7. The result:
7.1. According to the last Century Football World Cups, we are confident that, there is not one specialist, organization, association (World, Confederations, National FA, or individuals) to know everything about Football Concept of Performance! 7.2. We came to the conclusions that the so called professionals in football- are discussing without scientific support, the Football Frontiers of Sciences! 7.3. Our common effort is to convince the coaches- to accept to be free to think without frontiers of sciences, traditions, knowledge, enrolling in the world specialists through a continuing education concept and program. 7.4. Our studys contribution is adding to the FIFA, UEFA (and other confederations), NATIONAL F.A. and particularly, to the Coaches without Frontiers from all over the world, individual specialized in football and the frontiers of football sciences. 7.5. Through this effort, we want to thanks to the wonderful leaderships of FIFA & ALL 6 CONFEDERATIONS and 208 NATIONAL F.A. for the support, understanding and effort to promote a Modern Concept of Performance, for the VISION 2030 (for the next 5 world cups and 5 Confederations Cup = 10 superb demonstration of Human Intelligence, or a new generation of Intellectual specialists in all frontiers of Football Sciences.) 7.6. To all who is supporting the concept of INTELECTUALIZATION OF THE FOOTBALL SPECIALISTS, THIS is another IMPORTANT OBJECTIVE IN THE DEVELOPING OF THE FIFA MOTTO: For the world of football, and we can adds, FOR THE WORLD OF FOOTBALL AND HIS PEOPLE Good Luck & Enjoy: We are proposing that the young coaches need to get the entire study, as a referencematerial, a Theory of Practice and all sciences interconnected with football, with and for the benefit of football-in generally and for each one of the Coaches-particularly. We are suggesting to pass through the CONTENT; Then, pass through the chapters and the content aspects; Stay in one interesting chapter/part and try to understand the presentation; Compare with your CONCEPT OF PERFROMANCE; Write down, what you need-practically, to improve your Professional Strategies; Apply-practically and convince that you need to change yourself, to be able to change the concept and practically, your players and team, people, opponents through your magic new ideas.

THE ANALYSIS OF EURO-2012 2.1. The official games results:

(AAFF-Thank you UEFA-for presentation)!
The UEFA European Football Championship consists of three stages: the qualifying group stage, the play-offs and the 16-team final tournament in Poland and Ukraine from 8 June to 1 July 2012. Qualifying-group-stage The 51 entrants were drawn into nine groups, six of six teams and three of five. Matches are played on a home-and-away basis between 3 September 2010 and 11 October 2011. The nine winners and the runner-up with the best record against the top five sides in their pool qualify directly for the final tournament. The eight remaining runners-up enter the play-offs. Play-offs The four sides with the best UEFA national team coefficient ranking will be seeded with a draw determining the pairing and order of home and away ties. The first legs will be played on 11 or 12 November and the returns on 15 November. The teams which score the greater aggregate of goals in each tie qualify for the finals, with away goals and then penalties used to determine the winner in the event of a draw. Final-tournament Poland and Ukraine will be placed in the first pot of four, along with holders Spain if they qualify, for the final tournament draw. The remaining teams will be ranked as per coefficients, and will be drawn into four groups of four teams with the top two reaching the quarter-finals. The competition is then played as a straight knockout. Further details, including the criteria for separating teams that finish level on points in a group, or after extra time in a match, can be found in the official competition regulations. You can also find the official match schedule here.

2.2 The Methodology and Technology of Study:

ROUND 1: WINNING FORMULA IN 6 GAMES FACTORS

The most efficient performance coaches education is, that: THE BEST INSTRUCTOR FOR FOOTBALL IS THE OFFICIAL CHAMPIONS CONCEPT!
1. We are learning together about the game of the game-football, 2. We are learning from the champions of champions and, 3. We are learning with our mind, knowledge and interest! This method is the most effective, because you are learning for what you see, you understand, you compare with your concept, you change your professional strategies, you are another professional football coach! This study is done only by the former, actual & future professional coaches!

A simple model: The coaches, before the game and particularly after the game, they are
presenting the games, with comments which are not showing the really content of the game to reflect the game and the result, disclosed his professionalism in front of his own players and teams, opponents, specialists and supporters from his own country and from the world of football This was the reason to compose a SHORT GAME ANALYSIS ON 6 MAIN FACTORS, starting from a simple DIALOGUE; "How was the game, from major 6 technical and strategically professional points of view"? What are the main factors? What the team was managing the Energy, to "Play in Attack and Defense, from non-stop situations and Set Plays", etc In our study of EURO-2012, we use for the first round, this formula, being important for our general orientation of the result and to present to the coaches to: 1. READ, 2. UNDESRTAND THE OFFICIAL GAME, 3. TO ACCEPT AND MODIFY ACCORDING TO THEIR PROFESIONALISM AND OF COURSE, 4. Finally, ADDING TO THEIR PRACTICAL CONCEPT OF PERFORMANCE AND ACTIVITY.

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Important was for us to have all the game, evaluated with the 6 FACTORS GAME PROFILE; All those teams are divided in 2 groups: QUALIFIED and ELIMINATED There are many similarities between the teams, but, the competitions rules established 2 groups Our observation + evaluation + diagnosis and = decision are VERY CLOSE TO THE REALITY. If you are asking anyone who was watching all the games/teams was surprised how different are the teams, when you are judging the main 6 factors of the GAMES PROFILE.

Has been a non-combat gameto rich the penalties The game was good but not very good! Both teams! Defending and playing for counter-attack. Penalty the psychological problem for England! This was not playing wellTwo opposed systems!?! Both teams in the penalty area played by hands. The game was almost equal, from all points of view. With a super-goalkeeper+super-skilled players!?!? Impression was that Spain wants to get to penalties! The English coach was declared! NO Penalties? Equal game; better Spain + super-Spain in Penalties Correct result!

DIAGNOSIS FOR THE FINALS:

DIGNOSIS, OF THE 3 GROUPS OF THE 36 GAMES FACTORS: Technical Note:
1. The finals of the Euro-2012, was a wonderful game, but the Italian national Teams, due to the exceptional effort during the 6 games of the tournament: 3 games in qualifications + 1. Quarter Finals, 1. Semi-Finals and 1. Final, they were not able to play the entire game at the highest their value. 2. The evaluation, diagnosis and conclusions for the finals are, almost the same as the conclusions for the semi-finals, which were for us the 4 corner of the Euro -2012; 3. But, we are happy that the results are almost the same!

GOOD LUCK!

1.There is a National& Individual Concept of Performance:

1.1.Playing, 1.2.Training and 1.3.Recovery System; *The most import characteristics of a National FA, of a National Team, Club adults and centers of development for youth, is the CONCEPT OF PEPRFORMANCE.

2. We use the following algorithm, to study the Euro-2012:

2.1. Watching the entire competition; 2.2.Analysingthorugh 3-D system: Evaluating, Diagnosing and Conclusions; 2.3. Studying, observing intentionally, 2.4. Gathering the information, behavior during the games, 2.5. We get the conclusions that the teams were played a very different concept of performance football, and,

3. Our conclusions are simple, common sense of the main factors of performance:
3.1. The prestige and level of performance; 3.2. The tonality of dialogue and art of communication, 3.3. Positive Energy, 3.4. Professional scientific knowledge, 3.5. Direction of Positive or Negative attitude and performances; 3.6.Commitment to football, 3.7. Creative solutions; 3.8. Intelligent game strategies were expression of the COACHES and the SUPER-TEAMSTARS VALUE;

4.The Coaches Personality:

4.1. Mental genetic abilities, capacities and Intelligences: The more the coaches are professionals, they behavior as international games intellectuals: 4.2. Endurance and creativity in the stress conditions, using Thinking, to TIMING the Optimum Decisions; 4.3. Code of Communication expressed by verbal and body language-dictionary, of their value, in all coaches situations.

5.Thats why we believe in the particularly coaches education For only 3-categories-professions of football coaches;
5.1.Youth; 5.2.Professional Club, and; 5.3. NATIONAL TEAMS!

