WATER RESOURCE / LAKE PROTECTION MANAGER The Liberty Lake Sewer and Water District is seeking a Water Resource

/ Lake Protection Manager. The District is located 17 miles east of Spokane Washington on I-90 and 3 miles from Idaho state line. The water system provides service to 2000 customers and the sewer system services 2300 customers. The source of water is 5 wells drawing from the Spokane Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer. The District also provides lake protection activities for a 710 acre lake. The District is governed by a 3 member Board of Commissioners. The District has 11 employees including the Manager, office and field staff. The Water Resource / Lake Protection Manager is responsible to the District Manager for lake protection activities including stormwater treatment, aquatic nuisance weed control, watershed committee activities, promote annual beach and leaf cleanup, annual lake sampling contract with Washington State University and promote public awareness of environmental issues in the watershed. The Water Resource / Lake Protection Manager is also responsible for efficient and effective water resource planning, water quality monitoring, backflow prevention, water conservation and education programs. Qualifications: Successful candidates must have at least 4 years of water quality monitoring and/or water resource management experience and a degree in science, engineering, or closely related field. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Salary based on qualifications and experience. The Water Resource / Lake Protection Manager is involved in following activities: -Administer and assist in water quality sampling on lake and inlet streams -Perform various stream and meteorological sampling programs -Maintain and operate real-time gauging stations -Maintain adjudicated lake level, outlet gates, outlet channel and sumps -Perform plan review, inspections and reports of stormwater drainage systems -Conduct and supervise Eurasian watermilfoil surveys, harvest and treatment activities -Oversee nonpoint source pollution and recommend mitigation procedures -Conduct landscape irrigation audits and promote irrigation conservation -Implement and provide Water Use Efficiency Plan updates and annual reports -Provide lake and water resource information to the Watershed committee and the general public -Conduct presentations to various public groups, schools and organizations -Organize and conduct Regional Lakes Conference, watershed tours, various seminars and programs -Serve as Districts GIS coordinator -Backflow prevention -Leak detection -Municipal water quality sampling and data management -Consumer Confidence Reports -Wellhead Protection and vulnerability assessments
