There is a saying I think being different, going against the grain of society is the greatest thing in the world. Frankly, events or situations which inspire anyone are nearly infinite. Rest assured, but I guess what fuels me or motivates me is, being different from common genre, different in perspective. For me, obviously always doing something different mattered more but never meant doing something foolish or unreasonable. I want to rationalize, evaluate and answer questions through my viewpoint with only the necessary guidance from the superior selves. My educational orientation has always been something off-beat, not by the common grill in my country. In here engineering, medical, law is the most favored education. BSc in Geology, Masters Diploma in Geoinformatics and MSc in Marine Sciences underlines the same chores I am trying to state. What drives me to continue study about earth sciences and especially oceanography; I may not call it as a passion. I just want to gather as many answers to multitude of questions that I have. I am just excessively curious, the precise reason I am willing to pursue Ph. D. I would like to mention respectable factor about this project is the interdisciplinary aspect, and interoperable approach. I am fully aware that the information given in the advertisement is petite to comment on it; but to the best of my knowledge I can attempt to gauge its depth. Crafting different domains of the fields in natural sciences and gelling out the best possible analytical trait to it is laudable and I am deeply willing to work on related notions. This very much interdisciplinary approach is most appealing aspect and I feel intrigued by it. For me, this opportunity could prove yet another chance to explore a different approach rather than commonly accepted ones. My masters thesis is titled as Channel dimensions and Paleodischarge estimates of buried channel system in Palk Bay, East coast of India. The thesis outlines the possible process of formation of those paleochannels and tries to estimate and evaluate mode of formation e.g. via Fluvial processes or tidal processes. The thesis also takes into consideration the post-glacial melt episodes to in an attempt to provide possible reasoning for the formation of the buried channel system. Though this approach does not have a direct link up with the mentioned project but to assure you I have broad acquaintance with concepts of geomorphology and sedimentology. This can be surely employed positively while analyzing various aspects related to it. Also sound knowledge of Geoinformatics can prove to be helpful if needed. To talk about my educational backgrounds I believe I have gained respectable ranks till date in my educational career. I humbly would like to point a few of my educational achievements, a fairly good rank during graduation (5th in University of Pune, Department of Geology) and both of post-graduate courses (A- Grade for Geoinformatics and O-grade for Marine Sciences. Not only in studies but I also have contributed largely in extra-curricular activities such as drama competitions, college magazines, script writing etc. To consider my professional experience I have worked at TeleAtlas Kalyani India Ltd. (currently as TomTom India Ltd.) for 2 years shouldering number of title roles which included Wind Resource Engineer, Business Development Executive, Team Leader, Project Validation and Benchmarking (PVB) Engineer. This multifaceted work culture has prepped me to offer my duties in a flexible

working environments and handling considerably tough situations. The details for the same are mentioned in CV attached. If I have evaluated myself quite fairly I would like to describe myself as a Good Leader. I have a curious nature, good eye for detail and frank attitude. Though I dont consider myself as a perfectionist, still I always have tried my level best to maintain the best possible quality of the any task at hand considering the situation. I try to be methodical as much as possible but not too resolute towards it. To be honest, I do appear headstrong and impatient about some issues if the situation restricts the outcome. But if given a chance I am a very good student, teammate and researcher with loads of curiosity and ambition. It is possible that the level of proficiency I have may not be at par but, I am willing to put in best of my efforts in acquiring them if given a chance. On a slighter note, I do not have any knowledge of the German Language but I am genuinely willing to put in extra efforts to learn it to a level as much as required. I hope this document confidently provides the inspiring factors and also academic, professional & adequate personal insight for selection committee members in a best way; to consider me for the doctoral position for the mentioned project.
