PREFACE
As the impacts of globalization, there will be the global competition. We must compete with human resources from other countries if we want to win this competition. As a result, students have to prepare themselves with knowledge and skills, which are appropriate with their interests and abilities. In order to prepare competitive human resources, university as the highest educational institution, has given a lot of knowledge which can be used by the student to face the challenge appeared and survive in the globalization era. In Industrial Engineering Department at University of Indonesia, the students have been given both the art of science and management aspects, which blend together in an industrial system to achieve effectiveness and efficiency. For becoming a qualified human resource and real engineer, the student has to compare the theoretic knowledge which they have received by lecturing with the real condition in the real workplace. For this reason, the Industrial Engineering Department obligates their students to take an internship program. The purpose of this program is to increase the readiness of the students and give the real descriptions of real working condition with the problems which are usually appear, and also the way or methods to solve the problems. According to the explanation above, I would like to apply and join the internship program in Chevron Pacific Indonesia Company to learn and understand the technical and management aspects that are applied in this company.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this internship program are: a. For the Students 1. Completing the requirement needed in Industrial Engineering Department, University of Indonesia, 2. 3. 4. Knowing more about Chevron Indonesia Company, Comparing between theory and real working condition, and Getting more experiences and knowledge in industries and technologies.

Applying the knowledge, trying to analyze and solve the problems in the real working condition.

b. For the Company 1. Receiving useful inputs from internship participant in solving problems that company have which are related appropriately with industrial engineering science, and 2. As a consideration for the company in recruiting new employee by student quality evaluation.

RESEARCHING METHOD
1. Identify the problem In this step, problems are identified according to the relevance topic in PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia. 2. Collect the data 3. Find the data in the field Find the literature that related to the topic Interview the employees

Analyze the data and generate alternative solution The student analyzes the data based on the problem and tries to find solution for the problem based on their knowledge.

4.

Evaluate and make a report After evaluating and choose best solution, the student has to write all the necessary information and evaluation about internship process in a report that must be given to the internship counselor after being ratified by the company.

BOUNDARIES
There are some topics can be the boundaries of the internship program. They can be chosen one or more than one related topics depend on the condition at PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia. These topics are:
1. Supply Chain Management The company will be successful if it has effective supply chain management. The primary objective of supply chain management is to fulfill customer demands through the most efficient use of resources, including distribution capacity, inventory and labor. Various aspects of optimizing the supply chain include liaising with suppliers to eliminate bottlenecks, using location/allocation and vehicle routing analysis, dynamic programming and traditional logistics optimization to maximize the efficiency of the distribution side. So the specifics topic could be: a. Procurement operation b. Warehousing c. Inventory management d. Transportation between supply chain systems e. Strategy and optimizing on distribution side

Human Resource Human Resource plays an integral role in organizational success, through the knowledge about people and ways to advocate people. Human Resource in a company also become a strategic partner to the company itself, contributes to the development and accomplishment of organizations objective and business plan. In that role, Human Resource Department advocates for both the company and its employees, performing constant balancing act to meet both needs successfully.

Production process Product quality has correlation with production process. This process is very complex and needs resources. In company, we must apply effective and efficient production process. It can reduce cost of production and produce good product.

Project Management The company as organization has vision and mission. To reach the goal, company makes a lot of project. Project management helps company to finish the goal. Project management is application of the knowledge, skill, tools, and technique to project activities in order to meet stakeholder needs and expectation invariably. Therefore project management can organize project well. The internship program is focused on case studying and problem solving. Case study might be about learning a condition or identifying problem with basic knowledge got from university education and problem solving is by analyzing the problem in company and trying to find the solution for the problem. This goal can be established by observing the actual condition and company business process that related with Industrial Engineering discipline.
