Issue of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Examination Certificate (BAMEC).

1.

Introduction The Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Examination Certificate is issued to a person who meets the requirements of this CAR. The certificate establishes the fact that he/she has acquired a level of knowledge relevant to the stream/category of AME Licence to be granted by passing the written examinations conducted by DGCA. This part of the CAR lays down the procedure for issue of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Certificate. This CAR is issued under the provisions of Rule 133A of Aircraft Rules 1937.

Procedure Central Examination Organisation (CEO) shall issue result sheets to individual candidates for examination subject/module passed by them. Upon completion of all subject/module for a stream/category of licence, the applicant for the certificate may apply to CEO (DGCA) on application format enclosed as appendix I, for the issuance of the certificate. (No fee is required for the issue of this certificate).

The Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Examination Certificate does not confer any certification privileges. 4. Categories Certificate. Stream Mechanical stream (Aeroplane and Powerplants) of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Examination

Category

Light Aeroplanes (LA) Heavy Aeroplanes (HA) Piston Engine (PE) Jet Engine (JE) Rotary Wing Aircraft Piston Engine (PE) Jet Engine (JE) (RA),

Mechanical stream (Helicopters and Powerplants) Avionics stream

Electrical System (ES), Instrument System(IS) Radio Navigation System (RN)

Example:- A person who has passed Paper-1, 2 & 3 (HA) of AME Licence examination may be issued Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Examination Certificate in mechanical stream (limited to HA only). 5. Conditions for issue of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Examination Certificate

5.1 He shall have passed Papers I. II and relevant Paper III or Modules of AME Licence examination. 5.2 The certificate enclosed as appendix II shall be issued by CEO (DGCA) within 60 days of making an application by the applicant.
