If You Were, You Is!

Healing belongs to us! First Peter 2:24 says, [Jesus] bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. This verse says, By His stripes you were healed, not going to be, not maybe so, not hope so. You were healed! And if you were, you is! See, we need to understand that because of what Jesus accomplished at Calvary, healing has already been sent. All we have to do is believe and receive! Remember the Centurion in Matthew 8:513? He came to Jesus on behalf of his sick servant. Jesus was willing to come and lay hands on the servant, but this Centurion said, Only speak the Word and my servant will be healed. Scripture tells us that the servant was healed that very hour! Now I want you to notice that this Centurion was not a covenant person. He wasnt a Bible school graduate or a scholar of Jewish law. Yet he still received what he needed from God. What was his secret? Why did he receive? Its because he believed what Jesus said. As a Roman captain, this man understood the flow of authority. In other words, he understood the power in the spoken word of Jesus. He didnt question what Jesus said or put his own interpretation on it. He simply believed and received the spoken word. Friend, you can do the same! God has given us His written Word, and its just as real as if we were looking Jesus in the eye and hearing His voice. All we have to do is speak that Word! No sickness or disease is left out of the redemptive work of Jesusnot a headache, not a stomachache, not any kind of cancer, nor any kind of heart trouble. In Gods plan of redemption, every sickness and disease has been dealt with! Start the new year out right! No matter what time it is, no matter where youre at, believe the Word, speak the Word, and receive your healing! Theres power in the Word!

Authority
in Christ
God has provided a glorious inheritance for all believers. Our inheritance includes dominion over all the works of darkness, including sin, sickness, disease, and spiritual death. But for us to take advantage of our authority in Jesus so we can successfully stand against the devils strategies in every circumstance, the eyes of our spiritual understanding need to be enlightened.
The believers inheritance in Christ is the wisdom of God which was hidden throughout the ages until it was revealed through Jesus Christ. Grasping this truth and walking in the reality of Gods inheritance is the key to taking our place and reigning as kings in this life. The riches of our inheritance are revealed more fully in the book of Ephesians than in any other book of the Bible. Ephesians chapters 1 and 3 contain Spirit-inspired prayers that apply to believers everywhere, because they were given by the Holy Spirit to the Body of Christ. As believers, we can pray these prayers for ourselves by putting I, me, and my where Paul says you and your. In these prayers, the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to believers the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus (Eph. 1:17). What is the wisdom and knowledge God wants to reveal to the believer about Jesus Christ? The Holy Spirit wants us to understand Jesus complete victory over Satan in the triumph of the cross. He wants us to see what Jesus seating on High really means to us and the rights and privileges we have in Christ. We are seated with Christ in heavenly places! And that position is one of authority, honor, and triumphnot one of failure, depression, and defeat. Through Christ, we have triumphed over Satan. Believers have been ignorant of Satans devices, and he has been able to take advantage of them. But the Spirit of God wants us to understand the authority we have in Christ. We are no longer subject to Satan because we have been delivered from his dominion and authority (Col. 1:13). God wants the Body of Christ to know that we arent a defeated Churchwe are a triumphant Church. We are to reign in life through Jesus Christ because of our position of authority over the devil. When the eyes of our understanding are enlightened, we will stand in our place of authority as the triumphant Church upon the earth.

Our

Dethroned Powers
Colossians 2:15 tells us that Satan and his evil hosts were spoiled, disarmed, stripped of their power, exposed, shattered, emptied, and defeated by our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus made an open example of their complete and eternal defeat! He disarmed and stripped Satan of his authority and took the keys of death and hell from him (Rev. 1:18). The Body of Christ needs the eyes of their understanding enlightened to understand Jesus complete defeat of Satan. This is the wisdom of God that each believer needs to understand. 1 Corinthians 2:67 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect [or mature]: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that came to nought: 7 But we speak the wisdom of God. . . .

