You are invited to begin or end your day with Lectio Divina, an ancient prayer practice of holy reading. The Church invites us to encounter Christ through the sacred scriptures. Join Fr. Rene Costanza, CSP, and a small group of participants in the Paulist Hall for 45 minutes of praying with scripture at either 7:15 a.m. or 7 p.m. in accordance with the following schedule:
February 28 Introduction March 7 March 14 March 21 The Encounter with the Samaritan Woman (Jn 4:5-42) The Cure of the Man Born Blind (Jn 9:1-41) The Raising of Lazarus (Jn 11:1-45)
Three disciples experience the transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain. Peter misunderstands the purpose and the experience and they all respond with fear. They hear a voice which tells them, This is my chosen Son; listen to him. Do you sometimes respond to an experience of God with misunderstanding, doubt and fear? How can your faith help you to listen to Jesus voice with confidence and hope?

Generally, all Catholics 1859 years of age are obliged to fast on Good Friday. In addition, Catholics aged 14 years and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays during Lent. Fasting is only having one full meal. Some food is permitted at the other usual meal times as long as they do not equal another full meal. Abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not eggs, milk products, seasonings and condiments made from animal fat, or products made from meat juices, such as gravies or broths.
