The game
Game idea
The idea of the game is it to create a network race. Each player has his own topology which is identical to the topology of the other players. The player can chose between 4 Levels, each level needs a diffrent skill.

System requirements
To be able to play the game you must have a pc system which has to be similar to one of the following systems: Packet Tracer 5.3.3

Minimum conguration
CPU: Intel Pentium III 500 MHz or equivalent OS: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7, Fedora 11 or Ubuntu 8.04 LTS RAM: 256 MB Storage: 250 MB of free disk space Display resolution: 800 x 600 Adobe Flash Player Language fonts supporting Unicode encoding Latest video card drivers and operating system updates

Play the game


At the beginning each player must connect themself to the game server. When each player has a connection to the game server, the game is started by the instructor. You need to be fast now, the player who reached the goal rst will win. The player must use the program telnet to navigate through the diffrent hops. A HTML-page with hints and an instruction is located on a web server which runs at the beginning network of the player. The player must solve exercises to reach his goal and win the game. The player gains percent points for every successfully solved excersice in his topology. The percent state of the other players are displayed in a webbrowser, so the player can see the success of the other one. Here are some topics wihch must be congured in the exercises: Routing protocols Accesslists VLANs Portsecurity NAT DHCP

Hints
The hints on the webserver should help the player to solve the excercises faster and give him a better overview over the topologie. A hint for example can have a structure like that: Server (Start): Welcome message (Mainquest/Subquest) Continents are connected via serial connections s/0/0/1 -> right, s0/1/1 -> left, s0/0/0 -> top, s0/1/0 -> bottom Only private addresses Countries has 10.x.x.0 /24 networks Notes to problems

Winning conditions
The player who nd and correct all the errors at rst and reach the target point will win the game.
