THE! NEW! EDUCATIONAL! year! is! well! underway! in! Bolivia,! and! FTs! Education!and!Community!area!is!once!again!providing!vital!support!to!the! community.! ! In!February,!FT!workers!returned!to!local!schools!to!teach!gospelH based! R.E.! lessons,! including! our! local! secondary! school.! God! has! blessed! this! ministry! by! allowing! us! to! continue! to! minister! to! many! of! the! young! people! who! committed! their! lives! to! Christ! in! last! years! classes! (see! December!2012!update).! ! March! saw! the! return! of! the! English! class,! which! is! already! overH subscribed!just!weeks!after!its!launch.!The!Community!classes!also!resumed! in!March,!with!two!classes!now!meeting!in!FT!headquarters!for!children!in! our!neighbourhood!and!a!further!class!in!the!outlying!village!of!Man.!The! Community! Arts! &! Crafts! class! has! also! seen! big! interest! in! its! first! few! weeks,!with!the!focus!this!year!on!needlecraft.!In!all!of!these!ministries,!the! Word! of! God! is! shared! on! a! weekly! basis! with! participants,! and! we! are! so! thankful!to!be!able!to!minister!in!this!way!to!our!community.!

Campaigns)
SINCE!THE!last!update,!FT!has!played!host!to!a! further!three!weekHlong!surgical!campaigns.!In! midHDecember,! our! surgeon! friends! from! Paraguay!(see!last!update)!returned!to!oversee! a! Nose! &! Throat! surgery! campaign,! with! 22! patients! receiving! essential! treatment! at! FTs! operating!theatres.!!! ! An! Ear,! Nose! &! Throat! campaign! then! took! place! in! February.! 16! patients! were! treated!by!the!same!surgeons.!! And! the! operating! theatres! have! only! just! closed! their! doors! again! at! the! end! of! another!ENT!campaign,!which!took!place!from! the!18th!till!the!22nd!of!March,!with!21!patients! treated.!This!time,!we!were!joined!by!Bolivian! ENT!surgeon!Dr.!Ren!Zabala,!from!La!Paz,!and! longHterm! FT! Health! partner! Dr.! Richard! Wagner!(USA),!of!Global!ENT!Fellowship.!! Once! again,! we! are! grateful! for! the! worldHclass!facilities!which!the!Lord!has!given! us!to!be!able!to!reach!our!community!and!the! worldHclass!support!of!these!visiting!surgeons.! Most! of! all,! we! give! thanks! for! patient! safety! during!all!three!campaigns.!Please!continue!to! remember!these!patients!and!surgeons!in!your! prayers.!

WE! WERE! greatly! encouraged! by! the! visit! in! March! of! speech! therapist! Shona! Blatch! (Canada),! who!oversaw!a!weekHlong! speech! therapy! campaign,! training! staff! members! in! the! process.! Shona! is! pictured,! right,! with! a! patient.! Deborah! Holmes! (see! Staff! Meeting)! arrived! in! January! on! a!

placement! with! First! Serve.! She!has!been!a!great!support! across! all! ministries! and! will! be! muchHmissed! when! she! returns!home!in!May.!

Ribera,! a! recent! medical! graduate! who! studied! in! Cuba,! has! returned! to! Trinidad! to! be! trained! in! Ear! &! Hearing!