6.Thats way, the NEW STRATEGIES OF PYRAMID OF LIFE COACHES AND PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT we proposed to FIFA, Confederations and National FA, and SUPER-STARS-PLAYERS:
6.1. WITH good IQ (Intelligent IQ); 6.2.EQ, (Balance and self-control of the Emotional Intelligence), 6.3.PQ (Professional Intelligence/creativity, talent, abilities and pleasure), 6.4. SQ (Social Intelligence of leadership) to TIMING IN SELETING THE OPTIMUM DECISION, VARIANT, makes the difference between the coaches personality! Etc...

7.Thats way, the NEW STRATEGIES OF PYRAMID OF LIFE COACHES AND PLAYERS DEVELOPMENT we proposed to FIFA, Confederations and National FA, all SUPER-PLAYERS:
7.1. WITH good IQ (Intelligent IQ); 7.2.EQ, (Balance and self-control of the Emotional Intelligence), 7.3.PQ (Professional Intelligence/creativity, talent, abilities and pleasure), 7.4. SQ (Social Intelligence of leadership) to TIMING IN SELETING THE OPTIMUM DECISION, VARIANT, makes the difference between the coaches personality! Etc...

8. MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY:
In the last 3 World Cups and 2 European Tournament, there is the same phenomenon happens and the teams are not protesting, accepting the situation which is from scientific point of view, a very special cause of being impossible the teams to play at their full capacities. Europe, 2012, Rubber and Snyder here the first to become out of energy. No freshness The same as in the game of Bayern vs. Chelsea the same players, were out of energy, start well and then, loss of energy. Freshness, accuracy with the ball control and unsuccessful combinations. One of the master art and game science of ROBIN, during Holland Vs. Denmark, was received a very long ball, from the Goalkeeper-direct, in attack, has successfully controlled the ball getting insight in his style, shooting in post, ....a classical master-creative game strategies the super-star Robin is doing when the MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY IS CORRECT! *Going back to the World Cup 2010 and now, Euro-2012, the MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY HAS BEEN (and remained, FOR ANY GAME AND COMPETITIONS) THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE PLAYERS, TEAMS, AND THEIR RESULTS: Coming back to the EURO-2012: 8.1. *The group of Elite Latin National Teams as: 1. France, 2. Holland, 3. England, even 4.Germany, and in the final, for the Euro-2012, Italy were out of competitions just because they lost the control of the game, following shortage of energy to play at their normal capacities and value. 8.2. * The second group valor as: 1.Croatia, 2.Sweden, 3.Danmark, and; 8.3. * The other group of the national teams, like: 1.Poland, 2.Urkaina, 3.Russia, 4.Czech Republic, 5. Greece, 6.Republick of Ireland 8.4. * Except, Portugal and the champion Spain, all the national teams were eliminated from the competitions, following the same phenomenon; WRONG-MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY:

8.5. Causes:
1. The players are too much involved in a Club LEAGUES (The main Goals of Players, Clubs and Confederations); 2. The same players are playing in the national teams, a very difficult program, playing many teams who are playing against the super-stars CONCENTRATED and forcing the super-stars to play very well in order to win, and qualify with the National Teams 3. So, the alternative of 2 years WORLD CUPS AND EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS, + THE NATIONAL LEAGUES AND SUPER-LEAGUESARE FORCING THE COACHES, THE SUPORT SCIENCES STAFF TO KEEP THEM IN continue optimum sport estate, for 10 month/year, for years, each of the games, being important or very important for the Club and National Teams.

9. THERE ARE 3-D CONCEPT OF PERFORMANCE-FOOTBALL SCHOOLS: 9.1. The LATIN Football Concept of performance is a perfect 3-D:
1.Football is A SCIENCE: made by the professional educated-intellectual football specialists
and the basic components are:

2. Football is ART, made by the super-star-players through their creative art of skills and
game strategies to win;

3. Football is BIG BUSINESS, made by the Coaches and Players = through the teams
performances.

9.2.THE ANGLO-SAXON FOOTBALL CONCEPT IS ALSO 3-D, but A REVERS 3-D OF THE LATIN FOOTBALL CONCEPT:
9.1. Football is ONLY A VERY BIG BUSINESS: WINNING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! 9.2. Football is ART: MADE BY THE STAR PLAYERS, from all over the world rent a
player!

9.3. Football is A SCIENCE: Made by the COACHES which are the 3rd factor of
performance.

9.3. THE MIX CONCEPT OF PERFORMANCE:

The countries which get the chance to have a LATINO, OR ANGLO-SAXON FOOTBALL COACHES, FOR THE NATIONAL TEAMS OR CLUB TEAMS, composed a performance concept, with factors, elements, strategies from the coaches experience, A MIXTURE, almost without international value, but, there is a beginning and this is very important, for their football national concept of, performance development.

Page

53

10. The football coaches are like the games = 3-D/categories:

1.1. Beginners; 1.2. Advanced & 1.3. Elite. * The classification is made individually, according to: age, education, practical experience; knowledge, creativity, The interrelationships between the Intelligences, personality, character, temperament, level of professional culture, etc..

11.- 2008-2010 & 2012 = New Concept of performance- Playing System, we named:
1. Playing in 3-ZONES OF THE FIELD, according to the ball position; 2. By playing with 3-4 players in every ZONES; 3. Managing the effort by using the 3-efforts;

4. Playing 3-D, skills Attack+3-D skills for Defense and 3-D, for Set
Plays (in attack &defense).

12.Degeneration of playing in Defense:

Defense sick players mind:
One of the most important psychological, sociological, game skills and Strategies, to be discussed, review and trained is: avoiding to play, violent, brutal, over the limits of human sport intelligence and limits of accepting the common-sense of the laws of the games: We called: Sick STATE OF THE MIND of the players who lost the ball: * If you dribble the defender, will fault you just to take the ball, or to respond for his

Page

54

incapacity to stop the ball, of the man, or ball and the man, etc.: Example: *One normal game situation: of the Portugal v. Germany, alone with the ball. The German was coming from outside desperately and dive for the ball, with two legs, to kill first the opponent and maybe can catch the ball(judging after his commitment to brutal game); There are two classical situations, FIFA/UEFA/N.F.A. and COACHES TO TAKE: First Variant: Most of the game situations , the players with the ball, accepting the fault, falling down, crying , because he was attacked brutal, violent and close to the barrier of human and animal intelligent attitude. As result? Injuries, yellow or red card, stop the game, losing time and mental energy for all players, some time, the players are starting fighting and the teams are losing the mental game positive attitude, Optimum zone concentration, for the game ,players with the ball accepting deliberately to be Kicked/Faulted Coaches are losing the temper, the spectators are mad and from here, the game is degenerating permanentlysituation 1 out of 4 game situations the aggressive and brutal game situation are for Yellow Card and even red Card! In the second variant, and this is our proposal to the coaches, physical fitness and even Psychology game specialists, etc... (Support staff), The Portuguese player, show the German that is coming to faulting him, by diving-dangerous play- when the defender was starting the violent attack. Portuguese, very intelligent and skillfull player, was pushing the ball in front, to be able to get later, and jump over the legs and body of the German defender, AVOIDING TO BE FAULTED, and continuing to get the ball and play (exceptional skill).

13. Playing in attack, individual player with ball, from outside left or right, wings or full back, get insight, dribble and shoot, or pass, and goals, etc.
Page

1. Spain David Villa - Spain, scored many goals from lefts side( being right foot players), or/and Robin Holland, who is a left foot-players(is doing from right side-to left) 2. The players fakes simple outside and in a full speed, dribble the ball insight:

55

Variant-1: getting a short space and shooting, direct, unexpected and scored; Variant-2: Is continuing to dribbling insight and then, shoot. Variant-3:If he cant shoot, then find a partner and play classical 1-2-1 shoot &score; Variant 4: Pass to the 2 players who is passing to the 3rd players, shoot and goalin full speed, extreme de short space, superb precision, and everything in a full speed, non-stop(like they are playing with the hands, maybe better!)Non-stop (Like they are playing with the hands, maybe better!)

14. Fighting for the ball, is an art, skills, timing to get the momentum to kick the ball: David Silva, shorter, but more intelligent, get the TIMING MOMENTUM? We are advocating the Intelligent skills, creative new situations, avoiding to play only power!