The Ephesians Prayers

Pray these prayers over yourself and your loved ones. Wherever you find you, your, or ye, replace it with I, me, my, or the name of your loved one.
Ephesians 1:1623 16 [I] Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. Ephesians 3:1421 14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Verse 6 tells us that Satan has been dethroned. The wisdom of the mature or full-grown Christian whose understanding has been enlightened by the Holy Spirit is that Satan and all of his demon forces have already been dethroned and the believer has victory over him in Christ. Dethroned is defined as to remove from a throne or place of prominence: deposed. The word deposed means to remove from office, position, or authority, especially high office.
W e a r e t o reign in life t h r o u g h J e s u s C h r i s t b e c a u s e of o u r p o s i t i o n of a u t h o r i t y over t h e d e v i l .

Satan was dethroned by Jesus Christ at the cross of Calvary and in His resurrection. The devil has been removed from his throne, his place of prominence, his place of authority, and from his high office. Jesus has already done this for every believer. Satan no longer has authority over believers, unless they give him access or authority through lack of knowledge of Gods Word, disobedience, or failure to exercise their rights in Christ. Satan has been dethroned and stripped of his authority. This is the wisdom the Holy Spirit is trying to get across to the Body of Christ in the Spiritinspired prayers in the Book of Ephesians. The wisdom of God is that believers only need to stand in Jesus victory over the devil because they are in Minibook Christ. Jesus victory over the To learn more about your devil is their victory. Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:14 (NKJV)

Taking Our Place

Lets Keep on Praying
On January 31, 1983, Kenneth E. Hagin led a prayer meeting for our nation on the Rhema campus. Following is an abbreviated version of what he prayed that night.

Changing Nations Biblically

We in the Body of Christ could accomplish much for the Kingdom of God if we would exercise the authority we have in the Name of Jesus and enforce the devils defeat on this earth. Most of us dont use the authority that belongs to us. If we did, much damage would be done to the kingdom of darkness and many souls would be won to God. As Christians, we can change the political, economic, and social scenes in cities and nations through scriptural prayer. We can hold back judgment on the unsaved, giving them more time to hear the Gospel and repent. Whenever we as Gods people take our place in prayer, we can change things on this earth to the glory of God and thwart the plans of the enemy in every encounter.

Heavenly Father,
We come in the Name of Jesusnot our name, not our power, not our holiness, not even our goodnessbut we come in the Name of Jesus, washed in His blood, robed in His righteousness. We come because You told us to come. You said in Your Holy Word for us to come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain help and grace to help in the time of need. We are exhorted in Your Word to pray, intercede, supplicate, and give thanks for ALL who are in authority, that Christians everywhere may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. We pray for our leadersour president, every member of Congress, the Supreme Court, the presidents cabinet, everyone thats in authoritythat divine wisdom, grace, and direction will be given unto them. We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil that would try to dominate and rule in our own nation. We rise up against that darkness and those spirits and dispel the darkness. In the Name of Jesus, we command the devil to take his hand OFF the political scene of our nation. We pray for every politician, everyone thats in office, that theyll not be so concerned about politics, that theyll not be so party conscious, but that theyll be concerned about our nation as a wholeand above all, put God first. We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil, the demons of hell that would endeavor to dominate the financial scene of our nation. We pray for the economy of our nation. We pray about the unemployed. We pray that the economy will turn around, and everyone that wants a job will find a job, and that we will be prosperous as a nation to continue to carry the Gospel around the world. We command the devil and all of his cohorts: Take your hand OFF the financial scene of our nation. We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil that would endeavor to dominate the domestic scene of our nation. We command you, Satan, and all of your cohorts to take your hand OFF the domestic scene of our nation. May there be peace. May there be tranquility. May there be understanding from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border. We sweep the air clean from demonspowers of evil that would hinder, that would dominate. In the Name of Jesus! And Father, we pray with our understanding as best we know how. Yet we sense in our spirit that our spirits have not prayed as they would like. We remember that Paul said that if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit, by the Holy Spirit within me prayeth. So we trust the Holy Spirit to help us to pray in this area about our nation, the leaders, and all that are in authority. Help us to pray as we ought to pray about things that we dont even know to pray. In Jesus Name, amen.

