PRESENTED BY: TROIKA BERMUDA EVENT NAME: FYE! Young Choreographers Showcase
FYE: For Your Entertainment. FYE: A Southern term originated in Kennesaw, GA which is the Ebonics term for words such as fly, fire, cool, nice, awesome, or ballin. The word fye has risen through popularity from rap artist adopting the term into their music. The beat to this new song is so fye, everyone is dancing to it.

SHOWCASE DATE: Sunday March 24th, 2013 SHOWCASE TIMES: 3pm (Matinee), 7pm (Evening) EVENT LOCATION: The Earl Cameron Theatre (City Hall Theatre) TICKET PRICING: $20 Students, $30 General and $50 Patrons TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED VIA: www.ptix.bm EVENT DESCRIPTION: This 90 minute showcase will be a creative and explosive presentation
highlighting the choreographic talents and passion for dance by Bermudas young people. Through this initiative, young performers will be encouraged to strive for their own artistic excellence. This initiative will also support youth participation in all genres of dance. We have received submissions from a diverse group of young people in dance genres representative of hip hop, ballet, tap, modern, dancehall, inspirational and salsa.

INTERNATIONAL GUEST PERFORMER: To facilitate further collaboration and development as part of


this initiative we are welcoming Mr. Jose Junior Tena from NY to teach the young choreographers a workshop as well as to guest perform in the showcase. Mr. Tena is a young choreographer himself who has been very successful with his performance career (see biography on next page).

PROCEEDS: Funds raised from this event would be used to support TROIKAs 2013 programming.

GUEST ARTIST: JOSE TENA

Jose "Boy Boi" Tena is an accomplished 18 year old artist from the Bronx, NY and recent graduate of The Performing Arts School in NYC. A principal dancer of Dana Foglia Dance: a successfully emerging contemporary fusion company and in training at the French Academie of Ballet School. He has appeared in the feature film Step Up 3D and has danced alongside Beyonc in her campaign entitled 'Move Your Body'. Jose is a Monsters of Hip Hop alum and 2012 Young Arts winner in World Dance. He is currently assisting the faculty of The Pulse on Tour as an Elite Protg and sharing his gifts with other dancers and students. He currently teaches dance at The Broadway Dance Center of New York.

ABOUT US:
TROIKA Bermuda (TROIKA) is a registered Bermuda Charity (#874). TROIKAs mission is to educate, enlighten and entertain by producing significant theatre experiences, which are presented by a creative ensemble of young people who embody the highest professional caliber. TROIKAs intended audience is young people, although all members of society are welcome to experience the TROIKAs experience. TROIKA members believe that art, fun and education work in tandem as these variables help to cultivate young minds and afford opportunities to young people to learn about their history, invaluable life lessons and necessary values. For their creative pieces, TROIKA uses original and professional works that highlight the positive elements of our society. TROIKA provides training and a forum for young Bermudian artists to hone their craft.
