Dont forget to keep Troy and Jennifer in your prayers. They will be

Betty Morse found a home to purchase so we are truly thankful for

that worry to be lifted from her shoulders.

Sam Allens knee is much improved and progressing well.

And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with Gods will.. 2 Corinthians 8:5.

PRAYER CONCERNS
Pray for our elders and their wives and their commitment to serve as our shepherds; Sam and Sharon, Ron and Gen, Sherrod and Joyce, Dan and Pam, Bob and Cherie and George and Ruth. We lift up Sam and Sharon as Sam's knee continues to improve and we pray for his employment situation to resolve according to God's will. We pray for Sherrod who was in ICU in Corvallis after a fall at home last week. Sherrod and Joyce are at home now and are both recovering from pneumonia. We pray for Bob and Cheri and their daughter Amanda and for the entire family's recovery. We pray for Ron's sister, Rhonda Juarez, as she battles cancer. We pray for Harriette, who has had a difficult time getting over her respiratory problems and maintaining good health. Jackie Watson is in Salem in the hospital after having successful surgery and is recuperating well. Pat Watson continues on his slow journey to recovery, still hospitalized in the trauma acute recovery unit at Emanuel in Portland. Betty Morse's grandson, Joshua Tappero, is being treated for an infection which has delayed his surgery (again) to repair a femoral artery aneurysm. Betty has a new home in Tigard and is now working on the daunting project of packing and moving. We lift up Andy Wright, and his wife Sandy and son Chris. After a few years of remission from his colon cancer, Andy suffered a severe relapse last week, and cancer has now been discovered in his liver and both of his lungs. He was released from the hospital to go home on hospice care. Our cancer warriers and their families: Joel Bauer, Susan Burr, Kim Ebel, Jim Gamb, Rob Hartley, Rhonda Kneeland, Serena Koach, Dan Lee, Billie Gay Lawrence, Bal Lomanang, Terry McCulloch, Bob Owens, Ken Ratliff, Randy Rasmussen, Patty Spradlin, Richard Swint, Tammy, Stephanie VanDamme, Rosie Wilbanks, and Twila Zeller. James Watson's recovery from a stroke continues to progress and he is allowed to be at home now and continues with therapy on a daily basis. We are encouraged to hear that Bob Robinson and Gail McDonnell have found a church family near their new home. Please pray for those preaching the gospel in every area of the world. Alan, Ben, Joshua and Richard in the Philippines; and Nancy Thomas, Rebecca Lee and the Wells family. We are asked to pray for Joe and Carmen - that they will be comforted in their worries and concerns. We pray for those who are striving for sobriety and recovery in their lives. We ask for safety for all who are traveling. We are uplifted and encouraged by visitors who come to fellowship in worship with us.

Volume 1 No. 5

SEA AND LAND

When the ark of the covenant was returned to Israel King David was not only driven to dance but to poetic expression. Davids psalm of thanksgiving is a celebration of how joyous it is to sing of the Lords glorious and wondrous presence in this world and the one to come. The psalm ends with the poetic yet mysterious reality that both sea and land sing of Gods greatness. The music of the spheres was not Pythagoras discovery of the correlation between nature and music but the reality that God is the creator of all things and thus His voice, His design, His praise is evidence in sea and land and all that inhabits them. The crash of the waves, the song of the whales, the chirping of the birds and the creak of majestic trees dancing in the wind are to the praise of God! The earth is full of a symphony of lyrical lauding of the one who fashioned us from the elements but breathed into us the rhythm of life. That beat for those created in His image is the pounding of a heart that longs for communion with Him. And in turn nature responds in sweet strains of praise and adoration evidenced in sound, color, and in a kaleidoscopic fusion of beauty and majestic nobility. As David writes, Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, The LORD reigns! So, as you walk through your day listen to the music of the spheres! Rise above the cacophony of busyness and dissonance of the daily grind and rest in the sounds of nature that sing of His sovereignty over all. Be a clich and stop and smell the roses as you drink in the joy of the Lord! Maltbie Babcock says it this wayThis is my Fathers world, and to my listening ears, all nature sings, and around me rings, the music of the spheres.