Page

56

15. Portugal Nr. 17, jumps with the hands like he wants to catch the ball with the hands. This is a trick to disturb the goalkeeper and make him miss the ball!

16. - The 2 stoppers of the Portugal team were played like American Football: pushing, kicking holding, without direct message that they want to win under any circumstances.

Page

57

17. - Unfortunately, they lost the mental control and acted like desperate, without the change to come back to the optimum state of mind, causing damages to the game and results.

Page

58

18. - This is almost the same picture in the penalty area, at all free kicks, corners, the ball is expected to be played in the penalty area! * What the football needs? * What do we want? * FIFA, UEFA TO REPLAY THE DANGEROUSE PLAYS. * Changing the rules to be respected by the referee, and

19.- Cassano-Italy (final Euro-2012), this is the magic triangle and square of Spain in defense with 3 or/and-4 players jumping on the man with the ball and forcing him to lose the ball, and they get the ball without making fault! Forcing the player to play 1 leg vs. 6-8 legs!

20. This time the situation is reverse. The Italians are 4 but there is a factor of Spanish team/ Players, called timing, even being between 4 players, trying to win the ball, to keep the ball, to block the ball, to win the time, to have time to compose the game, TIME is the time to be used: trained and mental prepared by the modern coaches

Page

59

21. Gomez = heading goal: Portugal. Vs. Germany What we want to show, how
important is a center forward big, skilled, for any team!

22. The Free Kicks against SPAIN, but Cassillas is there. Watch wall of 5 players jumping! There is
a trick, taking the position left side, and forcing the shooter to get right side, where the goalkeeper is ready to expect the ball and the danger is almost normal game situations. This was making all tournaments that the FREE KICKS are the last skills/strategies for the Euro-2012, too!

Page

60

A picture expressed 1000 words, 2 pictures = 10 words & German Football metamorphosis!

`
23. The two of the best players Gomez and Ozil are not Germans (one of the best football country, in football Anglo-Saxon). The question is now: What will be the future? Nationalization free, or hunting the best from all over the world, like for the club: The clubs are already without frontiers! FIFA is the second United Nations, why we are not finding a solution: for the best for all participants and the future health of football!

Page

61

24. Two of the Germans coaches: Left site-Luther Mathaus/coaching Bulgaria (Law professional coaching personality profile) and Ottmar Fitzfeld/ a very successfully, coaching Switzerland, with excellent results, demonstrating that coaches are dividing in 3 categories, and the value of former players are relatively connected with the coaches super-value, without education and many other qualities to become a mater in coaching!

25. The Ukrainian European super-stars SEVCHENKO, 2 Corners, 2 goals, Ukraine vs. 4 players, with a superb intuition of the game, was getting in full speed and scored against 1-0 and the same for the 2nd goal = 2-0

Page

62

26. - One of the most wonderful goals of the championship was scored by super-star IBRAHIMOVICH-Sweden, with skills of scissors!

27. - Dangerous play? NO! It is from master Ronaldo! A super-star-psychological-problem!

Page

63

28.- Xabi Alonso scored

29.- Pirlo vs. 3 English players = 0-0 and the penalties decided against the English N.T. andoutWatch the English players admiring Pirlo, but who is attacking the Italian super-star, who make history again, in Euro-2012, by his style of Penalty and brilliant intelligence, skills and superb strategies of playing modern LATIN football!

Page

For all Euro-2012. We are convinced that players like this value, needs more psychological support, particularly in the games of prestige, importance, for Portugal NT, as well as for Real Madrid.

64

30. Ronaldo is very emotionally player, no Free Kick and his behavior was a question mark!

31. - Ballottelli = Magic African football blood, adopted early age and growing in Italy/LATIN FOOTBALL environment = superb player FORCING THE GOAL, BY PENETRATION WITH OR WITHOUT BALL AND SHOOT OR PASS: *Balotelli was the hero of ITALY vs. France he scored 2 superb goals and France was eliminated, by forcing the penetration in attack with the ball, or without the ball. Scoring 2 goals, making him one of the heroes of the Euro-2012. *Balotelli, or David Villa, was on the line of the defenders. When the ball comes from far back, 30-40-m. when the man with the ball passing the ball, the defenders made a pass in front, and Balottelli and David Villa, Center forward from Denmark, and many other players in the same situations, When the ball was kicked they were not offside, and, in the same time, starts running full speed, and the rest, were situation to score and they scored, or missed. This was happened in the conditions of the exceptional referees and their assistants and of course, at this interesting experiment made by FIFA and The new chief of the referees Italian Coluna (Who was sending during the first round 4 referees home for their mistakes)!

Page

32. Spain vs. Italy = 4-0

33. WHY THE REFEREES ARE NOT CALLING STOP?

Particularly when the ball is on the penalty area (at: Corner, Free Kicks) when the defenders, as well as forwards are playing violent and brutal on the ground or on the air, faulting with Body, Head, Hands, Elbows, Knees, Foot, pushing, holding, kicking, almost everthing-fault )?

Solution we proposed: REPLAY IN TV andelimination for 15 minutes without

replacing and playing on 10 players for only 15 minutes

Why the referees are not giving fault, penalty, red card, and elimination from the game, suspension for the next game? Because they are spoiling the game and the players are not stopping because they know that the referees are not spoiling the games, etcetc and the mascaraed is continuing as boxing - football!

34. Studying the GOALKEEPERS at the EURO-2012, WE CAME TO THE CONCLUSIONS, THAT:
Esp.: Check Republic, Italy and Spain Goalkeepers are the three models we observed intentionally: - The most successful goalkeepers are playing, with a intuition of the ball direction exceptional: - On the CORNERS AND CROSSES FOR FREE KICK, OR CROSSING FROM THE NON STOP SITUATION, very good Goalkeepers is playing outside the line-goal, TIMING THE CROSSES, CORNERS, SHOOTING TO THE GOALS, ETC - ON THE FREE KICKS; ARRANGING THE WALL AND HIS POSITION TO COVER A part of the goal and to able to move on the other side, as much as possible, in the same time with the ball, to stop it. - On the PENALTIES THERE IS NOT WAY TO GO ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SHOOT! Can be goal, but, the goalkeeper is in the same side with the shoot! Penalty area (6m.GK-area! Good Goalkeepers: GET THE BALL by CATCHING, DIVIATION, BOXING THE BALL, ETC - The goalkeeper organizing the team in defense by 2 lines of 3-4-5 players, in squares or triangles, at 3-5 m. distance, on the line of the ball, playing THE BALL, THE MAN, IN ZONE THE BALL ARRIVING+ THE Goalkeeper can play by boxing the ball - The Goalkeepers are the key player, the super-player, to help the team to win! -

Page

67

35. Variant of ATTACKING: (DIRECT, OR/AND INDIRECT)

- Positional (indirect & direct); - If is indirect pass in front of the defensive zone and decide: combining direct and indirect till optimal -Penetration in full speed, dribbling and forcing the best variant to shoot, pass, combination of 1-2-1; or, 1-2- for the 3rd players, shooting or getting FREE KICK, OR PENALTY? - Some of the good players are penetrating and shooting from outside the penalty and scoringthe variant can be played! - Long ball over the defenders, and trying to get the balls and shooting;

36. = Playing 1 vs. 1:

In DEFENSE: Timing, fundamental position, Let him move first and fake + get the get the OPPONENT between two moves, attack and get the ball; In ATTACK: Timing by controlling and protecting the ball through changing the position, speed, controlling with both legs and with one foot, (with several touches with interior and exterior of the foot), protecting by controlling, dribbling, running, and finally, after getting 2-3-4 opponents pass to the closes partner, to keep the ball control: In front, sides and back, just to kept the ball and games control.

37.- Playing in a group of 3-4 players, in 3 zones of the field, with 3 efforts, this being the the super-SPANISH-concept of playing the Football:
Winning the ball, by keeping, playing, possession of the ball, controlling the own players and teams; Controlling the ball and the opponent, controlling the game and the result of the game. Of course, the opponent is becoming nervous, ridicule, and impossibility to get the ball, except, by fault, or playing athletic, violent brutal.

