Alleluia!
During the past six weeks, our parish community has prayed, fasted and given alms with a special focus on the poorest members of our global community. Our lives were touched by stories from Burkina Faso, East Timor, Lesotho, Dominican Republic, Pakistan and the United States. Through our Lenten prayers and donations, we have touched the lives of millions of people served by Catholic Relief Services, our representative to the poorest communities in the world. Please return your Rice Bowl to the parish office or in the back of the church by April 14. Thank you for your generosity.

Sacred Heart PCCW

Chapter 58 of Isaiah tells us to "not turn our back on our own" and our little church community of Sacred Heart in Dodson responded to that on Sunday! We had a fund raiser for a sick parishioner and the final sum was astounding! Thank you Sacred Heart for giving from your heart. May God give you every blessing possible! Yours in Christ, Terri and Leona, Co-Presidents

Stewardship and Development

We are recreated to a new life in Christ through the Easter miracle and our Baptism in the Lord. His death and Resurrection open the way to eternal salvation for all who seek it. As faithful stewards, we stand in awe of this tremendous gift and exclaim, The Lord has risen. Alleluia! Let the remainder of 2013 be an opportunity for you to express your deep faith, love and commitment to our Risen Lord through the kind of stewardship activities that He is calling you to. Christ needs each of us to continue his work here on earth for Him, with the help of the Holy Spirit. Will you offer Him your gifts of service, energy, and ability or your gifts of charitable donations so that you may ensure the life-giving and faith-building ministries in our parish and throughout our diocese?

Parish Choir Announcement

Dear Parishioners of St. Mary's Church, If you have not yet heard, Kay has passed on the reins of St. Mary's Choir to us. Dan will be the new choir director and Kerri will be the organist. As you have seen, the organ is now in the choir loft. I believe that this is a great opportunity to encourage family and friends to join. Singing from the back of the church is great fun. It decreases much of the anxiety people rarely get when singing. Also we would like to invite any junior high and high school students to the choir. This year, we are taking a different approach to rehearsals. We are having weekly rehearsals for a couple of months prior to our first scheduled mass of the season. The choir will develop a basic repertoire of music and master different pieces with three or four part harmony. We will be making free rehearsal CD's so that the choir can listen to their respective parts in the car. Our goal is to have a full repertoire of songs prepared so that we can focus on a few songs at a time and need fewer rehearsals. The rehearsals will be on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM and last for about an hour. The first rehearsal will be Wednesday April 10 at 7:00 PM. For students, there will be a separate rehearsal. For more information or to sign up please contact Dan at 845-264-7577 or e-mail Kerri at kacornish@hotmail.com. God Bless! -- Dan and Kerri Morton

Faithful Citizenship Quote

"The Church must speak out in today's context on fundamental rights, the right to justice, the right to peace, but above all and in the first place, the right to life. If the Church did not speak, did not proclaim the truth, it would be abandoning its duty; it would be unfaithful to society, to the good of society. Therefore, its precise duty is the very liberty to intervene with word, and also with example -- the example of promoting human life, of intervening for the salvation of mankind." -- Bishop Elio Sgreccia, Vice-President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Vatican City

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information!

Confessions: Saturdays 4 - 5 p.m., 1/2 hour before daily Mass (Mon.- Fri.) or by appointment Anointing of the Sick: Please contact Fr. Cory as soon as possible for anointing. Baptism: Normally celebrated at Sunday Mass. Parental sessions are required. Marriages: Six month couple preparation period required. Please contact Fr. Cory before scheduling marriage date.