Kenneth W. Hagin

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
Theres only ONE way you can successfully run the race God has set before you and live in His abundant provision. Its by learning how to receive guidance from the Holy Spirit as you listen to your heartyour recreated human spirit. Learning to be led by the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God is the most important lesson youll ever learn in life. What am I referring to when I say listen to your heart? Are you supposed to listen to your physical heartto the muscle that pumps blood throughout your body? Of course not. When the Bible refers to believing with the heart, it is referring to something entirely different than a physical organ. Its referring to mans spiritual heart or inward nature. First Peter 3:4 calls it the hidden man of the heart. The physical heart is just a part of the outward manthe physical manwhich will one day perish. But the hidden man of the heart or the inward man is the real manthe spirit man who will live forever.

Proverbs 20:27

ROMANS 8:16 16 The Spirit itself [Himself] beareth witness WITH OUR SPIRIT, that we are the children of God. The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. That means God communicates with us through our spirits because God is a Spirit (John 4:24). And He made us in His image as spirit beings (Gen. 1:26). Because our spirits are born again under the New Covenant, we cant commune with God in soul or in body, but only in spirit with our recreated spirits. Notice what Proverbs 20:27 says: The SPIRIT of man is the CANDLE of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly. In modern-day terms, we could say the spirit of man is the light bulb of the Lord. What does a light bulb do? It gives illumination. When a light bulb is turned on, darkness is dispelled. In the same way, when you become a new creature in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17) and your spirit is made alive unto God, the light of the Lord, the Holy Spirit, comes to abide within you to give you illumination (John 14:17, 23). When the Holy Spirit dwells within you, communication with the Lord through your spirit is then possible. However, even though your spirit is made new when you are born again, it still needs to be trained and developed. You dont grow from a baby Christian to a spiritually mature Christian overnight. No, just as your body and intellect must be trained and developed in order to use them to their fullest potential, so you must train and develop your spirit so it can reach its fullest potential.

You Are a Spirit

Therefore, in order to learn how to listen to your heart or your spirit, you must be aware of the fact that you are a spirit being. If you live only conscious of your physical body or your feelings, you will never learn to be led by the Holy Spirit through your own spirit Read More (Rom. 8:14). To learn more about training your spirit to follow God, go to The Bible says that God http://www.khm.com/1t9e communicates with His chiland read Kenneth W. 10 THE WORD OF FAITH // Jan 13

The Bible clearly says that we are responsible for our spiritual growth (Rom. 12:12; Eph. 4:2224; 1 Peter 2:2). If we dont train our spirits to be sensitive to the Holy Spirits direction, it will never be done.

Dont Settle
for Less Than Gods Best!
blessings. You can hear from God! Learn to train your spirit in the Word so you can listen to your heart with confidence and walk in the fullness of all Gods

Meditate on the Word

The first principle in training your spirit is to meditate on the Word of God. The word meditate means to focus ones thoughts on, to reflect on, or to ponder over. You meditate on the Word of God by continually thinking on scriptures. A person will never train his spirit if he only reads a psalm or proverb a few minutes every morning. You must let God give you more light on scriptures and expound on their meaning until the Word becomes a living reality in your spirit.

Practice the Word

That brings us to the second principle in training the human spirit: Practice the Word. As you become a doer of the Word you have been meditating upon, you will prosper and have good success in life. A doer of the Word praises God when circumstances in his life look bad, as well as when they look good. Why? Because his faith is not based on what he sees, but on what God has said. If you have trained your spirit by practicing the Word, you wont be fretful because the Bible says, Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything (Phil. 4:6 Amplified).