Page

68

38.- ALSO WE CONSIDERING THAT THE WORLD COMPETITIONS SHOWS US A VERY SPECIAL PERFORMANCE IMPORTANCE OF: Physical fitness for football players:
1. DEVELOPMENT-training -a general preparation and development of power and strength (usually programs well known by all coaches & Physical Fitness); 2. ATHELETICS-training - for development of the three effort capacities to play, as: Anaerobe, Aerobe and Mix! This is the key of the SPANISH and the champions main factor of the game! (Management of energy)

3. ACROBATIC Training

39. Also, there is a need of Coaches Cod of Effective Communication verbal & non-verbal, between coache and the players?
*Negative: Mascaraed, circus, amateur behavior, is not helping the team, the coach, the player and football! *We have several examples from all competitions and, of course, from EURO-2012, but its not professional to name them. * To name only the coaches champion, is a honor and pleasure for the cod of communication, they have: 1.* Mandatory for all professional coaches is to understand-the necessity of having this COD OF COMMUNICATIONSL 2.* Then, to accept that information and suggestion, and psychological and technical support to the players, is a privilege only of INTELECTUAL SUPER-COACHES (a modern conductor through reading the game strategies and act, to be able to make the show, a big business, and win! 3.* Everything for the benefit of our professionalism, our players and teams, for football culture!

1. It is another advertisement to the professional coaches to understand that: 1.1. The game has 2 fundamental phases: a. Playing nonstop situation: relatively 60 min. + or 5 minutes out of 90 minutes; b. Play standard/set plays-situations: 30 min. + or 5 minute out of 90 minutes 1.2. From the set plays, the PENALTY SHOOT is a very complex and important game strategy: a. For the coaches, players and goalkeeper; b. There is a Psychological Creative Strategy of the modern football; c. There is a master strategic situation for player who is shooting and d. There is a master strategic situation for player goalkeepers; 1.3. What we are presenting is just a model, how to understand the PENALTY? A. For professional total football players shooting is not a problemshoot and score; B. For very professional goalkeepers: Like Italian-Spanish-Czech Rep= also, they are so well prepared because, they are not going to dive on the other side of the shoot, or, dont get, minimum 1-2 shoots of a number of 5-6-7 shoots! C. So, the things are simple Goalkeeper Skills and Strategies, a study of the players How they are coming to the ball, the foot, the direction, the speed and accuracythey have a intuition, un dialogue without talkingthey are masters, a very big pleasure to remember the big DUKADAM- who catch 4 penalties and Steaua Bucharest won the European cup, against Barcelonawho made the history.

4.1. New National Coaches before the ends were changed with a New Generation which is Already Arrived, in preparation for World Cup 2014 qualifications!
According to our studies regarding the COACHING PROFESSION, we find out that there are three major categories of coaches:
1. Coaches for Kids, Juniors & Youth; 2. Coaches for Senior, performance clubs; 3. Coaches for Select national, Teams Without doubt, the Coaches professional personality is the most important performance national Team, as well as for the Club and Youth activities, factor! To demonstrate that the National Football Associations are not interested in a CONTINUING EDUCATION, WITH THE SAME COACHES, TEAMWORK AND MAJOR GROUP OF STARS AND SUPER-STARS, the EURO-2012, WAS NOT YET FINISHED (analysis) and they changed already the COACHES (SOME OF THE NATIONAL FA - WERE READY WITH THE NEW COACH, BEFORE TO GO FOR THE FINAL TOURNAMENT! The question is normal, because, the other National Football Association in opposition are ready to ask for resignation and take-over and starts fresh, another period of national FAHistory, preparation for the World Cup 2012. So, the National System for Football Association is pushing the changes, because they will be changed too, so, the entire concept of log - range growing, developing, perfection, professionalizing, is on SOS! The question to be ask ourselves, is also simple: What kind of Concept of Performances the National FA wants to implement, with one coach + one team = 1 competitions? EVERY 2, 1 TEARS, and several situation working for only few months! Who can believe that a MAGIC COACH, can make a team and going to qualify the team without time, TEAMWORK: leaders, medical/scientific and technical specialists under a CONCEPT OF PERFORMANCE AND A PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY, CAN REALLY TO HOPE TO PERFORM!

So you want to be a professional coach? UEFA has been asking this question of students at its innovative UEFA Pro license student exchange courses in recent times. Participants are confronted with a number of issues which make them reflect not only on the pleasures, but also the pitfalls of a job which brings its major share of pressure. The latest edition of the official UEFA coaching publication UEFAtechnician looks at the implications of becoming a coach, and how coaching is perhaps not so much a job of work but ultimately a life choice. In his column, UEFA technical director Andy Roxburgh recalls the challenging question put to UEFA Pro student exchange candidates by eminent English technician Howard Wilkinson "Are you obsessed by the subject [coaching], and are you ready to commit the rest of your life to it?" Roxburgh emphasises the particular demands on a professional coach, and how they can endanger a person's well-being and family life due to the requirements of players, media, sponsors and owners. "In professional football," he explains, "the to-do list is exacting, but it is the pressure that is wearing. The constant demand to produce results, the burden of dealing with elite players, the stress of trying to satisfy hungry media, and the multifarious difficulties imposed by time restraints, crisis situations, intrusive agents and all-powerful owners take their toll." This notwithstanding, Roxburgh considers that for most top coaches, the highs outweigh the lows. And for those UEFA students who do go into the profession, the realities will soon become clear. "It will be a job which quickly becomes a way of life." Once into the job, coaches develop and mature, both as coaches and as people. UEFAtechnician analyses: 1.how many of the great coaches have learned through education, 2.work experience and 3. The invaluable advice given by mentors on their path towards the summit of their profession.

Page

80

4. In addition, the coaches did not necessarily have to be leading players Real Madrid CF boss Jos Mourinho is one shining example but they all count on special life experiences, qualities and personal characteristics that have molded them into successful technicians.

"It is a mixture of coach education, playing the game, coaching teams, making contacts, using mentors and working with football people which combines to produce the mature coach," says Roxburgh. "Coaches, then, need to know how to coach, teach, manage, lead, learn, communicate, organize, plan, prepare, analyze and select. But this will not be enough, as Vicente del Bosque, Spain's reigning world and European champion coach, said at a UEFA coaches' gathering: 'If you only know football, you are lost ... Top technicians Jos Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson and the others know football, but they also know about life ...'" Women's football is flourishing in Europe, and UEFAtechnician spotlights coaching in the female game. Two women, who are vastly respected, former Germany coach and triple EURO winner Tine Theune and current Scotland manager Anna Signeul, give a fascinating insight into the state of women's coaching as this area of football evolves constantly in tactical and technical terms. The two technical observers at the recent UEFA European Under-17 Championship finals in Slovenia, Ross Mathie and John Peacock, survey the evolution of youth football and especially how the balance must be found between creating a winning, creative mentality in youth teams while also placing priority on player development rather than results. Finally, UEFAtechnician salutes the coaches who reached the finals of the European club and national-team competitions in the 2011/12 campaign. It also gives a fascinating insight into the world of coaching, coach education and development, and the visions and philosophies of the leading technicians. Read the latest issue.

5.1.Football Coaches without Frontiers, believes that:

1.Football is a science, made by the Coaches and their scientific teamwork; 2. Football is an ART, made by the super-stars players; 3. Football is a business, if the SCIENCE/coaches can make ART/players, and only together can make the champions and really Business!

5.2. Also, there is a THEORY OF INTERNATIONAL PRACTICE ESTABLISHED THAT FOOTBALL IS:
1.International in his Content of Performance; 2.Football is NATIONAL, in his form of manifestations, style, qualifies; 3. Football is INDIVIDUAL, in his practical implementation!

