Introduction and Visit

We the students of BBA 8th Mansoor Ahmed,Naveed Sattar and Naghman Ahmed have visited the ngo ,children planet, H-8 Islamabad last Friday,We gathered near our universit and naghman picked us up and we went to orphanage called Children Planet. We decided to take fruits, chocolates and candies with us ,so we did.It was my first time experience in life that I was about to visit an NGO. This ngo was established in 2005 after the earthquake happened in Pakistan where thousands of children lost their parents and guardians. These childrens were exposed to life of hopelessness ,without the basic necessities that many of us take for granted. These children are most helpless and most vulnerable victoms of violence with no one to raise them and they were without the support of their families. They were without Family love, care , protection and without proper support , these children were not having the childhood they deserved. It was an ngo where a group of volunteers are working for the orphans childs who has been the victim of Earthquake in Pakistan 2005. There were almost 35 to 40 childrens who were living there n got educationaI facilities as well. When we reached their ,a boy aged 16 opened the door for us and took us to the main office, where we met Mr Syed Mohsin Shah, who was most senior person presend at the place at that time, after chit chat and eachothers introduction for few minutes we went to see kids. What I saw there moved my soul!. There were around 35 kids out there. Some were too small like 7 , while mostly were around 10-11. I wondered how deprived this kids were because they didn't have parents to love them and take care of them. Some of them very unlucky because their parents had died but many of them were unlucky because their parents left them on doorsteps of the orphanage. It was such a pleasurable experience to spent some precious time with them specially in the class room where we talked to the kids, mostly were shy but some of them were funny too,I asked if anyone could sing a song and I was wondered to see a 10 year old kid singing a fabulous ,we all smiled and I wondered. we got an insight into what exactly happens at an NGO like this. These children are taught by experienced teachers and there are a lot of different activities for them. These childrens went for outing on every month and visited different places and enjoyed alot. We played some cricket with them n it creates smiles and happiness on their innocent and blissful faces. Later on we went their classes with them and arranged some interesting activities with them . Some of the children perform interesting activities like dance and sung different songs for us, in short they enjoyed each and every single moment in a great way.As we brought some fruits and chocolates for them,so we distributed it among them and they really enjoyed because they enjoyed these sort of food once in a while. Those volunteers or people who were taking care of these innocent children in that ngo told us that we needed sweaters ,socks and stationary for children because its the demand because of winter season and we promised them that we will do our level best to generate some donations and get these sort of stuff for them because working for philanthropy and humanity should be the first purpose for us. We spent our wonderful and precious time with them and we truly realized what should be the our purpose of life and our happiness are closely connected with the

happiness and simles of these innocent childrens.I wondered what an irony this is , these children have parents who left them and strangers who care for them!!! At the end we gathered all the childrens together and took some memorable pics with them and it was such a wonderful time for all of us, this visit was such a great experience. We often learn about smallest things in our lives. We should learn a lesson from those orphans children and how inspite of so many disformities and misshapenness they still know how to turn their weaknesses into their biggest strengths and bring happiness on their faces, yes, from small things. This visit made me feel lucky that I was born in family which loved me and cared for me. Thank you because this visit made me keep visiting orphanage again and again. Life can be unfair at times but trust like this ,but people like Anayat-ur-Rehman of AMWS and our teacher Sir abdul Rehman who gave us this idea(as an assignment) to visit, makes me believe in goodness of life. God bless them.

How to help(Reccomendations)
I suggest that before u visit,u must ask on call or by mail that what are the things that orphanage really need at that specific time and season because it really helps providing those things which they really need. Sacrifice one or more things in your life and donate what you save to help an orphan. Even one dollar can make a difference in the life of an orphan. Examples of things you might sacrifice: cable T.V. subscription, soda addiction, cigarettes, Starbucks coffee, fast food meals, full price movies ,desserts etc
.Sell

unwanted household items on olx and donate the proceeds

Go in person to local businesses and ask them to donate to Families for Orphans

Hold a birthday party for an orphan and invite your friends to come and each bring $10 to donate to help an orphan who has probably never had a birthday party. If you are married, consider adopting a child. Encourage your university to conduct a "Money For Orphans Project where each child is invited to bring in 100rs to help an orphan. We can match up a school with a specific orphanage or project. Instead of sending a gift to someone, donate the amount of the gift you would have given to help an orphan and inform them of the donation being made in their name.

.For thousands of years giving charity was the normal way to provide help. Charity is usually defined as giving money or materials to the poor and needy. Unfortunately, this usually left the poor and needy still in need of help. Also, charity usually meant that the donor decided what and how much to give.If one donor decided that needy children should live in an orphanage, that was their decision. If another donor decided to help a child stay with her or his family, that was also fine. Charity was sometimes regarded as a duty, but it was mainly given through a sense of generosity and benevolence by those who could afford it.

Children's rights
It is especially important in today's society that we all feel a sense of responsibility for children's rights as children less able that any other sector of society to look after themselves, especially babies and the very young. By virtue of being adults, we inherently take on the responsibility as duty-bearers to all children, not just our own. Government are not the only duty bearers, most of us are duty-bearers, to varying degrees. Parents have a duty to feed and protect their children. Teachers have a duty to their pupils, doctors and nurses to patients, employers to employees and so on. As individuals, we all have a duty to respect each other's rights; for example, not to steal or murder. About the only people in society who are not duty-bearers in any practical way are babies, very young children and the disabled, because their ability to carry out duties is limited. As duty-bearers we are responsible for other people's rights. We must not stand in the way of them and we have to do what is in our power to make them possible. It is fairly evident that we should not hinder other people's rights, but it is less clear what we should be doing to assist others in their rights. Most people would agree that if we witness an accident, we should offer our assistance. If we see someone breaking into a neighbour's house, we should call the police. If we see someone abusing a child, we should do what we can to stop that abuse. Our power to assist other people's rights varies enormously and depends on our position or role in society. Many people choose to put themselves into positions of duty, beyond that which is normal for most individuals. For example, a person may choose to visit and comfort the old or disabled, or a person may volunteer to run a youth group. Many people become duty-bearers by proxy, through supporting organisations like the Children Planet.
