Describe about five Golf Club House 2.1 PENANG GOLF RESORT (PGR) is my 1st recommend golf club because it

is a 36-hole golf resort nestled within the master plan of a new township located in Seberang Perai Utara, Penang and 21 kilometres from Penang city centre. Designed by Graham Marsh, this large and expansive tract of former palm oil plantation has been transformed into two very similar championship layouts - the East and West Courses - promoted as Malaysia's Jewel in the North.

Plenty of earth mounding, numerous stylishly designed bunkers, a handful of water hazards, contoured fairways and a light scattering of trees breaks up the essential flatness of the terrain. As you look across the open parkland, there are golf holes just about as far as the eye can see, although once on the course you'll be surprised how much space there is between them, and how "intrusions" from other fairways are rare. The good-width fairways (sometimes generously wide) and light semi-rough give the course an easy-going feel from the tee, but care will be needed on the approach shots, particularly with water present at the close of both the front and back nine.

VSPG 2041 GOLF IV

This course is an impressive display of fairways, roughs and tees turfed with fresh Zoysia, and Bermuda for greens. High playability is guaranteed at all times with the installation of a special drainage system on the course. The par 72 West Course threatens the back nine as there are a number of lakes present. The short par 3, 8th hole at only 164 meters looks easy but teeing shot may prove a watery problem. As on the East course, a bit of traffic noise can be heard from the North-South highway, especially when it skirts alongside the par-5 13th. The heavily bunkered 17th is an excellent par-3, also protected by water on the right. Water also poses most of the questions on the left to right dog-legging par-5 18th.

The Penang Golf Resort West Course offers an overall good golfing experience in Penang. The shared clubhouse includes a well-stocked pro shop as well as two restaurants. The local Penang food dishes and traditional Chinese fare are highly recommended. Designer Marsh Holes Yardage: / Par : Graham Location : seberang Golf Cart: RM 84 (shared)

Meru Valley Golf & Country Club has some great holes. The fourth hole is

an absolute cracker. It's like Augusta 12th, water fronting the green, just about 130 metres from elevated tee box. The signature hole is the 6th. There's an opening in the foliage for golfers to peek through to see the par 3 green guarded by water in the front. It's a nice course for Malaysia standards and the greens are absolutely a delight to putt on. This, plus the fact that the course is really a beautiful course, makes it one of the favourites for Malaysia golfers. Some people might find it challenging enough, but the scenery is beautiful and the experience more exhilarating. The shorter course makes it easier for higher handicap golfers to putt for pars, instead of saving bogeys.

The Gunung Raya Golf Resort is located at the foothills of the majestic

Gunung Raya (Celebration Mountain). The Langkawi golf course covers 300 acres of former rubber plantation land and was designed by renowned American golf architect Max Wexler. Gunung Raya has nice panoramic views and an impressive landscape. The Langkawi golf course opened for play in 1998 and they have held many amateur golf tournaments over the years. Constant renovation keeps the course in good order and almost everywhere there are signs of on-going maintenance. Even the golf cart path is peppered with yellow trumpet flowers and wild grasses. Most of the Gunung Raya holes offer a scenic view of rolling hills and distant mountains. For example, the first hole from its elevated tee, is a slight dogleg right with a great view of Gunung Raya and a the whole golf course. The fairways are wide which makes it easy to keep the ball in play. Bermuda grass ensures your ball sits nicely, waiting to be hit. Theres not much OB or hazards. The back nine has more water. Some of the most notable holes include the 10th, a 500 meter par-5. The dogleg right hole has water running the entire length on the left while a hill serves as an obstacle to choose the tiger line towards to right. Littered with bunkers the fairway leads to a huge green which is fairly flat. Hole 7 is a 207 meter par-3. Watch out for wind conditions and pin position for a good score on this long par three. The bunkers flanking the green and the two-tiered layout can pose problems to high handicappers. The challenging closing hole, a long 423 meter par-4, is tough to hit on regulation because of its uphill layout while two bunkers side by side on the right can add to the strokes. The elevated green calls for a lofted shot to seek the pin. The clubhouse and practice facilities are adequate for the visiting Langkawi golfer. Overall