5.3. Every National Team, Club and Professional Coaches has a Concept of Performance, composed by:
1.Concept-System of Playing official game, competitions, 2.Concept-System of Training/ Preparation, to get the Sport Estate, when the teams need, he wants and the competitions is playing; 3.Concept-System of Management of Energy: Recovery, storage and spend for life, preparation and game;

Page

102

5.4.The last 10 World Cups and the Continental Cups (Country and Clubs), Established that:
1. 2. There is a LATIN NATIONAL FOOTBALL SCHOOL, with creative Intelligent-Game Skills as the main quality; There is an ANGLO-SAXON FOOTBALL SCHOOL, with physical power and team discipline as main quality; There is a MIXT FOOTBALL SCHOOL and the main quality, is an imitation and combination of Latin and Anglo-Saxon Systems!

3.

5.5. There are three major football competitions, the National Football Ass. To respond every year(s)?
1. Youth FIFA - Competitions; 2. Club FIFA - Competition 3. National Teams FIFA-Competitions 4. Developed every 2 y.= Continental Every 4 years =FIFA World Cups

5.6. Every player is playing 60-70-80 & more games every year, nonstop, from 17-37 (Almost 20 years, HOW?
Over the Genetic, Biologic, Neurologic, Physiologic, Educational, Sport-Estate-OptimumValue, Compensatory training-preparation, Recovery+ Nutrition, Sport-Professional-SocialIndividual life discipline etc..: 1.One week, one month, one year, 2,3,4,5and starts PROBLEMS, PARTICULARLY, BETWEEN THE MANAGEMENT OF ENERGY vs. FRESHNESS-for each game; PLAYING FULL CAPACITY vs. Tiredness +Injuries, sicknesses, abnormal condition of life for 17-37 = 20 years of maximum effort! 2. There is another danger, THE CLUBS AND NATIONAL TEAMS PUSHING THE SPECIALISTS OVER THE NORMAL BIOLOGIAL CLOCK LAWS WITH SPECIAL: Support nutrition facts, Minerals, Vitamins and special medication to support almost all players body organs, apparatus, biological body systems, to be able to play (most of the time, they cant play at their capacities and: 2.1. The PLAYERS, COACHES, MANAGERS, REFEREES, ARE REPLACED AND BLAMED FOR IT!

Page

103

3. This is the scientific support for the people of football to ask FIFA to accept the scientific, technic, strategic and sportive adjustment to the 21st Century: modify LAWS OF THE GAME and increase nr. Of games, competitions, business (LIKE IN ANY PRODUCTIVE BUSINESS).

5.7.Except SPAIN, all the other national teams at EURO-2012, the rest were not able to play at their own level + capacity:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Mental: lake of concentration and relaxation, making several mistakes, mixing the games decisions; Physical: they fall slowly, slowly down, as all the teams, except Spain; Games Skills were unable to show the players and teams lucidity The teams were not ready for playing a continental competition. In this situation, we asked FIFA & UEFA-, to review some of the most important aspects of the VISION 2012-2030, for the next 5 world cups+5 Euro-Cups!

5.8. VISION 2012-2030

The competitions are: 1.Increasing, the number of games/efforts vs. the time short for complete recovery after every game; 2. Forcing the players and the Medical Staff to increase Effort and nutrition and supplements. 3.Cutting short time to play, than normal; 4. More injuries happened various sicknesses, etc... 5. The performances are not coming because of tiredness

Page

104

5.9.The mandatory adjustment required by Football to the 21st Century life and performances:

Vision 2030, next 5 World Cups

1.Free Substitute of 20 de players all time during 90 2.Play 70effective time for/game 3. Replay on the TV. stadium difficult-strange-situations 4.Stay on the 3 referees in the field + 1 outside 5. Violent attack, 15 minutes of the game out, without replacement, playing minus 1-player! 6.Professionalism for referees: Juniors + Youth + Adults 7. Players-transfer to play N. Teams TB-Solved? etc 8. National technical and scientific center for all N-FA.

5.10. - How the FIFA, Confederations, F.A. the Football People-specialists in Football, support The new vision 2012-2030?
Here are few of our proposals, in view of life written unwritten life laws of success: ADDAPTING TO THE NEEDS OF THE 21st CENTRUY!

105

The FIFA MOTTO: FOR THE GOOD OF THE GAME: needs to add AND FOR HIS PEOPLE
MAIN CONCLUSIONS IN THE 21ST CENTURY: Announced after the World Cup 2010 & Euro: 2008+ 2012:
*There is not playing system as: 4-2-4; 3-5-2; 4-3-3; 4-4-2, ETCetc. Those are only formations, positions the teams are passing through changing in every second of the gamein another formation, wrong called playing systems. Does means that every team is playing hundreds systems/ formations during a 90 minutes official game?

Page

106

The new LATIN Football Playing System is called:

Playing in 3 zone of the field, according to the ball positions

ZONE 1:The active zone of the game

1-15/20m from around the ball; * 3-4 group of players; * Intensity is maximum: * Effort: Alactacide & Lactacide (3-10 seconds); * Maximum concentration 100%

ZONE 2: The average zone of the game: 15/20M-30/35M, around the ball;

3-4 group of players Intensity is medium: 50-75%, according to the ball direction; Effort Mix (Anaerobe + Aerobe, according to the ball direction; Concentration is average 50%;

ZONE 3:The far away zone of the game:

35m, till the limits of the field; 2-3 group of players, according to the needs of changing g the ball and the direction of the attack; Intensity of the effort is small, about 25%, according to the position of the ball; Effort is Aerobe, this being the most important period of recovery for all the players and being ready to get again in zone2 and 1, with more oxygen in the body and brain Concentration is less, minimum, waiting to play and change the ball on the Other side on the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal play

Page

THE SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION OF SPANISH/BARCELONA PLAYING SYSTEM IS: SCIENCE + ART + THE COMMON SENS OF THE GAME AND LIFE:

107

Play in 3 zones of Concentration and Relaxation:

The key of the management of energy for 90minutes X3/games/week X Season X Tournament: helping them to play pressing in attack & defense + Magic TIMING!

5.11. The magic factor of making difference in the modern football has been and is still present:
a.-3 Dimensional Skills, in Attack:
1. ART of Passing 2. The SCIENCE of Dribbling & 3. The Strategies skills +geometry + magic of Shooting to score Goals

b. The 3 Dimensional Skills in Defense:

1. Challenge the man with the ball 1 vs. 1: pressing and art of

2. Interception the ball with the legs, as game of intelligent TIMING; 3. Tackling: without faulting the opponent.

c. The 3 Dimensional Skills in Set Plays attack and defense:

1. Corner in attack and defense, playing in 3 groups X 3 players; 2. Free Kicks: in attack and defense; respecting the same 3 groups;

3. Penalty: in attack and defense, with a very special training for.

Page

109

5.12.Strategic points of view are the 3-D Creative Intelligence, a will of winning in every situation:

1. TIMING, IN ATTACK AND DEFENSE, is the most important aspect of the Spanish/Latin playing Rule, Law, Need: expressed: through the 3-D-Formula of playing: 1. Control; 2.Watch & 3.Decide: What is the skills to be used, choosing the magic-time: Fast, Precisely, Direct, Efficient, Possessive and Progressive, etc.!

2. PRESSING: In attack and defense (for the first time pressing is used in both game phases: attack and defense, reducing the chance to play to the opponent, to play their game and strategies!) Jumping on the opponent, without faulting, with a group of 3-4 players make almost impossible to playwhen a group of players a commando forcing the man with the ball to lose the ball!

3.The CONCENTRATION AND RELAXATION, is the MAGIC RULE OF THE SPANISH AND OTHER CHAMPIONS WHO ARE PLAYING KNOWING, TRAINING, PERFECTING AND PROFESSIONALIZE THE Management of having Oxygen, according to the body and mind biological rules; * The scientist, are not involved in the act of PHYSIOLOGY OF EFFORT: the entire life being an art and strategic game of CONCENTRATION (to be successful, in everything we are doing) and RELAXATION AND RECUPERATIN, through 3-D SYSTEM OF EFFORTS: AEROBE, ANAEROBE AND MIX! * Educated coaches-scientifically, strategically, technically, are using the INTERVAL TRAINING, IN 3-D-TRAINING METHOD and applying into the game, through 3-D-ZONES of the field/ play, and passing the game is exactly WHAT THE LATIN CHAMPIONS ARE DOING TO WIN, and now, SPAIN, perfect the entire system, is leading the new orientation of the VISION 2030, the next 5 World Cups.

