About the Young Republicans

Our Mission: to grow the Republican Party among young adults, focusing primarily in the 22 35 year age range, and to help Republicans get elected into office. Official Auxiliary of the Republican Party of Texas 15 Federated Local Clubs throughout Texas Majority of members 22 35 years old Members include young professionals (lawyers, nurses, teachers, and business professionals), campaign activists, staff, and elected officials including state representatives, city councilmen, and county commissioners.

2013 Legislative Priorities
We surveyed our membership on a wide range of policy issues. Our members identified the following areas as being the most important issues to them: 1. Reduce Taxes and Oppose New Taxes Repeal TX franchise tax / enact million dollar small business exemption (HB 607, HB 426, HB 427; SB 113; HB 204) Support constitutional amendment restricting the rate of growth of appropriations (HJR 65), of homestead appraisal valuations (SJR 9), of commercial and industrial valuations (SJR 14) 2. Reduce Regulations on Businesses (HB 87, HB 421) 3. Support 2nd Amendment Gun Rights Support Campus Carry (HB 706, SB 182) Protecting 2nd second amendment rights from federal encroachment (HB 627) 4. Increase K-12 Educational Opportunities; Improve Schools Support more educational choice (HB 478, HB 1175, SB 2, SB 115) Improve K-12 Education and school safety (HB 1009, HB 1896)

2012 Texas Young Republican Accomplishments


Trained over 50 activists in effective campaign tactics at Texas Red Conference. Topics included public engagement, local fundraising, social media, and campaign management. Held Rally for Capitalism with former presidential candidate Herman Cain during Republican Party of Texas state convention. Helped publicize 2016 movie documentary by hosting public event with movie maker Dinesh DSouza. Local clubs supported numerous state representatives, with blockwalking and fundraising. Organized statewide blockwalking deployment in support of Congressman Quico Canseco, knocking on approx. 2,500 doors. Deployed Texas YRs to Florida and Pennsylvania in support of Mitt Romney and local downballot candidates. Resulted in 35,000 voter contacts. *** Were here to help! ***
