You will need to be a member of any of the following User Groups in System Manager to design reports:
Assessment Coordinator, Class Teacher, Pastoral Manager, School Administrator, Senior Management
Team, System Manager, Teachers’ Desktop User.
Introduction
This help sheet describes how to design a Web Page report output which should be used when you want to
create a HTML page of the report content (in tabular format). This can be viewed using an Internet browser
in addition to saving the web page if required. This can be useful for making report information available on a
web site or intranet.
It is assumed that you are familiar with designing simple reports. If this is not the case, please refer to the
How to Design a Simple Report help sheet (SupportNet Resource Number 11128).
2. Click the Create New Report hyperlink to display the Report Wizard and Report Summary,
choose the fields to be included in the report together with any filters and sort order. For information
on designing a report, please see the How to Design a Simple Report help sheet (SupportNet
Resource Number 11128).

4. Select Web page from the Presentation list to display the Web Page Settings panel.
5. Enter a title for the report in the Report Title field, if required.
6. Deselect the Suppress duplicates check box only if you want any duplicate records to appear in the
report.
7. If you do not want to save a copy of the report and simply want to view the report in your Internet
browser, select the View in browser when web page is created check box and go straight to step
12.
8. If you wish to save a copy of the web page, specify the location and file name by clicking the
Browse button to open the Save As dialog.

9. The default location is \Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net but this can be changed to any
required location.
10. Enter a file name in the File name field, then click the Save button.
11. Select the View in browser when web page is created check box if you also want the saved report
to open in an Internet browser when the report is run.
12. Select the Allow web page location to be chosen at run-time check box if you want to enable the
report user to specify the file name and location when the report is run.
13. Click the Next button on the Report Wizard to move to the Design complete page.
14. Preview, run or save the report as required by clicking the applicable hyperlink.
