle, to a high-revving , rpm. It means consistently
strong performance and linear power delivery.

Safety. The BMW ConnectedDrive functions in this core area comprise safety-oriented services that significantly reduce the dangers of road traffic
with features such as the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display.
BMW Night Vision with Pedestrian Recognition and
Acute Warning.
An optional infrared camera in the kidney grille detects people and
animals up to a distance of metres, displaying its images on the
Control Display. Pedestrian Recognition also gives a visual warning
to indicate any people moving close to the road, up to a distance of
metres ahead. This enables the driver to recognise dangerous
situations sooner and take more timely action.
Lane Departure Warning and Lane Change Warning.
At speeds above around km/h, the optional Lane Departure Warning
system registers lane markings ahead, up to a distance of metres.
If the vehicle threatens to swerve out of its lane, the system warns the
driver by making the steering wheel vibrate. If the driver has activated
the indicator meaning that the lane change is intentional no warning
is given. The optional Lane Change Warning system warns the driver
with a visual signal integrated into the exterior mirror if there is a vehicle
located in the drivers blind spot or approaching fast from behind.
Full-colour Head-Up Display*.
The full-colour Head-Up Display enables drivers to keep their attention
on the road at all times. Key information is projected directly into the
drivers eld of vision, using a multi-colour TFT display. Information
shown on the full-colour Head-Up Display includes the current road
speed and navigation instructions.

The exterior paint finish choices present shining examples of the highest
standards. What the eye perceives as a fascinating interplay of luminous tones
arises from unique pigmentation. This is what gives the BMW Individual
Moonstone metallic paintwork its unparalleled depth. Indeed, the three-
dimensional, ever-changing shimmer caused by exceptionally high light refraction
is only exceeded by diamonds. Under the varying play of light, just like moonlight,
this finish iridesces between bluish silver and warm yellow-gold. Its an effect
that lends a polished elegance to the powerful impression of the all new
BMW Individual M. Harmony in contrast, meanwhile, is established by the
BMWIndividual fine-grain Merino leather in Cohiba Brown, with its strong, yet
warm tone. Combining exclusive elegance with the highest comfort, this
satin-soft, breathable leather is distinguished by hand-craftsmanship that
ensures an unspoilt natural grain with an almost tangible sense of nobility.
The sense of luxury is further underlined by leather trims used on an even
more generous scale than in the Series models. The interior trim in Piano
Finish Black is a perfect match for the dark leather. Working with this finish
also requires a high degree of craftsmanship. Creating the highly polished
surface, matched only by leading piano manufacturers, can only be achieved
through a special buffing process. An elegant alternative is presented by
interior trims in precious woods, with their own characteristic grain and stylishly
nuanced colours. Again, these are outstanding qualities brought about by
finishing methods associated with the highest levels of craftsmanship.
