CSPC Nanhai Control Room

Blast Proof, single story Building.Four Clusters of Consoles each with 12 nos of 1200mm consoles. About 48 Control Positions.Approx 12000 SFT area. Clusters are near four edges of control room.There is common console area for supervisors in center. F&G screens are hanging from ceiling near each cluster. Consoles are in open configuration with LCD stacked in two levels. Communication is through Walky talky and Telephone.No PA system was seen. Control room has ornamental false ceiling and vibrant color composition on walls.Floor is carpeted

BP-SECCO Control Room

Blast Proof two story Building.Limited office in the building.Houses DCS engg, APC , Configuration area. Control Room.Approx 15000 SFT (48Meterx30 Meter).Four groups.Two rows of consoles for each group and two bays in third row for common.Layout incorporates four video walls and consoles for these walls.Video wall has not been installed may be due to shortage of funding. Each operator has about 4 meters of console area.Consoles are in open execution with two tier monitors. 57 Control positions + 5 Supervisor positions Sound absorbent paneling on free walls.Carpeted floor.

Shanghai Power Company, Shanghai Brief on Head quarters of EPC Shanghai housing Main Control Room and Visitor Center. Facility is a high profile building with more than 1,60,000 SFT built up in a unique Architectural design created by Perkins and Will.The entire building is very impressive and stands out as landmark in elite Pudong area of Shanghai. It has eight story high glass atrium using space structure and tapering glass pyramid for fire stair case. Owners brief to designers was to create the facility which will not be outdated for next fifty years and can not be duplicated easily to ensure uniqueness. Designer has used contemporary design and materials to ensure timeless aspect of the facility.

Command Center Shanghai Power Company

Shanghai Power Command Center.16 Control Positions.Separate console bay for emergency operations Video Wall :9x3 ,67 DLP. Seven Graphics.Main Distribution Diagram, Six Performance Indicators.

Three bays of Evans full depth enclosed consoles with task light in single row ,Task chairs. One Bay for Emergency handling with motorized adjustable work surface to lift for standing position along with monitors to facilitate standing operation.

Enclosed consoles with veneer finish and valence with task light. Work surfaces are not joint less aligned in a bay like IDC or PHQ. Carpeted floor with patterns

5 Deg curved wall well integrated into interiors.Cove lighting similar to PHQ control room RCP.Speaker system near wall and ceiling. Sound absorbent panels on the walls

War Room adjacent to Control Center.Partitioned in to sections with glass wall.

War Room :One section has 2x2 ,67Video wall with set of consoles for emergency operation staff.Entry into other section from first section.

Second section with curved console for Senior staff/specialists equipped with communication equipment ,hanging 1x3 video wall for deliberating the situation . Extensive use of indoor plants through out the facility to create the lively environment. Most of light fittings are ceiling illuminating, hanging, glare free configuration.

Senior executive area has view of hanging wall as well as video wall in emergency staff area through glass window.

Large Board room in proximity of control Room.Slightly curved table to match the radius of Room perimeter with external view..120 rear projection system with speakers and VC facility.Cotemporary interiors with rich veneer finish.

Brief on Visitor Center

Theme: As you enter the Visitor center, Hospitality staff greets you in briefing area which has two back projection screens on which a video film is projected giving the brief of Shanghai Power Company, corporate philosophy, history, time line and road map.It relates it self with the history of Shanghai and China.Since the audio is in Chinese the hospitality staff translates in English during the deliberate pauses in Chinese commentary. Experience starts with the history of Electricity at Shanghai back in 19 th century, Generators, lamp posts, lamps, in the form of real models, miniature exhibits, black and white restored photographs.Some models are dynamic showing the arcing principle of light or Edisons filament lamp working in live. The first substation, Generator, transmission line, meters are exhibited either by models or photographs.All aspects of Power company from generation , distribution , metering , public lighting is covered in a educative way. Subsequently the focus is on how latest developments in technology have taken place and how company has absorbed the technology for the benefit of its customers including non conventional energy sources. Visitor center employs AV, Electronic displays, backlit panels, plasma screens , graphic panels, front projection , Real time working models to convey its message successfully.It is fully engrossing. At the end of visit one is convinced about the credentials of Company and educated on the business handle by the company & its contribution to national pride.

On the ground floor of the Circular Head Quarter Tower is very informative Visitor center ,with tour time of about 3045 min.Center has trained hospitality staff like NNOC Visitor center who conducts the tour in a defined manner. Visitor center is more interesting than AT & T Bedminster addressing all sections of visitors.
