Participant Information Sheet Project Title: Students attitudes towards male and female domestic abuse Background of the

study This study requires volunteers to sign up and participant in the study on their own accord. It is entirely a voluntary study and any Psychology Undergraduate Student from Cardiff Metropolitan University is welcome to take part. This study aims to look at the attitudes of students towards domestic abuse and to determine whether there are any gender effects between opinions. All participants will be rewarded with course credits as a thank you for participating in the study and to show appreciation for taking time to complete the questionnaire.

What will happen? Once you have signed up to the study, you will receive an email with an attachment. This attachment will contain an information sheet, which needs to be read thoroughly and carefully and the questionnaire will then follow. The questionnaire will take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.

Can I withdraw from the study? As the questionnaire is based on domestic abuse, it is understandable that this can be a sensitive subject and therefore if any participants feel uncomfortable at any time, they can withdraw from the study at any time.

Confidentiality All information you provide will be kept anonymous and will not be used for any other purposes other than this study. The information you provide will be used by myself and my supervisor only and will be kept in a secure file. Once the study has been completed, all information and documents will be destroyed. At no point in the study will you be asked your name. However, you will be asked your gender and student number in order to identify your questionnaire if withdrawal from the study is required. Once you have completed the study and e-mailed it back to myself, you will then receive your course credits. If you have any further queries or require further information about the study please contact me at ST10003685@outlook.uwic.ac.uk If you have been affected by this sensitive subject and feel the need to talk to somebody, please contact student services at to make an appointment: Telephone: 029 2041 6170 or Email: studentcounselling@uwic.ac.uk Please note that by continuing with this study you are giving your informed consent.
