    Two students at Canadian high school were busted by the local police for selling "a homemade Taser-like device" on school grounds. "They modified some sort of a bug zapper into something thats got prongs on it and could be used to push against somebodys skin and cause a shock," OPP [Ontario Provincal Police] Const. Steve Starr said Thursday. He said the instructions on how to make the device were found on the Internet A teacher at the high school approached one of the teens after seeing him with the instrument. The student turned it over immediately and the teacher gave it to principal Anne MacLaughlin. She, in turn, gave it to OPP Const. Sue MacPherson, the schools community liaison officer, who happened to be in the building at the time The student found with the device told who had sold it to him for $20. That student also co-operated with administration and the police, MacLaughlin said. Starr said he doesnt know if the device actually works or if it could be classified under the Criminal Code as a prohibited weapon something capable of injuring, immobilizing or incapacitating someone. "Id have to test it and Im not really keen on doing it," he said Just this week a 14-year-old in Connecticut was charged after taking a disposable camera modified into a Taser-like instrument to his high school. It was not used on anyone but the student now faces charges of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds, attempted assault and breach of peace.
