DEFINITIONS

Some of the terms which are commonly used in the manual have been defined as under:Bidder : One who Quotes in response to enquiries issued. Customer : Recipient of a product / services provided by the supplier. Customer Hold Point (CHP) : All the tests / activities which should be performed in the presence of NHPC Inspecting Officer are

categorized as CHP.

Contract

The Contract Agreement entered into between the Employer and the

Contractor, together with the Contract Documents referred to therein; shall constitute the Contract, and the term the Contract shall in all such

documents be construed accordingly. Contractor : Same as supplier but is referred as contractor under contractual situation. Conformity : Fulfillment of specified requirements.

Inspection

Conformity evaluation by observation and judgment accompanied by

measurement, testing or gauging. Joint Inspection Report : Joint Inspection Report is a document produced as a result of Inspection jointly conducted by the Contractor / Sub Contractor and NHPCs
