OBJECTIVE
In this competitive world humans cannot spare there time perform there daily activities manual. The most important thing he forgets to switch off the room lights whenever not required. With this, the power gets wasted up to some extent. This project gives the best solution for reducing electrical power wastage and provides a way to eliminate the manual operation in daily routine.

The industrial appliances can be switched on/off using IR without actually going near the switch boards or regulators. The remote used in this project is IR remote. The loads like electronic appliances, power controlling system and also current through the loads can be controlled in this project. We can control all loads at a time from one place without connecting any physical wire between loads and controller i.e. turning devices on/off using IR remote. Also we can use this for providing security as we can interface an alarm with the remote which will be activated by pressing a key on the remote. IR remote acts as the transmitter in this project. We will also add a password protected entry system. When we enter the password, the lights in the room will get activated which will be then controlled by remote.

TECHNICAL DETAILS
The Project focuses on design of remote based device control system which will be using the general remote to control the relays and switches connected at its receiver end. The Microcontroller that is going to be used is Atmel 8 bit Microcontroller AT89C2051 and the programming language is Embedded C.

Innovativeness and Usefulness

Home Appliance Control: Used to Control the bulbs, fans and any other Electrical devices by using relays. Robot Control: A robot can also be sued to control devices without any need of wire. Useful for disable persons who are unable to move. This system is also used in various luxurious hotels.

Advantages of the remote controlled system

Wireless: Being wireless, it is very helpful in case of remote access and reduces the requirements of unnecessary wire connections. Power requirement is very less. Can be used for very long time and reliable also. Very less cost of installation.

Limitations
Accuracy needs to be improved. Battery needed

Scope for Advancement

Can be used to provide security by interfacing alarm. Automatic brightness control.

Current status of project

In the initial stage of our project we have studied the technical concepts of Microcontroller and their innovativeness and usefulness in the field of Automation and Control System.