Clearwater Sanctuary has won numerous awards for both its golf and its

picturesque scenery. Clearwater Sanctuary encloses over 1,000 acres, comprising of forest, jungle, and lakes, in addition to its golf courses. Wildlife is a prominent feature at Clearwater Sanctuary. Monitor lizards can be seen scampering between water and the undergrowth, while monkeys may be spotted in the surrounding trees. Bird life is rife and on the rare occasion, otters may also be seen on the waters edge. Designed by Tim Woolbank, from Australian Golf Management, Clearwater Sanctuary has a demanding and challenging course. This 27-hole golf resort has an idyllic backdrop of several large, lily-fringed lakes and these are the key ingredients that make Clearwater Sanctuary rank as one of Asia's best golf courses. The Raintree Nine and Lakes Nine, acclaimed to be among the most challenging and picturesque course in South East Asia, promises a truly memorable golfing experience. On the 18 holes, straight drives are imperative and good length is the only way to maintain a respectable score. Inconsistency is punished and the occasional dampness that comes from the nearby waterway adds an extra element to consider in club selection and approach. In this quiet and very natural environment, large, attractive rainwater trees give the front-nine a distinctive, mature parkland character. There is usually enough space between the trees to encourage use of the big-timber from the tee, but stray too far offline and dense jungle waits. Water hazards are in store at Lakes Nine.

A dramatic change of scene arrives at the par-4 10th, where the tree-lined front-nine gives way to a more open environment and the arrival of stunning lakeside scenery. Meandering their way alongside four large and very attractive lakes, the back-nine is full of wonderfully designed holes, all flanked by water. The downhill par-3 11th is a fabulous hole, beautifully framed by the Club Lake and deep bunkering to the right of the green. It is followed by a bighitters delight - the chance to drive the green at the dog-legging par-4 12th, only a 260-meter carry required from the back-tees. The back-nine continues on its way with a stunning collection of lakeside holes, not too much elevation change, but plenty of watery challenges and scenery that will keep your camera busily employed. If there was a signature hole, it's the 18th. It's a hard dogleg left par 5, about 170 meters to cut the dogleg and carry the water. There's an annoying tree in the middle to eat your balls. In fact, Clearwater Sanctuary has loads of holes that allow you to cut the doglegs with a good drive.

In addition to the main 18 holes, the Wetlands Nine, a unique Par-3 course, is the ideal challenge for those seeking a short but satisfactory game. The course has an interesting selection of 135 to 210 meter holes that start and finish by the water on either side of the course.Besides challenging golf, other facilities include a driving range, tropical, fishing, pro shop, restaurant and activities which range from nature walks to bird watching. A basic cluster of 30 chalets are available for golf groups wishing to stay on site at the resort. 2.5 The Golf Club Datai Bay on the Island of Langkawi in Malaysia offers one

of the most unique and special golfing experiences any golfer could wish for. This course is about so much more than simply meeting the challenge of the holes laid out before you. The layout is as spectacular as the environment is natural. Don't worry if you hear movement and crashing around in the woods around the course; that will be the resident monkeys.

The fairways are fairly tight with excellent bunkering around tricky greens. An abundance of tall ancient trees protecting the narrow channel of fairway is enough to keep the driver in the bag on most holes. Given all the hilly terrain, the golf course is surprisingly flat on the frontnine. The cleverly designed sharp dogleg par-5 8th as a hole is one of the best on the golf course.

There are more elevation changes on the back-nine, where the closing sequence of holes supplies some needed additional features. The 15th starts the excellent closing stretch with a wonderfully plunging downhill par-3. The cleverly designed sharp dogleg par-5 8th as a hole is one of the best on the golf course, as well as the tricky par-4 16th with its overhanging giant trees preventing a simple route to the green for any short tee shots.

After the 16th take time-out from your 18-holes proper, to play the signature hole, a par-3 185-metre carry across the Andaman Sea. Finally, its back to a very good uphill par -3 and then the terrific short par-5 closing hole. The course itself is part of a five star golf resort, which means the levels of service are excellent. The Golf Club Datai Bay offers the comfort of an international class golf club, including full facilities, locker rooms, a Pro Shop and F&B amenities. The golf equipment available is also good quality and a compulsory golf cart need to be added to the green fees. In comparison to other Malaysia golf courses, a round of golf at The Datai is quite expensive. Nevertheless, this Malaysia golf course should be added to everyones must play list. It is so much more than golf as you know it. Think of it more like golf with nature combined to their best.
