Water Disinfection by Microfiltration with Katadyn Ceramic Filters

The look and taste of water, however clear and fresh it may seem, can be deceiving. Only reliably purified water is hygienic and save. Katadyn Filter elements offer this security thanks to an ingenious combination of the Katadyn effect with heterocapillary ceramic structure. The micro-porous filter element of Katadyn ceramic has an average pore size of 0.2 = 0.0002 mm. It safely removes from the water suspended solids and agents of water borne diseases such as typhoid, dysentery, cholera, amoebic, giardiasis and cryptosporidiosis. Benefits of Katadyn ceramic filters: Safe and reliable disinfection as well as clear filtration of water, therefore double function in the same system and process. Ecological and simple process without the use of chemicals. The natural taste and mineral content of the water are retained. The effectiveness is independent of the water quality. The filter elements are easily regenerated by simple brushing of their surface. This means long life span and therefore cost-effective operation. The filter elements are suitable for operation after ozone.

Longitudinal cut of a self-disinfecting Katadyn Filter Element Micro-porous ceramic filter element - removes water suspended solids and agents of water borne diseases. Finely distributed silver, incorporated in the ceramic structure - prevents bacteria from growing through the pores of the ceramic. - disinfects the filter element continuously. Filling with Katadyn silver quartz - acts against potential infections from the outlet side. Katadyn Filter elements are unique, with multiple safety! No chemicals are being used for disinfection.
