Forensic analysis of electrical towers Forensic methodology applied to the electrical tower breakdown by local buckling a bar before the collapse under an unknown wind load.

The goal is to find a plausible hypothesis stating tower collapse. Iterative method to locate the central profile which collapses first due to tension imbalance in the stands. Data to calculate the critical wind speed for the tower.

Remote inspection system for electrical towers Numerical experimental methodology to get mechanical properties in lightweight structures. The project results will determine the existence of possible damage in the towers and the prediction of future collapses.

Ultrasonic inspection of electrical insulators The basis of the ultrasonic technique is on measuring the propagation speed of a high frequency sound wave through a medium. Timing differences of the reflected waves help us to detect the damage nature and depth.

Computational Vehicle Dynamics Computational Vehicle Dynamics is oriented toward computer simulation and applies rigorous and nonlinear dynamic equations, which current desktop computers can easily handle. This work bypasses the laborious process of linearization and the exhaustive analysis of linearized equations. Linearized analysis is used selectively to build insights and is checked against the full computer simulation.
