2. Plot Introduction Siva and Roslan argue for the matter of Roslan having a relationship with a married woman. At the end of the argument, their friendship has broken. Rising Action The narrator recalls the memory when the narrator, Siva and Roslan getting together. He tries to reconcile Siva and Roslan. Climax When the narrator and Roslan talk about the clash between Roslan and Siva, they are surrounded by six men who want to give Roslan a lesson for sleeping with another man s wife. The ringleader decides to lift up his parang to slash Roslan. Falling Action Siva reaches at the scene. He dives over Roslan s body to protect him. Although he is slashed continuously by the ringleader but he still refuses to leave Roslan. Resolution Roslan cries as his friend, Siva dies at his arms.

3. Conflict i. Man vs. Man- Siva argues with Roslan for having a relationship with a married woman, Mas.

Siva advises Roslan to stay away from trouble as Roslan is having a relationship with a married woman, Mas. However, Roslan loses his temper and scolds Siva as a pig of an Indian. At the end of the argument, their twenty years of friendship is ended. This is an external conflict which is facing by the protagonist, Siva. It is physical because they use a part of their bodies, which is mouth to argue.

4. Characters Character Protagonist a. Siva He is a caring person as he advises Roslan to stay away from trouble. He is a lively person as he is active in class to make friends with Roslan and the narrator by using a spicy sweet. He is a kind and brave person as he protects his friend from a slashing by the ringleader. Antagonist a. Roslan He is an irrational person as he sleeps with a married woman. Characteristics

5. Theme Theme of the story is the friendship is valuable. For example, Siva advises Roslan to stay away from trouble for having a relationship with a married woman. Besides, he protects Roslan from a slashing by a ringleader even though they still in argument. 6. Lesson The lesson of the story is appreciate the friendship that you own and don t be regret when it has gone.