Jesus said, the words that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are LIFE (John 6:63). You can feed on the Word of God until your heart and mind are saturated with the life of God. Instantly Obey
When youve saturated your mind and heart with the Word of God and have put it first in your life, it becomes much easier to practice the fourth principle in training your spirit man: Instantly obey the voice of your spirit. Remember, God through the Holy Spirit communicates with you through your recreated spirit, not through your head. So you learn to obey the Holy Spirits leading in your life as you learn to obey the voice of your own spirit. The Holy Spirits Presence within you is a continuous miracle and a precious gift, given by a loving Heavenly Father who wants you to be successful. So develop your spirit by the Word of God and always allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. As you do that, you will get to the place where you can hear the Lord clearly when He speaks to you through your spirit. Receiving the counsel and wisdom you need for every situation you encounter in life is easy as you learn to listen to your heart!

Gods Honor Roll

Tad Gregurich

SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT

helps us understand something. We cannot honor God with our leftovers. We must always give Him our very best. When we do, verse 10 says there is a reward, an honor, that will come back to us.

You are? (See Mark 6:13.) Because they were offended, they could not receive from Him. Understand that you will always receive from what you honor. There are some things in our lives we probably need to quit honoring and giving so much value to, but not the things of God and not the servants of God. Matthew 10:41 says, He that receiveth [honors] a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophets reward; and he that receiveth [honors] a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous mans reward. If we will honor and receive from the God-ordained men and women the Lord has placed in the ministry, we will receive the reward of the anointing God has placed upon their lives. Honor What God Honors Finally, to honor God is to love what He loves, and hate what He hates. Proverbs 8:13 says, The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and

the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. In this verse, fear does not mean were afraid of God. It means were honoring, reverencing, and showing respect for Him. If God hates pride and arrogance, anything to do with evil, and a mouth that speaks against people and the things of God, so must we. Yet, the primary attribute of God is love. What does He love? People! To love God is to love people, and to honor God is to honor people. That means we must not only reach out to a lost and dying world, but we must also love our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our honor and love for God wont rise any higher than the person we love the least. I want to ask you: Will you honor God and be named to His roll of honor? If you will, youll see things come to pass in your life that are above everything you could ever ask or think!

Two:
In First Samuel 2:30 God says, For them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Them that honor Me, I will honor! This is a lawa principle by which the Kingdom of God operates. When we honor God, we will be honored! What does it mean to honor God? The Greek word used for honor in the New Testament means to view as valuable; to view as precious. When we talk about honoring God, were talking about valuing Himand not just in church! We should value and esteem Him in every area of our lives. If we dont honor God, we will not advance or prosper. Thats why I want to talk about four key areas that will get us on Gods honor roll in life.

Honor Gods Word Secondly, we must honor Gods Word. Proverbs 4:2022 says, My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. The Word of God is our foundation. Its alive and full of power, and we must put it first place in our lives. We must not treat is as ordinary. Thats what dishonor meansto treat as common, or ordinary. We must keep the Word in the midst of our hearts. We must stay in love with it and never despise it. You see, if we despise the Word of God, it will profit us nothing. But what we honor, we shall be honored with. Honor Gods Servants When Jesus came to His own hometown and began to teach in the synagogue, Mark 6:5 says he could there do no mighty work. Why? It wasnt because Jesus wasnt anointed. It was because the people were offended. They treated Him as common saying, We know you! Youre the carpenters son! Who do You think

To honor God, we must bring Him our first and best. Proverbs 3:910 says, Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the FIRSTFRUITS of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. These verses are referring to our substancewhats in our possessionbut the word firstfruits

Compromise? I Dont Think So!

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1 Corinthians 2:2 Lynette Hagin

