Lesson objectives
Students shouldbe able to: develop a sense of wonder at the simplicity and universality of physical laws understand the variety and immensity of the fields of physics in the universe show an understanding that all physical quantities consist of a numericalmagnitude and a unit recall the SI base quantities of Mass, Time, and Length and their units use the prefixes and their symbolsproperly with units Students shouldbe able to: develop a sense of wonder at the simplicity and universality of physical laws recall and revise some basics about density, mass, weight, force, work, speed, moment, heat, sound and light learnedlast year Students should be able to: show an understanding that all physical quantities consist of a numericalmagnitude and a unit recall the SI base quantities and their units express derived units as products or quotients of the SI base units anduse the named units listed in the syllabus use SI base units to check the homogeneity of physical equations use the prefixes and their symbols to indicate decimal submultiplesor multiples of both base and derived units distinguish between scalar and vector quantities and give examples add and subtract coplanar vectors
