The handloom sector provides employment for an estimated 12.5 million people and is the largest rural
employment provider next to agriculture in India. But there are various hardships faced by the weavers
today by way of health problems,low wages and competition from the mechanized powerloom.
Give any one reason why you as an Indian would promote the handloom industry against all these odds.
