5.3.1.1 MECHANICAL RUN TEST / FUNCTIONAL TEST This test will be performed at the manufacturers works to check bearing performance, vibration and overall operability. Mechanical run test shall include as a minimum, the following: This test shall be conducted as per API-616. Manufactures shall submit test procedures along with acceptable limit of vibration and other machine parameters to be observed during testing. Vibration readings and vibration sweeps. Recording of starting times. Check out of variable inlet guide vane / stator / turbine nozzle schedule and vibration levels at steady state conditions. Transient responses. Shutdown and coastdown data. Immediate re-start capabilities (minimum 10 starts). Oil pressure and temp. Oil consumptions. Overspeed trip check (repeated three times) by electronic simulation as per API 616 Relevant auxiliary equipment check.

5.3.1.2 Performance Test for Gas Turbine: Please refer 5.3.1.3 below: 5.3.1.3 FULL LOAD STRING TEST/PERFORMANCE TEST AT MANUFACTURERS SHOP 5.3.1.3.1 Vendor shall carry out complete unit full load (string) test at Shop, to be witnessed by the Purchaser / Owner for the turbine, generator, generator subsystem, lube oil system with all ancillary equipment including local and remote control panels, MCC panel, HMI modules and with all utility and safety systems operating. The enclosure and its ancillary equipment shall be included in this tests to be carried out at the site. Prior to the string test, generator should have been tested at the manufacturers works. High speed strip chart recorders will be connected.

Functional and simulation tests for sequence logic and alarm and shutdown function shall be done. Functional and simulation tests for fire and gas detection systems and fire suppression system shall be done. All the protection relays shall be tested prior to the string tests. The turbine shall be able to deliver rated load within 20 minutes of starting from cold start. The turbine shall be able to deliver rated load within 10 minutes of starting from cold in emergency. Package starting/stopping logic shall be checked prior to loading of the turbine generator. The overspeed trip test (repeated 3 times) shall be conducted. The frequency analysis of vibrations shall be undertaken during string test. During string test, vendor shall carry out sound level test to satisfy the requirements. Sound level shall be measured at a distance of 1M from enclosure above a height of 1M. Sound level test shall be carried out at various points around the enclosure. Noise test report shall be prepared and submitted as per API 616 and ISO-10494. After system is checked out and response calibrated, the following loading procedure, or reasonable agreed alternate, will be followed for the unit. All instrumentation relating to power production and temperature will be recorded. The loading shall be of rated voltage and frequency. I) II) III) IV) V) No load run for 30 min. Increase load to approx. 25% and run for 30 min. A. Reject load in one step B. Re-apply load in one step. Increase load to approx. 50% and run for 30 min. Increase load to approx. 75% and run for 30 min. Increase load to approx. 100% Operate in this load range until temperature are stabilised, but not exceeding two hours. Reject load in one step. Re-apply load to 110% and run for 30 min. Decrease load to approx. 100% and run for 5 min. Reject full load in one step.
