Exercise for Section C, Paper 3 2007

Based on the information and observations above. (a) Make one suitable inference (b) State one suitable hypothesis (c) With the use of apparatus such as a ripple tank, a vibration motor with adjustable frequency and other apparatus, describe an experimental framework to investigate the hypothesis stated in 4(b). In your description, state clearly the following: (i) Aim of the experiment. (ii) Variables in the experiment. (iii) List of apparatus and materials. (iv) Arrangement of the apparatus (v) The procedure of the experiment that include the method of controlling the manipulated variable and the method of measuring the responding variable. (vi) The way you would tabulate the data (vii) The way you would analyze the data. [10 mark] 1 Figures (a) show the formation of an air bubble at the bottom of the lake. Figure (b) show the air bubble move to the water surface. It is observed that the volume of the air bubble increased when it moves to the wate (a) 2. Figure shows the same voltage is being being supplied by the High Voltan Supply. It is shown that the candle flame in set (i) is wilder than the candle flame in set (ii) (b)

(b) Figure shows two muscle exercise equipment consist of two and three spring of the same kind. Mr Roger found it harder to stretch the one with three springs.

6. Figure show two electric kettles of the same power each filled with water. It is observed that water in electric kettle A boiled faster than the water in Electric kettle B

7. Ahmad and daughter is playing with swing. At first with a longer swing then a shorter swing . He found out that the shorter one give a faster swing compared with the longer swing. Eventhough he applied the same force.

8 Figure shoiws water flowing from a tap. It is observed that the stream of water becomes narrower as it flows down.

10 Figure shows two twins, Ali and Abu, swinging from an iron crossbar. Ali holds the crossbar with his hand making an angle of 120 o whereas Asbu puts his hand close together. The mass of both of them is 50kg.