It is vitally important that we keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ and the truth of the Gospel. We must determine that we wont allow anything or anyone to distract us or become more important to us than Jesus. We have to be as determined as Daniel was in the Old Testament. Nothing was going to stop him from serving his God. Daniel did not compromiseeven in the face of enormous pressure. (See Daniel chapter 6.) One problem with Christians today is that there is too much compromise taking place. In fact, some believers have compromised so much that you cant tell the difference between them and non-Christians. We must be determined not to compromise our convictions. Daniel was a captive in a foreign land when his godly actions won the attention of the king. Daniel 6:3 says, Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom (NIV 1984). Daniels favor and position with the king made the other leaders in the kingdom jealous, so they tried to find charges against Daniel. Verse 4 says, They were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was

trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent (NIV 1984). So what did those jealous leaders do? They conspired to attack Daniels faith in God. They had King Darius sign a decree stating that no one was to pray to any god or to anyone except the king. Did Daniel stop serving the Lord or hide away to serve Him secretly in fear of being caught? No. Daniel did not compromise at all. He went up to his house. He opened his windows. He knelt down for all to see and prayed to his Godthe God he knew would deliver him out of every test and trouble. Daniel was determined that he would not compromise. He was confident of the fact that his God was able to deliver him out of any situation. And he had lived such a life in front of the king that the king believed Daniels God could deliver him. When the king placed Daniel in the lions den, he said, Thy God whom thou servest CONTINUALLY, he will deliver thee (Dan. 6:16). And God did deliver Daniel from the den of lions!

we also need to be as committed as the three Hebrew young men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men were determined that they would not bow before the kings graven image. And when they were told they would be thrown into a fiery furnace for their refusal, they did not compromise. (See Daniel chapter 3.) When asked by the king what god was able to deliver them out of his hands, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said, Were not careful to answer you in this matter (Dan. 3:16). In other words, they said, We dont have to think about your question; we can answer you immediately. And answer him they did! They said, OUR GOD WHOM WE SERVE is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king (Dan. 3:17). Our foundation should be so firmly fixed on the Word of God that we dont have to think but can answer immediately when asked who is able to deliver us. We should have the same faith and confidence that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had in the Lord. They believed that He was going to deliver them out of the fire. And He did! But they also said that even if God didnt deliver them, they still wouldnt

compromise and bow to the idol. They were going to continue serving the Lord their Godno matter what.

Finish With Joy!

It takes that kind of commitment to live for God in the world today. We must determine to live for Himto fix our eyes upon Jesus and Him onlyeven if we are the only ones doing so! Were not going to veer to the right; were not going to veer to the left. Were going to build a foundation that nothing can shake! Whatever may come our way, we will stand firm on our Rockthe Lord Jesus Christ. He will carry us through every circumstance we face in life, and we will finish our course with joy!

Refuse to Bow Down

Not only do we need to be as faithful and determined as Daniel, knowing that our God will deliver us out of every trial, but

JOHN & LAURA MADAN MINISTER AT A HEALING MEETING

Radical. Thats really the only word that describes John and Laura Madanand they prefer it that way. These 1984 Rhema Bible Training College graduates are the directors of Rhema Nice, France, and Rhema Geneva, Switzerland, and also pastor Victoire Centre Chrtien (Victory Christian Center), in Nice. Their journey to where they are today is full of wild twists and turns. John and Lauras adventure together began over 30 years ago when they met at university in England. Though it wasnt love at first sight, John, a native Brit, and Laura, an American, were married nine months later. Because John knew he was called to preach the Gospel in France, he took Laura there on their honeymoon. It was like I went home for the first time in my life, Laura remembered. It was extraordinary. Although France was on their hearts, the Lord told John and Laura to first share the Gospel with their family. They left for the States for what they thought would be six months. God had other ideas. We were very much in love with God, John explained. We were spirit-filled and loved the Word. But we had never heard of Brother Hagin or the word of faith. While they were in the U.S., they came across a church pastored by a Rhema graduate who introduced them to the teaching of Kenneth E. Hagin.
16 THE WORD OF FAITH // Jan 13

I said, God, I would love to sit under the ministry of a man like that, Laura recalled. But I never dreamed God would call us to Bible school. We were producing fruit in our ministry traveling and singing. And we were on our way to France! We were doing whatever we could, John added. But we didnt know what we would do in France. So we set time aside to seek God for the next step, and we heard what we did not think we were going to hear. God said, Go to Rhema. We didnt even know where Tulsa, Oklahoma, was, Laura exclaimed. It was just wild.