Page

110

5.13. What are the factors to accomplish this concept Latin?

1. The Spanish abolish the street football, replacing with clubs and school team, all kids playing the same concept of performance, from 8 years to 20, almost like the seniors; 1.1. There are superb championships for each region/states, till the cities, villages, schools, etc...

2. All coaches for kids and juniors are teachers of PE, with football specialization, paid to do this job: 2.1. The coaches must be models for the kids; 2.2. The Coaches must support the players to grow? 2.3. The coaches must the Games Intellectuals!

3.They have a CONCEPT OF PERFORMANCE at the national FA Level: 2.4. 2.5. Playing the same football Concept; Training the skills, creative football, developing their natural abilities, to create the wonderful art, game strategies, as the adult clubs +N. teams; The 3 groups X 3 efforts X 3 skills X 3 game situations = 12 laws of playing SPANISH/LATIN SUPERB SYSTEM

2.6.

Page

111

5.14. BUT THE SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION OF THE SPANISH NOW WORLD CONCEPT OF PERFORMANCEmodel, IS BASED IN THE 3-DIMENSIONAL GENETIC SYSTEM, OF GROWING STARS & SUPER-STARS:
7.1.PRE-PUBERTY PERIOD OF DEVELOPMENT THE PLAYERS PERSONALITIES: 4-5 years to 11 years old:
1.1. Playing by imitation and creation the skills and game strategies, as they abilities, talents, intelligence (Logistics & particularly, Emotional Intelligence.

7.2.PUBERTY PERIOD OF PERFECTION: MIND, BODY, SKILLS AND GAME STRATEGIES: 11-16 years;
2.1. This is also, the period of perfection, when the maturation in passing from kids to junior and young adult, with total personality (Character, temperament, education, football knowledge, professional culture, ready to play for performance);

7.3.POST PUBERTY, MATURATION, YOUNG-ADULT, POTENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR HIGHEST LEVEL OF FOOTBALL ACTIVITY: 17-21/23 years old
3.1. To be or not to be a super-professional football star!

Page

112

5.15.THE SAME AS WE DISCUSS THE FACTORS FUNDAMENTAL OF FUTURE GROWING SUPER-STARS ARE THREE IMPORTANT FACTORS:

1. Family: Growing family, spiritual family culture, the first 5-6-7 years from home, and first 40 years of integration into the Coaching international family!

2.Education: General, professional and superspecialization, scientific and creative strategic education;

3.Football: Society, national environment, tradition, international value,

JUST ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL EXERCISE:

A scientific and art, Classifications of the teams after the E URO-2012!

6.2. AN IMPORTANT QUESTION MARK?

The rest of the National FA, from EUROPEAN CONFEDERATION are victims of the actual system of qualifications with all national teams together. For that, we proposed to FIFA AND UEFA, (confederations) and the 208 National Football Associations, TO DIVIDE THE NATIONAL TEAMS IN 3 CATEGORIES: Class 1: the best 10-14-16 national teams; CLASS 2: The best 16-20-24 national teams, average value, potential, development, education, leagues, etc CLASS 3: The last 10-12-14 national teams, according to the value criteria! How to develop it? There are many variants? But, important is that the criteria value, will give the chance to the other teams to compete and win against their opponents as similar value! Why, in any national football association why the first professional league is not playing with the 2nd, 3rd of 4 categories of teams? (The argument of EURO-CUP = is Olympic Spirit of professionals but, is not matching to a very professional highest competition level of performance and football life)!

TECHNICAL NOTE:

We already published the FOOTBALL REFEREES PROFESSIONAL PROFILE and we are convince that they are a victim of misunderstanding the FOOTBALL AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 21ST CENTURY, by FIFA, UEFA (CONFEDERATIONS), 208 FIFA-National Football Associations, etc

They need professionalization and REPLAY THE GAME SITUATIONS WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SEE WITH THE BIOLOGICAL, PSIHOLOGICAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL HUMAN BEING (UNDER STRESS AND EMOTIONS, DURING THE GAMES), AND NEED SUPPORT AND HELP TO THE FOOTBALL GAME (to win the best) AND TO protect the REFEREESS, AS FUTURE PROFESSIONALS! There IS not another alternative at the beginning the 21st Century, than, FIFA (who knows better than anyone, the reality) TO ACT ACCORDING TO THE NEEDS OF THE WORLD AND FOOTBALL PEOPLE! 12 July 2012 15 July 2012 Spain All matches 1-0 Greece

A late goal from Jes Rodrguez continued Spain's dominance of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, securing a sixth title in 11 years and a second in succession at the expense of a tireless Greece team. In the final for the third year in a row, La Rojita characteristically monopolised possession but without breaking down their opponents, Jos Campaa's shot striking the crossbar to encapsulate their frustrations. JulenLopetegui's team finally made their pressure tell ten minutes from time as Jes's calm finish gave them the trophy yet again in front of a crowd of almost 8,000 spectators and ensured a repeat of their 2007 final defeat of Greece by the same score line. The day had featured prolonged bursts of heavy rain in Tallinn and, though the skies had cleared by kick-off, the playing surface was slick and rapid suiting Spain's sharp passing style perfectly. La Rojita duly settled the quicker, Jes's angled strike bringing goalkeeper SokratisDioudis in for the suspended StefanosKapino into action in the second minute before Kostas Stafylidis kicked Gerard Deulofeu's shot off the line. With a starting lineup including three players who appeared in the 2011 final Deulofeu, PacoAlccer and Campaa Spain continued to press at relentless speed, Dioudis making another smart stop from Jes at his near post. Deulofeu then freed Jes down the right and raced into the box to meet the low return cross himself only to flick wide. Greece, however, had shown their voracious appetite for defensive duty in their semi-final win against England and served notice of a threat of their own shortly before the break. GiannisGianniotas got away from two defenders down the Greece left and picked out GiorgosKatidis with his cross, but the captain's looping header dropped wide. Spain, though, picked up the pace again as the second half got under way, Campaa testing Dioudis with a swerving shot and then beating the goalkeeper from the edge of the area after a typically incisive passing move; only the crossbar came to Greece's rescue. Moments later Dioudis was their saviour, blocking Jes's low drive with his outstretched right foot and recovering instantly to palm away Alejandro Grimaldo's follow-up effort. The goalkeeper was exposed again ten minutes from time, however, and this time there was no escape. Deulofeu collected possession midway inside the Greece half and drew defenders to him before slipping a shot through to Jes; the finish was unerring and Spain were champions again

6.6. Technical team targets EURO trends

Published: Thursday 7 June 2012, 16.00CET

UEFA's technical team of experienced trainers will look at the trends and talking points at UEFA EURO 2012 from a coaching point of view, helping to produce a report on the tournament.
by Graham Turner

UEFA Executive Committee meeting, St Petersburg, Russia

Where can you find Fabio Capello, Grard Houllier and Lars Lagerbck working together? Before you start conjuring up images of overbooking in a dugout somewhere, the answer is that they will all be in UEFA's technical team at UEFA EURO 2012, helping to produce a technical report on the final tournament. Prior to leading Sweden into UEFA EURO 2008, Lagerbck said: "In the past our national association used to send technical observers to report on these events. Nowadays UEFA's technical report is of such a high standard that we don't need to dedicate resources to that any more." Now in charge of Iceland, Lagerbck is one of the current or former national team coaches who will be in Poland and Ukraine to provide input for UEFA's technical report on UEFA EURO 2012. Appropriately it is an 11-man team captained by UEFA's technical director Andy Roxburgh. "The brief is to provide a permanent record of the event from a coach's viewpoint and to trigger debate on the trends and talking points which emerge from it," he said. "A EURO, alongside the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League, is where benchmarks are laid and the most significant trends at the elite end of the game become apparent. These can

