The Role of Education Technology 2

Brief History of Technology Technologies are tools that since much time ago have been used in the branch of education; our ancestor used the technology in the beginning of our age. Then Technology has been growing up, people have invented many tools such the camera, recorders, computers and so on. Technology is very important in the society because it has made that our society has have and big increase. According to Bates and Poole (2003) nowadays the society demands that students have more and good communication, ability to learn independently, ability to adapt to changing circumstances and thinking skill: problem-solving ( critical, logical and numerical). Technology and Experience Technology and media are very important in the process of teaching and learning.

Classrooms must have them. I as a student, I consider that technology has been and useful tool in the process of learning, because technology teaches many things and I learned many types of learning. Every person has his or her own way of learning. The behaviorism, constructivism and conductivism are kinds of learning; I consider that I am a constructivist person because I like to construct my own knowledge; I like to develop my skill with other people and talk about what we believe about things. Technology also influences in the process of teaching, as every person has his or her own way of learning, teachers also have their own way to teach. There are five primary kinds of teaching or that teacher could have, the kinds are transmission, apprenticeship, developmental, nurturing and social reform. Every kind of them has a specific way of teaching, teachers look for a way in which their students feel comfortable and that they be able to teach them.

The Role of Education Technology 3

According to Bates and Poole (2003), Technology is very important in the teaching and learning process and learning through technology is not necessarily better or worse than face-to-face education, it depends on what are your purpose of teaching and learning and what are your goals that you want to achieve. In my own experience, I consider that technology is very important in my formation as a teacher; it has given me many ways of learning, technology has made my life easier in my educational life. It is a good tool because teachers have used it in the classrooms. In my formations way as a teacher I have learned, that technology and media are tools that teachers have to use. They can use them in a simple way using a recorder or something more complicated as using a computer. The media that they can use are audio, videos, videoconferences (asynchronic or synchronic) all of them are using depending on the perspective of teaching that every person has. Technology and media have to be used in the classrooms because society demands that people be innovator and creative. Technology gives people tools for making interesting things and they have a better level of teaching and learning in a funny and entertained way. In conclusion, technology has been used since much time ago until nowadays, it started with our ancestors because they started to wrote in stones, so now we have many tools more complete as a computer, and we have more media that can be used in the class in the process of teaching and learning. Technology gives us a facility to improve our teaching and making better the process of learning.