Tandem Adventures
Because they had to return to England so John could immigrate to the U.S. to legally attend RBTC, the Madans arrived three days before school started. Once here, they had two wonderful years in school. Their determination to succeed was clearly evidenced in their mode of transportation. During their first year at Rhema, John and Laura made the 25 mile round trip to school on a tandem bicycle! We did that for the first four months in the snow, ice, and wind, John said. Then we moved closer so we were just five miles away. We were renowned, he laughed. While attending school, France was always on their minds. So for them, everything they heard at Rhema was translated into, How does this work for France?

John & Laura Madan

After John and Laura graduated from RBTC in 1984, they returned to their home church in England. They served as janitors for three months and the church also allowed them to hold an unadvertised meeting. What began with six people soon grew to 60 in six short weeks.

see the books weve translated in every French-speaking country. It takes money to print and distribute them.

Following God
On September 10, 1984, John and Laura packed their car and made that long-awaited move to Nice, France. Laura didnt speak any French, John spoke only schoolboy French, and they had only $25 a month in promised support, but they knew they were following God. And God did provide! With no references, no money, no jobs, and no contacts, they moved into an apartment in the best part of town within three weeks. The Lord also supernaturally connected them with three ladies who wanted to help them start a church. With five people in attendance, Victoire Centre Chrtien opened its doors in March of 1985. We knew it was meant to be called Victory Christian Center, John explained. We didnt know why, but we were convinced. The Madans later found out that the word Nice comes from the Greek word nikaiawhich at its root means victory. God knew what He was doing! Today, the Madans church has grown to more than 120 adults, and they started a second service in December 2012. Almost immediately after starting the church, God put it on John and Lauras hearts to translate Faith Librarys books into French. With our French, that was hysterical, Laura laughed. But God once again made a way for them. Johns mom, a French teacher and linguist, and his father, retired to Nice to help with the book translation project. To date, the Madans have translated 45 books and printed over 300,000, which is large by French standards. They are also beginning to publish eBooks, which will allow the word of faith to penetrate French-speaking countries where its more difficult to take printed books.

The sixth French-speaking campus, located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, just opened its doors in November 2012. In addition to the basic curriculum found at every Rhema campus, Rhema Nice and Rhema Geneva have workshop sessions where graduates teach on specific subjects like nutrition and exercise. Students also work on group projects. Its phenomenal, John said. We have students who have never played sports in their lives who are getting themselves fit. We believe in training them spirit, soul, and body. And the students are getting it! John and Laura, together with the Taylors, have seen over 100 French-speaking graduates come from their campuses. A handful of those graduates are already teaching in the schools, which is part of their long-term plan. We want to see a Rhema campus started in each of the 52 French-speaking countries of the world, John explained. Our goal is to have 800 teachers that we can send out to those countries in the next 30 years. Working together with other Rhema graduates, they are determined to see this vision come to pass. Rhema teaches you to go and do what God told you to do, John affirmed. And you dont ever give up! Thats why were still here. We had a pioneering spirit when we came to school, but Rhema undergirded that. And the fact is, we cant do anything else but obey God.
Rhema takes off in Port-au-Prince, Haiti!

A Dream Becomes Reality

The third facet of the Madans ministry began in 1989 with the opening of their Bible school in Nice, Victory Bible Training Center. It was always in John and Lauras heart to have a French-speaking Rhema, but at the time, Rhema had no schools in other languages. However, in 2007, the Madans dream became a reality when Rhema Geneva opened its doors. Three years later, they opened a second campus in Nice. Like many Rhema schools in Europe, each campus holds class two weekends a monthFriday to Saturday

God

We all have buts. By that, I mean excusesall the many reaCRAIG W. Hagin sons why we cant do this or cant do that. Unfortunately, all too often we allow our buts to get in the way of Gods plan and will for our lives. I believe when we make excuses, its because we dont realize the kind of God we serve. If we did, we wouldnt be making those excuses. Our buts get in the way of God being able to manifest before us. A good example of someone who made a lot of excuses when God called on him is Moses. His journey almost never started because of his buts. He didnt have just one but; he had five ugly buts! Moses was tending sheep on Mount Horeb when God spoke to him from the burning bush and said, Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt (Exod. 3:10). In Exodus chapters 3 and 4 (NKJV), Moses gave God every excuse in the book as to why he was the wrong person for the job. His first but was:

cause us to overcome whatever we face. He will give us the mountain and the land, but we have to believe that He is with us.

