Pedestal Base (azimuth control) The HELLFIRE II/DAGR pedestal launcher combines the launch rails and associated cables and electronics of the combat-proven M299 launcher with a Cobham Defence Electronics pedestal.

Lockheed Martins HELLFIRE II/DAGR pedestal launcher brings the power of the attack helicopter to fixed sites, ground vehicles and maritime patrol craft. The launcher mates four M299 launch rails and associated cables and electronics with a pedestal manufactured by Cobham Defence Electronics. Due to its M299 heritage, the pedestal launcher is fully compatible with the HELLFIRE family of missiles, including HELLFIRE II, HELLFIRE LONGBOW, and DAGR. The four launch rails accommodate a mixed loadout of HELLFIRE II missiles and DAGR rail-mounted canisters. With a full DAGR loadout, the pedestal launcher can fire 16 guided missiles in quick succession. The pedestal launcher demonstrated its ability to launch DAGR in two flight tests at Elgin Air Force Base, scoring successful lock-on-before-launch hits within a foot of the laser spot. The pedestal launcher readily interfaces with vehicles equipped with a HELLFIRE-compatible weapons control system, weapons controller and targeting system. Lockheed Martin offers kits to add these components to existing vehicles, and can also integrate a weapons control system into a ground or sea platform.

The pedestal launcher can be mounted on both ground- and sea-based platforms, as well as fixed sites protecting surrounding assets and locations.
