Pons Pierce Dura Mater transverse cavernous sinus and orbital fissures Enters orbits and supply lateral rectus VII.Posterior border of pons Exits thru Internal Acoustic Meatus Facial canal of temporal bone Through geniculate ganglion (sensory) Stylomastoid foramenenters parotid glandforms intracranial nerve plexus VIII. Groove between Pons and medulla Internal acoustic meatus Vestibular Nerve(vestibular ganglion) Cochlear Nerve
( spinal ganglion)

IX. Rostral end of medullaExits via jugular foramen(superior inferior ganglia) Follow stylopharyngeus to reach oropharynx and tongue(posterior third) X. Lateral sides of medulla Exits via jugular foramen Cont along carotid sheath supplies pharynx, larynx, and palate supplies heart, lungs, bronchiform anterior and posterior trunks that join esophageal plexus

XI. Rootlets from cervical segments ascend into cranial cavity via foramen magnum exit thru jugular foramendescend along internal carotid artery innervating sternocleidomastoid cervical region innervates trapezius(pain and proprioception) XII.Arises as purely motor in medullaleaves cranium by hypoglossal canalsupplies extrinsic tongue muscles