2. But Who are You and can You really do this?

Then Moses said to God, Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? what shall I say to them (v. 13). God responded, I AM WHO I AM. . . . Say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you (v. 14). I AM WHO I AM means that God is whatever we need. I AM more than enough. I AM able. Whatever your need or question, I AM is the answer. Not only did Moses have I AM working on his behalf, He is working on our behalf as well. When we have I AM, we dont need anything else.

3. But what if they dont believe me or listen to me?

Then Moses answered and said, But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, The Lord has not appeared to you (Exod. 4:1). In response to this but, God showed Moses how to perform signs and wonders. He showed Moses how to cast his rod onto the ground and turn it into a serpent. He showed him how to make his hand become leprous. When people dont believe, the Lord sometimes gives signs and wonders to show them that He is God.

1. But who am I?
But Moses said to God, Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? (v. 11). God immediately answered, I will certainly be with you (v. 12). God has promised that He will never leave nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5). If He sends us on a mission, we can rest assured that we wont go there by ourselves. God is always with us and will
20 THE WORD OF FAITH // Jan 13

Notice that although God equipped Moses with a staff, Moses had to stretch forth that staff before the miraculous could happen. A lot of times we arent using our talents or abilities because we wont step out and let God move. Were too busy with our butsall of our excuses of why we cant do something or why it wont work.

4. But I dont know what to say or how to do it.

Then Moses said to the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue (v. 10). It really doesnt matter if we dont know what to say. Its not about us; its about God and His Word coming out of our mouths. It didnt matter to God if Moses wasnt eloquent. God was going to fill his mouth and that would make him eloquent. God sees potential in all of us. Throughout the Old Testament, God often chose people who werent qualified. Their willingness enabled Him to qualify them and do great exploits through them.

Go in the Right Direction!

5. But I just dont want to do it!

But he said, O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send (v. 13). God became angry when Moses said this. He had just answered all of Moses excuses, and Moses disregarded all of them. He kept asking, But cant you just find somebody else? Whenever God asks us to do something that seems too hard or too uncomfortable, we have to remember how big He is. It isnt about us and what we cant do. Its about God and what He can do through usif well let Him. He will provide us with resources and whatever else we need to fulfill His calling. God knows the potential we have. He knows whats inside of us. When were tempted to say, But God, we have to remember Philippians 4:19. It says, But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Many people think this verse is just about money. But our needs may be something more than money. We may need confidence, boldness, or wisdom. But my God shall supply . . . is the answer to all of our needs and all of our excuses. If Moses hadnt been able to get over his buts, he would not have led the children of Israel out of Egypt. He would have continued to tend sheep in the desert. What but are you holding on to that is keeping you from doing something great for God something that will help people generation after generation? My grandfather, Kenneth E. Hagin, didnt really want to start a Bible school in 1974. What if he had said, But God, its too hard. Its too much money. I just dont want to do it. Where would Rhema Bible Training Collegeand the many CONSIDER: What has God been lives it has touched asking you to do? What excuses be today? have you been giving Him? What are When God asks us you going to do about it? to do something, we cant make any excuses. Remember, the Word says, But my God shall. . . . Our Heavenly Father will abundantly supply all of our needs. There is no situation or any circumstance we will ever face that can overshadow Him. So lets drop the excuses and go out and do exploits for God!