Page

136

supply valuable information in terms of pinpointing facets of the game which might need to be built into youth development programmes throughout UEFA's member associations." Alongside Roxburgh, Capello, Houllier and Lagerbck will be Jerzy Engel (Poland), DusanFitzel (Czech Republic), GyrgyMezey (Hungary) and HolgerOsieck (current Australia coach) with JeanPaul Brigger and Walter Gagg providing FIFA input while MordechaiShpigler will act as link-man to UEFA's Development & Technical Assistance Committee. For logistical reasons they will be split into two five-a-side teams one in Warsaw, one in Kyiv with Roxburgh distributing his time between the two. The technical team's work is based on first-hand observations at each of the 31 matches. At least two of the team will attend every fixture to make sure each side is watched by a pair of expert eyes. The coaches will be looking at team shapes and the way they evolve; defensive and counterattacking mechanisms; use of the wide areas; the way the goals are scored; differences in footballing philosophies and all the other facets of the game that are of interest to the coaching fraternity. The technical topics and the talking points will not emerge until the ball starts rolling in Poland and Ukraine. Although the focus will be on the way countries perform as collective units, one of the other tasks facing the technical team will be to acknowledge outstanding individual contributions and, after the final in Kyiv, Roxburgh and his team will be getting together to put the finishing touches to UEFA's All-Star Squad. The 72-page technical report, published in English, French and German versions, will be officially launched at the 9th UEFA Conference for European National Coaches in Warsaw in late September.

6.7. Spain's victory in numbers

Spain are the first team in history to win three consecutive major tournaments World and European champions Spain have had more possession than their opponents in 61 games since the final of Euro 2008 Xavi has assisted three goals at European Championships but they have come in the final each time. His first was to set up Fernando Torres in 2008 and he set up Jordi Alba and Fernando Torres against Italy David Silva's opener for Spain was the 22nd headed goal of the tournament. The previous best at a European Championship was 17 The Manchester City midfielder was involved in the most goals of the tournament (two goals, three assists) Spain averaged 681.6 passes per 90 minutes at Euro 2012, over 100 more than they did at the 2010 World Cup (588) Pirlo lost possession 18 times against Spain. Only against Croatia when Mario Mandzukic was chosen to close down the Italian, did he lose it more (20) at Euro 2012

PERSONALITIES ABOUT THE EURO-2012

Alan Hansen on Match of the Day:

"People will talk about the first half of this game in 30 or 40 years' time. Before the game we said this Spanish team are arguably the best team ever, but there is no argument now. "I don't think I've seen anything as good. They were picking the passes, making the angles and playing it with such pace. When they pass in that manner it doesn't really matter if they play with a striker or not. "It is not only their technical ability, but also they work so hard. Look at Andrea Pirlo's performance, he has been a star in this tournament, but in the final he hardly had a kick. That was down to the pressing of the Spanish players. "It was a privilege to be here to watch it and that's what every team has got to aspire to."

GianlucaVialli on Match of the Day:

"This tournament has proved that Italy are the most improved side in Europe, but the final proved we are not there yet. Spain are in a league of their own. They have shown how truly magical they are. "The astonishing thing about Spain is how much desire they have to keep winning. Italy faced a team that was too strong and there was too much tiredness too. "Pirlo is 33, and playing five or six games in such a short space of time is not easy. That's why Xavi has been taken off a few times by Spain coach Vicente del Bosque, so he can be fresh for the final."

Alan Shearer on Match of the Day:

"People have asked questions of Spain because of their system of not playing a recognised striker, wondering if they would score enough goals. "But they have scored more goals and conceded less than any other team. It was a dream to watch and a nightmare to play against because there are no answers. "As soon as Italy went down to 10 men, you could see Fernando Torres was itching to get on because he knew there would be chances. "In a strange way it has probably been a frustrating tournament for him because he has only played a bit-part. But when he's been asked to do a job he's scored goals and played well."

What they said about Spain's victory:

"Today I have been decisive. I was lacking that deep, incisive pass, and today I had two." - Spain midfielder Xavi "Are we boring? People who think we play boring, I don't think they understand the game." - Spain midfielder CescFabregas "To win three titles is almost impossible. Congratulations to the players. I didn't really want to be the coach who wins but the coach who educates. I want to keep preparing them for the future." - Spain coach Vicente del Bosque "Tonight, there was no contest, they were too superior - so the bitterness at losing this final is only relative. It was a great adventure." - Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon "We have to savour this victory. It's unique, it's magical; something that can't be repeated. I think we still haven't absorbed how great this is." -Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta "We came up against a terrific side. They're world champions. Obviously, when you go down to 10 men, the game's over." - Italy coach CesarePrandelli "As predicted, Spain are playing a different ball game to the rest." -Former England striker Michael Owen on Twitter Give your views on Spain's performance on Twitter at #bbcfootba

The greatest international team of all time?

Carlo Garganese "The best international team of all time." That is how BBC television pundit and former England striker Alan Shearer - top scorer at the European Championship 16 years ago described Spain just minutes after they made history on Sunday night by thrashing Italy 4-0 in Kiev to become Euro 2012 champions. Shearer was not the only distinguished figure to shower the Iberians with such praise. A quick search of Twitter will reveal thousands of users uttering the same remark. What is not in doubt is that Spain 2008-12 are the most successful international team of all time. Their dominant success at the Olympic Stadium means they have won an unprecedented three major tournaments in succession - their 2010 World Cup triumph sandwiching two consecutive European Championships. But trophies are not everything. It is important to note that this analysis has not considered any international teams consideration, only three sides can challenge Spain for the title of greatest international team ever. The likes of Netherlands 1974, Brazil and Italy 1982, and France 1984 just miss out.

prior to the 1960s, due to the scarcity of television footage, and with that in

BRAZIL (1970) Traditionally, Brazil`s 1970 World Cup winners have been regarded as untouchable. Certainly, no major tournament has witnessed such a dominant, destructive and talented attacking force as Mario Zagallo`s side. The Selecao crushed virtually every opponent they faced en route to glory, scoring a whopping 19 goals in six games and thumping European champions Italy 4-1 in the final. In midfield and attack, pound for pound, they have no equal. Player of the tournament Gerson pulled the strings in the centre of the park alongside the unorthodox Clodoaldo. Rivelino had perhaps the greatest left foot the World Cup has ever seen, while the fleet-footed outside-right Jairzinho remains the only player to score in every round of a Mundial. In attack, Tostao and, of course, Pele floated, linked, and dropped deep to devastating effect. These six players represent the most formidable attacking unit the sport has witnessed. Defensively, Brazil had their weaknesses, but the offence more than made up for these deficiencies, and their Mexican conquest is full of legendary moments. Carlos Alberto`s fourth goal against Italy the greatest international team goal ever - was the icing on the cake, yet there were other sequences, though none resulted in a goal, all produced by Pele; his dummy on Uruguay goalkeeper LadislaoMazurkiewicz, the attempted halfway-line chip of Czechoslovakia`s Ivo Viktor, and the bullet header miraculously saved by England`s Gordon Banks. And all this was achieved during one of the strongest eras of international football. Italy, West Germany and England all boasted world-class teams, while the likes of Peru and Copa America holders Uruguay were also dangerous. With the exception of the West Germans, Brazil swept aside every one of the aforementioned nations on the way to glory in Mexico. But the 1970 World Cup was the only major trophy that Brazil won and, compared to Spain`s three consecutive titles, this appears sparse. There were, however, no Copa America tournaments held between 1967 and 1975, meaning that Brazil did not have the opportunity to compete for continental supremacy. By the time the 1974 World Cup came along, much of the wonder team had broken up, and the golden era was over. The 1970 incarnation are undoubtedly the greatest single tournament team of all time, but whether one success is enough to make them the best international outfit in history is open to question.

