Clarification is an important process in the treatment of industrial and municipal water and wastewater. As the water serves as the transport mechanism in many industries, the waste must be removed from the water. Johnson screens biomag clarification technology can achieve low effluent suspended solids, BOD, nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations in a compact footprint. BioMag will substantially reduce biological treatment reactor volume requirements and dramatically decrease the footprint needed for BOD and nitrogen removal. Utilizing magnetite to ballast biological flow, BioMag enhances biological wastewater treatment processes. By utilizing Johnson Screens mobile sludge dewatering equipment, customers can reduce hauling and sludge disposal up to 75 percent, while capturing valuable water from the sludge for re-use. Depending on influent characteristics, a solids content of 70 percent or more is achievable with Johnson Screens solids handing equipment and services.
