comment on MICHAEL BROOME’S messages on

attitude, service, teamwork, and leadership

Michael’s commitment to education is demonstrated by his founding

of the Broyhill Leadership Conferences for teens.
Over 29,000 students from throughout North America have attended the
weeklong summer conferences.
Michael and his staff of educators teach students how to set goals, become team players
and leaders, develop their self-esteem, and overcome negative peer pressures.
It is a life changing experience for many attendees.

“Your keynote was a great success. It opened our conference with enthusiasm and set the stage for the rest of the weekend. The
comments I received personally included remarks such as: „He‟s the best speaker we‟ve ever had,‟ „Wonderful Keynote Address,‟
„Where‟d you find him? He was wonderful,‟ and „I thoroughly enjoyed Michael Broome!”
Carolyn Kelley, Program Coordinator/President-Elect - South Carolina Technical Education Association
“I found your presentation to be informative, humorous, insightful and thought-provoking. Your easy manner, sincerity, and
commitment to young children impressed all in attendance, and we (collectively) left the presentation with a feeling of optimism
and strength. The true measure of your message, however, has been the number of teachers, counselors and administrators,
instructional assistants and support staff who have expressed their thanks to me for scheduling you as our opening day keynote
speaker. You clearly communicated the mission for educators coupled with the satisfaction one can receive as a result of working
with children.”
Sean Gilrein, Superintendent of Schools - Dudley-Charlton Regional School District
“The evaluations of the evening reflected the quality of your presentation and it was very well received by the attendees. Among
the evaluation comments was: „Michael Broome was motivational without being overly touchy, feely.‟ Others indicated they‟d like
to hear you again and called you „excellent,‟ with great humor.”
Lynn Mannion, Assistant Executive Director for Communications - Pennsylvania School Boards Association, Inc.
“Conference attendees were extremely pleased with program content this year and we want to acknowledge your role in our
success. The valuable information you provided will hopefully be shared with others for the benefit of all in higher education.”
David O’Neill, ACUTA President - Association of College & University Telecommunications Administrators
“ „Wow…what a terrific presentation!‟ „Funny…motivational…great message!‟ „What a powerful way
to end a conference!‟ Just a few comments that I heard about your recent presentation at our
Conference of the Virginia Association of Vocational Administrators. The conference participants
rated your presentation as „outstanding+++.‟ What a natural gift you have to be able to motivate
and inspire an audience and keep them laughing at the same time. I can‟t thank you enough for the
part you played in making this conference a success.”
Lydia Bell, Virginia Association of Vocational Administrators - Henrico County Public Schools
“On behalf of the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Community College System, I
thank you for serving as a keynote speaker. The information you presented will prove valuable to
the participants and many complimentary comments were made regarding your presentation. I a
grateful for your effort.”
Lolita Hall, State Coordinator - Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Education
“Your presentation at our orientation program before 2200 freshmen presented a wealth of significant issues and topics relative to
collegiate life in a humorous and thought provoking way. You provided students with an opportunity to analyze their beliefs and
modify their behavior to ensure success in college and life.”
Dino DiBernardi, Director - Appalachian State University
“I want to thank you for coming to our homecoming banquet and speaking to our alumni. Everyone so much enjoyed your
presentation and left feeling great about their alma mater. Your material and presentation length was very appropriate for our