year of this century. The beginning of a year is always a good time to make adjustments in our lives and to reassess our values. It is a good time to decide, Are there changes that I need to make? Do I need to tune up some things? After a certain number of miles, our cars need servicing. And if we keep them for an extended period of time, the moment comes when they need some fine-tuning and adjustments, the tires must be changed and the brakes checked, and so forth. In the same way, as we live our lives, we must realize that we need to periodically do some fine-tuning. As I make these assessments, I am amazed at the wise words that can come from children. My youngest grandson constantly surprises me with the wisdom that comes from his mouth. All of my grandsons are involved in sports. And my husband, their Poppy, will not hesitate to tell you that they are all good in every sport. In fact, when each of them was born, the first gift that he brought to them while they were still in the hospital was a ball. Being the sports fanatic that he is, he is proud of their talent in that area. He goes to all of their games when we are in town. Some Saturdays, his entire day is spent going to ball games. But he enjoys every minute of it. He is making lasting memories for them and setting them an example. At the end of football season and with basketball season approaching, my youngest grandson, Wesley, said to his mom, Im taking a season off from sports so I can live my life. Of course, his parents got a real laugh from that statement, coming from an 8-year-old. In the midst of being amused myself at Wesleys words, I began to meditate on what he had said. I thought, Wow, he is wiser than most adults. Wesley realized that his whole life was consumed with sports, and there were more things that he needed to focus on. I encourage you to assess what you are focusing on. Are you building your life on temporal things? Or are you focusing on eternal things? We can all get caught up in the hectic schedule of life and spend our time and money on things that give temporary pleasure. All of us are experiencing different seasons in life. My husband and I are now in the empty-nest season. However, I look back on the many family times that we had with our children when they were younger. And I listen with satisfaction when I hear them reminisce about those times. My husband and I determined that when we had children, we were going to enjoy every phase of their lives. We wanted them to excel in school. We wanted to prepare them for adulthood, but not at the expense of enjoying their childhood and teen years. Of course, education was a priority. But we did not expect them to maintain such a high level of academic performance that there was no time for recreational activities. Our children look back fondly at the vacations that we took. One special memory for them was the year we asked them where they wanted to go. They both agreed that they wanted an amusement park vacation. My husband and children enjoy roller coasters and other thrill rides. They are not my cup of tea, but we granted their request and went to four amusement parks that year. We traveled from Texas to Kansas to Missouri, and even to Ohio, to go to the amusement parks that had the best roller coasters. Needless to say, I held their belongings more than I rode rides. But we still talk about that vacation, even though it occurred many years ago. I encourage you to de-clutter your life this year. Decide what your priorities should be. Of course, our most important priority should be Godto place Him first and make Him the center of our homes. We should emphasize to our children the importance of attending church, and we should be godly examples for them to follow. When we put God at the top of our list, everything else will fall into place. Whatever season of life you are in, I encourage you to enjoy it. Make memories that will be your legacy in years to come.

Wow! The years are flying by so rapidly. It seems impossible that we have entered the 13th

22 THE WORD OF FAITH // Jan 13

See if you can find these eight fruits that are concealed in the picture below: banana, cherry, lemon, pineapple, pear, strawberry, grapes, and an apple slice. An apple tree is full of apples and a pear tree is full of pears. Did you know that Christians are supposed to be FULL of fruit too? Galatians 5:2223 tells us the kind of fruit that a Christian should be FULL of. Theyre called the FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT! Now, the best thing about natural fruit is the taste. So, you have the fruit of the Spirit in you so that other people can TASTE and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8 NIV). These fruit are called the fruit of the Spirit because they come from the Holy Spirit of God. You cant grow these fruit on your own. You can only grow them when you are attached to the vine. Jesus said, I am the vine; you are the branches. [The branch is where the fruit grows.] . . . Apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5 NIV). And remember this, when you have the fruit of the Spirit, Jesus said that two things happen: 1) Your Father in Heaven is glorified, and 2) you prove that you are Jesus disciple (John 15:8). So, if you havent already done it, get your FRUIT FILLING today! Ask the Lord to fill you with the fruit of the Youve got to abide in the vine to bear fruit! Spirit.