GERMANY (1972-76) GERMANY (1972-76) GERMANY (1972-76) Helmut Schon`s West Germany of 1972-76 certainly cannot be accused of being onehit wonders, having been the first and only team before the current Spain to reach successive Euro-World Cup-Euro finals. Die Mannschaft were built around a brilliant Bayern Munich spine, consisting of goalkeeper Sepp Maier, libero and captain Franz Beckenbauer, and goalscoring machine Gerd Muller. A myth about this German side is that they were only efficient and physically insurmountable; they often ran teams into the ground through pure force and fitness. And while the likes of BertiVogts, Rainer Bonhof and Paul Breitner were world-class all-action men, Germany did also boast two genius playmakers in Gunter Netzer and Wolfgang Overath. The former was the star man in West Germany`s successful Euro 1972 campaign, memorably destroying England 3-1 at Wembley in the quarter-finals, before inspiring subsequent successes over Belgium and the Soviet Union. Overath was the creative spark when West Germany upset favourites Netherlands as they came from behind to win the 1974 World Cup final. Both playmakers, as well as Gerd Muller, were gone in 1976, but the rest of the team largely remained. They could do nothing, though, as Antonin Panenka`s iconic spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out handed Czechoslovakia victory and stopped the Germans short of a third straight success. Of the four teams considered, West Germany 1972-76 are probably the most complete. They boasted numerous world-class players in every department a topquality goalkeeper, a mean defence, skill and sweat in midfield, and the greatest penalty-box striker of all time in attack. Mentally, they are also at least as strong as Spain, staging numerous comebacks from difficult positions including the 1974 World Cup final, and in the semis and the final of Euro 76, where they recovered from two goals down to force extra time on both occasions. And having defeated the Netherlands` Total Footballers of Cruyff and Neeskens one of the best teams never to win the World Cup they overcame an amazing side on their journey to greatness. FRANCE (1998-2000) The most recent team to be considered alongside the current Spanish side are the

Page

143

French double-winners of 1998 and 2000. Les Bleus boasted one of international football`s best-ever defences in LilianThuram, Marcel Desailly, Laurent Blanc and BixenteLizarazu, as well as a truly great central midfield pairing of ZinedineZidaneand Didier Deschamps. And they went all the way to World Cup glory despite not having a top-class striker, although two years later, Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet had burst onto the scene to add some devastating firepower. But there is no doubting who the star individual was, the man who was perhaps the most influential talent from any of these four teams the one and only Zidane. The exJuventus and Real Madrid hero was always the player for the big occasion; he headed two goals in the World Cup final win over Brazil, before firing home knockout winners versus Spain and Portugal in 2000. The era of the late 1990s and early 2000s was probably the last time international football had an abundance of top-class players and teams; it took a truly special XI to reign supreme alongside Ronaldo`s Brazil, Paolo Maldini`s Italy, Edgar Davids` Netherlands and Luis Figo`s Portugal. This France outfit coached first by AimeJacquet and then Roger Lemerre - had a certain aura about them that crippled opponents before a ball was kicked, something that can also be said of the current Spain side. They also possessed great mental strength, as evidenced by three Golden Goal victories over Paraguay, Portugal and Italy the latter in the Euro 2000 final after initially equalising deep into stoppage time. Of all the four teams, France and Spain came closest to elimination during their successes. The French required a penalty shoot-out against Italy at the quarter-final stage of the 1998 World Cup, a lottery the Spanish have been involved in three times during their period of dominance. Both West Germany, despite a number of comebacks, and Brazil earned `cleaner` victories. The Selecao, in particular, were rarely in danger in Mexico and romped to victory in virtually every game. Therefore, some would argue that Brazil`s 1970 outfit relied the least on luck, and more on their own-skill. SPAIN---2008-2012)

understand just why they are being considered the greatest international team of all time.

One only has to look at the records Spain have broken in the last four years to

La Roja are the first side to win three consecutive major international tournaments. They have gone 12 European Championship finals games without losing - the last defeat arriving in June 2004 to Portugal. The 4-0 scoreline against Italy is the biggest winning margin in any World Cup or European Championship final. The last time IkerCasillas - who on Sunday became the first footballer to win 100 international games - conceded a knockout goal in a major tournament was six long years ago when France`s ZinedineZidane scored at the 2006 World Cup. Football is a team game, and as a team in the truest sense of the word, Spain are surely the best of all time. Every single player - regardless of position - is effortlessly comfortable in possession, and there is no such thing as individualism. Xavi will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest midfield directors the game has ever seen. His partner in crime, Andres Iniesta, will also be remembered as an all-time great in his more attacking role, as will goalkeeper Casillas. All over the pitch, there are world class performers. In midfield there is a ridiculous abundance of talent, with Spain`s second string middle-third arguably as strong as any nation`s first team picks. So strong that La Roja romped to Euro 2012 glory without a natural centre forward. Counting against Spain is the fact that this is one of the weakest eras in international football of the past 50 years. Traditional powerhouses such as Italy (this tournament surprise aside), France and England have been in crisis, South American superpowers Brazil and Argentina have lacked leadership, meaning that only Germany have had the quality in all areas to really be described as a major force. And as we learned yet again last week, Die Mannschaftlack the mental fortitude when push comes to shove. The-unanswerable-question? Comparing teams from different eras is always a difficult task. Football has altered and evolved immeasurably over the years. Spain have become a wonderful exception to the rule that today`s teams are set up to be strong and pacey. In certain quarters, skill and technique have been thrown by the wayside, while modifications in the rules surrounding back-passes and offsides have changed the face of the game further. The replacement of leather footballs with synthetic models has also upped the pace, and made defending much more difficult. Some world-class players from the 1960s or 70s would struggle to cope with the athletic nature of the modern game. Similarly, many of today`s stars would not be technical and tactical enough to handle the artful arena of yesteryear.

Page

145

In conclusion, the four teams analysed all have their various strengths. Brazil 1970 are the most devastating attacking unit and the best single tournament team. West Germany 1972-76 are the most complete side, France the best defensively with the most influential individual, while Spain have the best `team` and won the most trophies, yet played in the weakest era.

Analysis
Chris WaddleBBC Radio 5 live

"We've seen a masterclass. Spain have been the best team in the world for the last four or five years. Italy gave a lot of effort, but unfortunately they'd played too many hard games. They felt the pace and Spain, with that superior technique and movement and talent on the ball have run out easy winners. The Spanish have been criticised but they are the best team in the world."

Getty Images When I turn 100, I want all my friends there [in the Maracana] with me. If Im well physically, Ill even play for ten minutes. But it has to be in the Maracana. Pele They didnt get angry because I was booked for taking my shirt off, but they saw my physique and got jealous! Mario Balotelli after he was booked for taking his jersey off after scoring against Germany It was a very emotional moment when I scored [the golden goal] in the final of the EURO, because I didn't play much with the national side then. But this was even more special. Not only does it mean that River return to the top flight, but I'm also swollen with pride. David Trezeguet after his double earned River Plate a 2-0 win over Almirante Brown and a return to the Argentinian top flight Mario is crazy talented. But he infuriates me when he scores and doesn't celebrate. How can you be 21 and be unhappy at certain times? But if he scores against Spain, I will celebrate in his place! GennaroGattuso

After watching the [England-Italy] game, I think that Rooney only understands Scottish. That's because he only plays well in Manchester, where Sir Alex Ferguson speaks Scottish. Fabio Capello Hart looked very confident in himself, so I thought we had to bring him down a peg or two. Andrea Pirlo after scoring a Panenka-styled penalty in the shootout victory over England Modric is an outstanding footballer. I know that Manchester United and Chelsea want him, but in the Spanish league he could be much brighter, because its more physical in England and therefore more difficult for his qualities to show. I believe he can win the [FIFA] Ballon DOr if he moves to Spain. DarijoSrna Until a couple of days ago my daughter was saying she wanted Italy to lose so Id come home. But she came here and had fun with the Azzurri shirt, the face paint and the atmosphere. Shes supporting us now! Daniele De Rossi Cristiano Ronaldo had been struggling for form at international level for years. The world's best player, along with Lionel Messi, seemed frustrated and petulant when playing for Portugal. Luckily for him, Portuguese coach [Paulo] Bento has brought in lass Pepe in defence, Chelsea's [Raul] Meireles in midfield, and Manchester United's Nani, giving him free range up front. After a superb couple of games, Ronaldo started playing - scoring three goals and bringing Portugal to an unexpected semifinal. It is always great to see the best in a superstar. He has shown his countrymen that he does deserve a monument in Lisbon. Diego Maradona I like Balotelli hes crazier than me! He can score a winning goal and then set fire to the hotel.
