INTRODUCTION: The Reform Movement and the Katipunan. The deliberate and unjust execution of three Filipino martyrs Fathers Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos and Jacinto Zamora, in effect became as significant turning point in the history of the Filipino people, for it heralded the dawn of a new day - the reform movement. The Filipino intellectuals in the Philippines were secretly communicating with Filipino patriots who depend their country and its interests in Europe and founded nationalist societies. This campaign for reforms was popularly known as the Propaganda Movement. Dr. Jose Rizal and other Filipino intellectuals that formed the corps of reformists.

BODY: Marcelo H. Del Pilar- Exponent of Justice. Born on August 30, 1850 in Bulacan. He was a lawyer, journalist and political analyst involving political affairs of Filipinos in Spain. Studied at the Collegio de San Jose; lately, University Sto. Tomas and finish a law curse in 1880. He wrote articles ridiculing the Spanish authority and exposed the injustices attendant to its administration. This political analyst and reformist died on July 14, 1896. He was the greatest journalist of purely Filipino blood. Father of Philippine Masonry. He became a freemason in 1889 and became a close friend of Miguel Morayta Sagrario. The La Solidaridad. The newspaper of the reform movement as its brought to the attention of the various problems in the country. In one issue, the editorial carried the portrayal of the deplorable conditions in the Philippines and to carry on the legitimate aspirations of the Filipino people to attain democracy and freedom. Marcelo H. Del Pilar is one of the Filipino reformists used pen names in the articles Taga-ilog he wrote for the Sol for obvious reasons.

CONCLUSION: I therefore conclude that Marcelo H. Del Pilar was considered the Father of Philippine Masonry; Del Pilar spearheaded the secret organization of Masonic Lodges in the Philippines as a means of strengthening the Propaganda Movement.
